The scary thing about van basten's time at Milan was that he wasn't even at his peak at Milan,his ankles were badly injured in his last year at ajax and before his ankle problems he was much more agile quick and more skillfull,and despite not being at his physical peak he still played really well at the club,125 goals despite playing only 6 seasons in Italy(when it was the toughest league and had the best defence).now imagine if his ankles were at it's 100%.
And imagine if he played 5 years longer. He retired at 28, but still 3 ballon d’ors 😳😳😳
He won three Ballon d'Ors while playing with busted ankles... How many more he could have won we'll never know. He will forever be a legend.

I grew up as a little kid thinking it was normal for Holland to have such players.
Now as a grown man I realise these players were the best we ever had.
Personaly I think Ruud Gullit made everything possible.
De Jong and De Ligt have to work hard in the comming years and hope to become like the players from the '88 generation.
Van Basten is my favourite but i LOVE gullits music😂😂😂

@@R08R since the Milan 3, the world class Dutch players include: Bergkamp, Davids, Seedorf, RVN, Van Der Saar, Robben, RVP, Sneijder, Stam, Van Dijk, De light, Cocu, Kluivert, De Boer twins, Overmars, and that's just off of the top of my head.
Maybe none of them were as good as Van Basten but they were all considered world class in their prime.
I'm English but I've always loved Dutch football and read multiple book about the team from 1974, Rinus Michels, Cruyff etc etc.

@Lloer K. Rijkaard giocava da per tutto. Anche in difesa. Gullit giocava non solo da 2 punta. E van basten, suarez 😅. E poi tutti i 3 pressavano per il pallone perche erano totali, tipo calcio olandese. Hai mai visto Rijkaard giocare in difesa e dopo fare goal? Hai mai visto RUUD giocare nella fascia con la nazionale e in attacco Bergkamp, van basten? Van basten giocava contro picciatori al contrario di questi 3.
@Lloer K. e non dimenticiamo che giocavano in un campionato combattuto quell anni. Non come messi che non ha avuto palle per andare a giocare in un altro campionato per vedere la sua classe. E non dimenticiamo che i tulipani una coppa con la nazionale l hanno portato a casa da outsiders. Messi con il grande argentina lo prende sempre nel culo come suarez e Neymar.

I wish I was able to witness this. I started watching Milan in 2012 and instantly fell in love. Back then I didn't know what a team we used to be.

Great little documentary. I was so proud of these three Dutchmen. And Van Basten, the dancing cat, will remain my favourite player. Combination of sheer elegance and killing instinct. The man could have dominated the football world for much longer.

Basta vedere questi 3 fenomeni per capire che il Milan di Sacchi rimarrà una squadra irripetibile. Anche se tornassimo (come mi auguro) ad essere una grande squadra, a questi livelli sarà impossibile perchè campioni come questi non ce ne sono e anche se dovessero nascere sarà molto difficile averli tutti assieme.

Per chi come me non era neanche nato quando giocavano questi immensi campioni, video di questo genere sono stupendi perché permettono di conoscere in maniera più approfondita la storia della squadra. Un consiglio per tutti: leggete il libro di Van Basten. Di solito non mi piacciono molto le biografie degli sportivi, ma il suo libro non serve a celebrare uno degli attaccanti più forti di sempre, bensì racconta la storia di un uomo che é caduto 100 volte e si é sempre rialzato.

As a dutchman I can say this brings back good memories. this was the best club team ever! And not only because of the three Dutchmen, but also the other players. Baresi is still the greatest defender I ever saw. Like Van Basten once said: “at AC Milan we had an absolute top player at every position.”

@@Cesc349 that is a good question! At first sight I would say: Barca. Their midfield of those days was epic! What a joy to watch! But when I imagine those two teams against eachother I think the power and pressure that Milan played (they called it ‘forward defending’) by players like Rijkaard, Donadoni etc. combined with their scoring capacity by Gullit/Van Basten would tip the scale.... what did I prefer watching: Barca! That team was incredible!!
