I really enjoyed how Tsuruno was shown to be likable and a guy on your side, but still very willing to do and plan shit like a Yakuza would be expected to do, be it torture, threats and murder
Tsuruno ended up being a character I didn't expect to care much about but ended up loving, even though the first few moments were tense, banger of a theme as well
And he was able to actually hold his own in a fight and not have to hide behind bodyguards. Yeah he lost to Kiryu twice. But he caught him off guard in the first fight after defeating his lackey's, and in the second fight he literally sent Kiryu flying out of a window even when he guarded the kick .
Pretty he even beats nishitani at the construction site. Yeah, gameplay wise Kiryu did all the work but the cutscene afterward he's standing over Nishitani as if he just fought him
There is a reason why Tsuruno is the only Watase family member who will not betray his boss till the end and becomes an ally for Kiryu, that's because there is a meaning of his name, the name comes from tsuru (鶴) means crane or stork while no(野) means plains, field, and civilian life. His first name tsuru comes from the Japanese Crane because this animal in Japanese society symbolizes honor and loyalty which is very similar to Katsuya Naoki's tattoo and also reflects of their personality as well as both an Omi Alliance member who will do anything to protect Watase and will not betray him as well. according to his voice actor, Tsuruno described being a real man's man" whose "affiliations and way of life may not be picturesque," but who would "do anything for his aniki and his boss Watase." which means he has a similar personality of his Boss principle mindset A fierce "man's man" with no interest in money, schemes, or fussing over the finer details. If you look closely at their last name as well both Tsuruno and Katsuya's last name have a kanji ki (樹) in it.
@elipat3125 yeah, I was thinking all the time "He wasn't there in a big fight! Oh no, oh nonono!" Then Homare charged him and I thought "This is it" But all they did - cut his leg to make him incapable to take part in a fight. I'm so glad they did this
Spoilers Because he had a mission and stuck to it, even it meant getting punched in the face by the former Dragon of Dojima himself Kiryu. Even saving Watase from getting ganged up and killed

fr, i love tsuruno
exactly, i love the characters they introduced in this game, the whole cast is spot on.
@@realtyupi its interesting that no one really died too
@@RedaniaKnight-ElectThat's what I find very interesting not a lot of major deaths
I was fully expecting Tsuruno to die but no he lives
@@RedaniaKnight-Elect because the game didn't have any bullshit plot twists or stupid gun left on ground for anyone to die
Tsuruno was basically an equally cool Hamura but the twist is he's on our side for most of the game

Tsurono best freind

My thoughts exactly! I prefer Rake You Inside over Unrequited though, even if it's by a small margin.
@@Colonel100 At this point, losing to Kiryu doesn't mean anything in terms of strength. Literally everyone Kiryu has ever faced has lost.

You got any fun facts about Shishido? I only know that the Shishi part is Lion
@@lionelk.y7233his tattoo is actually Okinawan
@ebbisnar8616and he was like a guardian lion of Okinawa. And Shishido was trying to save yakuza from disbanding / protecting his old life🤔
I wouldn't be surprised if Tsuruno was created as a "successor" to Katsuya
Gotta hand it to rgg for giving us evrytime a new game comes out new characters that become total bros and we end up loving
I also love that they didn't cheaply kill him off like they do with almost every other ally or friend Kiryu meets.
@elipat3125 yeah, I was thinking all the time "He wasn't there in a big fight! Oh no, oh nonono!"

I am always amazed how RGG manages to introduce new nuanced characters and make them so interesting with a banger theme
This gonna be a _hurry up_ theme, yeah?! (Stalked by the Bell intensifies)
RGG knows that you have to make the most of the screen time you give to a character
When Tsuruno picks up the branding iron he’s like “This will do nicely “
This is a middle-aged dude in a parking lot, why does it sound like I'm fighting a fierce deity?
Spoilers
Because he had a mission and stuck to it, even it meant getting punched in the face by the former Dragon of Dojima himself Kiryu. Even saving Watase from getting ganged up and killed
Next to the final boss theme, this might be my second favourite addition to the playlist
Also I love how he's giving off Zhao vibes with those clothes
Booting Kiryu through the window would've been the perfect time for his name to pop up
I like the shot of him mad dogging with the brand, it's sweet.
Tsuruno could have probably been the penultimate boss of any other RGG game, and I think that's awesome
This one has some serious For Will vibes, hell even the characters look alike a bit. I love it!
Tsuruno's got to be my fave from gaiden, ngl
This boss fight was actually pretty tough
You are serious trouble! *You are serious trouble!* _You are serious trouble!_
The Watase Family is probably the only family in the series where *everyone* is a badass
I love how relentless this theme is. Tsurono doesn't give up easily, which is why I think he lasted so long as a yakuza.
Best char, I want to see him again🤗
Omi zhao is my favorite character from gaiden ngl (even if hanawa is also a bro)
0:37 SYLVESTER STALLONE (KAZUMA KIRYU) VS BRUCE WILLIS (YUKI TSURUNO)

Dunno why this song gives me PS2 soundtrack vibes, so cool.
ough this is heavenly (I just fought this guy a few hours ago)
I love how you can see his piercing eyes through his sunglasses.
UUU LOVE THIS ONE :3
0:23 see, this shot right here should’ve been Tsuruno’s dynamic intro, shit looks fire and best character in the game
never expected to like Tsuruno but he redeemed himself after this fight
Does anyone know the song that play before the this fight ? When they are talking
Lost Judgment - Parallax
*YUKI TSURUNO*
*WATASE FAMILY CAPTAIN*

This song reminds me of Electric Romeo, the song famously used in Robot Chicken season 5(?)'s finale.
