I’ve watched the Psych series repeatedly. There’s always something new to see! I adore their references to other shows/people/et al. It is as if we got little trivia puzzles to work with each episode. I say this with love - the occasional slapstick-esque feeling that I got from the show always paired with a savvy script, great actors, (and all the unseen support behind the scenes), and spot-on comedic timing made for such an uniquely pleasurable viewing experience. (To clarify- I am not placing a negative connotation on the word “slapstick “. I feel that some of the all-time , most beloved shows/entertainers used that technique so skillfully, making for timeless entertainment that will surprise and please audiences for many decades to come.) I truly wished for this show to run on forever. -s- Kudos to all involved with its creation & life!!
Discovered Psych a few years ago and was immediately hooked...the chemistry between all the actors, especially James Roday and Dule Hill, and including the guests was just so on the money...and the fact they had all the actors from The Breakfast Club (apart from Emilio Estevez (although he was referenced)) was a great coup and pure genius as was Psych: The Musical and the Pierre Desperaux episodes 🤣🤣

I've just finished this show on Amazon Prime and fell in love with it, so I'm searching out interviews on yt. And you're so right, Roday is SO low-key irl! It really made me realize how good of an actor he is to make Shawn the way he did because he really is nothing like that character in the real world.

It’s hard to believe it’s real because anyone I’ve seen interviewed from this show seems so genuine about what a positive experience it was and how much they enjoyed working with everyone and making the show and it’s what you love to see as a fan but it’s so rare! Maybe it is true considering they keep making the movies! I’m eager for movie #4! Also, Yang was definitely the best “villain” or even suspect from the series and there were a LOT of contenders!
I loved this show from the beginning, but then season 7 onward it just stopped pretending to be a normal detective show and transformed into an ADD pop culture fever dream.
Yeah, the last 2 season were definitely weak. I think the writers kinda messed up how Jules found about Shawn, was pissed off, then she forgave him like nothing happened. That whole thing made season 7 feel off and awkward. 8 got a bit better but still missing the spark from 1-6. Still among my top 5 shows though.
@@robertosolano7774 The Jules subplot felt like the writers realizing they wrote themselves into a hole with Shawn never coming clean to her, and they rushed the entire thing to get it out of the way knowing they really should've done it earlier. Personally I always thought his secret was what was keeping them apart, but they got together when he was still lying to her. Felt like they missed their moment.

I feel surprised to see James Roday behave in such a "low key" mode. Because in the show his character Shawn is so hyper.
