By the way, this Sonic.EXE/Xenophanes is pretty much my own take. Had a full lore and backstory or such.
You may ask, what's Tribe Of X? Tribe Of X or for short, 'TOX' is a Sonic.EXE FNF mod and it's pretty much our own take on exe, literally (not like the og one or a revival of it). Includes new characters aswell and slight crossovers. Only some things stay the same from the OG Sonic.EXE mod, but I promised you that this mod will be off the charts. Right now, we're planning to release the DEMO this year so stay tuned!

Friday Night Funkin' (stylized as FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN' and often abbreviated to FNF) is an open-source donationware rhythm game first released in 2020 for a game jam. The game was developed by a team of four Newgrounds users, Cameron "ninjamuffin99" Taylor, David "PhantomArcade" Brown, Isaac "Kawai Sprite" Garcia, and evilsk8r. The game shares some gameplay features with Dance Dance Revolution and PaRappa the Rapper and borrows aesthetic influences from Flash games. The game has been credited with driving users back to Newgrounds, a site whose popularity peaked in the early 2000s.
The game mainly revolves around the player character, Boyfriend, who must defeat a variety of characters in singing and rapping contests in order to continue dating his love interest, Girlfriend. The game was initially created for the Ludum Dare 47 game jam in October 2020. A full version backed on Kickstarter titled Friday Night Funkin': The Full Ass Game is currently in development.

X sounds genuinely pissed in the drowning motif, and the backstory behind this take on him sounds pretty interesting if the intro, Sonic segment + AIZ motif are anything to go off of

This is absolutely amazing the beginning is kinda sad to see his own friends turn against him like that. But overall the voicelines, vocals, and everthing else is absolutely amazing Good Job.
My own little theory on the story. The guy that was shown in 3:50 was bullied in some way and confessed his feelings to someone but was rejected. Stuff is now just a bit of a theory but he somehow is within the sonic we see here. Maybe now killing or haunting the people who hurt him.

probably not, but if the intro and the Angel Island motif is anything to go off of - it _could_ be, this take on Xenophanes being Tom's spirit possessing the Sonic vessel after 2011 X killed him (this is not confirmed lol, just my assumption)
