@@bigdeckenergy8119 I like a wide stance and I’m 6’ tall so gotta go bigger wheelbase . My board is Santa Cruz Keith Meek 9.5 with Indy’s and 64mm Powell wheels .
I just bought the 151 to put on my 8.5 I can’t wait to try em out! My current stage 11 trucks are grinded down to the axels so should be trying em soon! Thank you for the review!
Great review Just got a set of 136’ to set up up on a Dogtown cruiser. Have not been on Stage 4 since the 80’s. Looking forward to the turn after many years on 169 Stage 11’s.
Nice review! I rode the originals in 1986-87. It's time for a new set of stage 4s!!! Oh, use a bit of wax on those bushings, always helps the squeak!!!
after 20 plus years of riding indy's i bought a pair of ace 66 last year since all the homies wouldnt stfu about how rad they are. they're great, but they are loud af also. if i have my cruiser wheels on they're actually super distracting while i'm pumping around. they did seem to quiet down after a few months but still. i need to get on a set of these stage 4's and do a comparison!
Hey man I’m just happy you got that kinda money to throw around! To be clear I don’t hate the cross it was just interesting to get a pair without it on there
I hate the cross, it deff makes some of us feel a little weird. I understand that the cross originally represented Hindu religion but at the same time, Hitler really messed everything up. Honestly don't know why they chose that symbol but I'm glad they stopped using it. I don't know about you but if the cross makes people who have gone through AWFUL abuse, death, pain and suffering feel not good then I would rather not have this symbol on anything I ride or wear. We should care about people's suffering a little bit more, you know? The World has become far too apathetic and sad.
I need these trucks now. Indy’s are notoriously squeaky. Regardless of model, most of the time I just take them apart immediately and grease the pivot cup and everything else.
Tgood review and video yag just got a baker 8.5 deck and im just waiting for the stage for want to make what size being 146 stage 4 ill say I'm gonna go with rhat size for my deck makes as well thanks because I wasent sure at first now know
On the squeeks.. add polyurethane lube to them. Just a slight film. Apply it and wipe off. That should kill the squeek when you do 8 or 9 kickflip switch bennis DOOOOD no mo squeakys. I use energy suspension lube. You can get it in small clear packets
Sorry had to DOOD!!😂 Anyways, hahaha, good bit of extra info ia the wheelbase on these vs 11s is it will shorten th WB approximately. 23" with the 4s... DOOD!!!🤙
Yo bigdeck can you help me with my kid’s setup ? He 11yrs old. Setup is 8.0 Quasi, 139 silver 11 139’s, spitfire 54mm f4s and g3 bearings. Is the truck too high for a begginer ? He been skating for 6 months and used a 8.5 chocolate with 149 royals and ricta 56mms
I don’t think they would be too high. The royals are only 3mm shorter. If he is feeling a big difference though I would suggest swapping the trucks and seeing if he’s more comfortable on the royals. Dialing in your setup when you’re young is particularly rough because you’re growing all the time so one setup that works really well one month might not work out the next. Has he said anything specific about the setup that he doesn’t like?
@@ho2673 the lower truck would have a quicker response time. Just check with him and see what he likes about the old setup and this one. As long as he’s having fun it’s all good!
i cant look at these without thinking about the blockhead sam cunningham with these and 60mm 95a bullets ,fly paper i got for x mas. i got my first solid ollie on that board. this spring i got 169 titaniums and they helped me move up a few levels skating bowls and ramps. aces are nice too but im an indy guy since 86. thunders ,grind kings, trackers etc.. i always come back to indys and i have just accepted that. take your trucks apart and rub your bushings and pivot cup with dish detergent , dont rinse. bye bye squeak

@@drbosommd thank you it took years of research 🧐
@@bigdeckenergy8119 so we talking 9 inches ? 9.5 inches ? And are you rocking a 15 inch wheelbase ?

Just put some silicone grease in the pivots for squeak. And hit up riptide for some aftermarkets
I enjoy the squeak! I will keep this in mind though if it ever gets on my nerves! Thanks 🙏

Rad dude. Love your channel. And I'm digging the turn from these stage 4's soo much. I ride as surfy as possible in the bowl. No going back to Ace!
Thanks man! Yeah I definitely enjoy not getting wheelbite every time I make a deep turn!

The stage 4s have a pretty loud squeak to them at first but a little grease helps a lot
Marseille soap dust in the pivot , no squeaks no extra turn effect
I kinda like the squeak 🐁
I just ordered a set of the 166 to put on a Roskopp. I logic was they both came out in 86.
Now if you only had wheels and bearings from 86
@bigdeckenergy8119 I do have a complete variflex eliminator 😂.
I just went with some slime balls and I will pull some bearing out of current setup.
1:13 lol I paid almost $100 on ebay for some 129mm indy hollows shipped from Canada SPECIFICALLY because they have the cross on them🤣

Anyways, hahaha, good bit of extra info ia the wheelbase on these vs 11s is it will shorten th WB approximately. 23"
Can you pump these to generate/maintain speed? I ride all surfskate trucks because it makes me feel like I’ve got bicycle pedals on my setup.
@@TheSurfskateboarder I’ve never tried. I imagine they would have enough grip to make it work but I am no surfskater.
why?
Is that the 4ft or 8ft Keen slap stick? You like it?
It’s the 8ft and I love it!
fav trucks that i've tried so far
Definitely the best feeling turn on any trucks.
