How do we work on being addicted to worrying about every bloody thing being addictive?

This is the fundamental issue I have with this detox thing. It's like, do I become Amish to actually not do anything negative to my brain. Super annoying.

Explore boredom. What is it really. Try and get bored. Try and do it on your own outside in nature. Whenever your mind darts over ideas and problems, don't try and block them out but look at them from an outside perspective. Like listening to everyone else around you. Like as if they were an external noise. I bet you'll start to relax. 🙂

I wonder if heroin addictn could switch drug of choice to porn, scrolling through Instagram, or binging on youtube shorts and thereby avoid withdrawal and/or use suboxone...

When an interview with an erudite and well-regarded Dr. clashes with laundry-day ;)

Anyone with any addiction , join a gym and invest in a trainer. It will cost you less than any drug/alcohol vice in the long run and you’ll make friends that are into health and fitness. Gym rats unite

EXCELLENT interview Mike! Two things: First, you are the best interviewer ever! Thank you so much for letting your guests talk, 👏 Secondly, how has this discussion possibly modified your thoughts on Sugar addiction, with respect to your episode on this topic?

By far, for me anyway, the most salient moments of this interview, are its last two minutes. Anna throws out the farseeing insight that all of us feel existential angst [Why are we here? What’s the point of it all? Do I matter?] that subconsciously drives our unhealthy behaviors (like our need for perpetual busyness and distraction) that serve as cover for these deep, unrecognized fears.
