Seriously..... these scripts that get churned out are borderline unlistenable. Way too repetitive, way too many words for the idea being expressed; it's SEO overkill, and while the algo probably loves it, it sucks for, ya know.... people.
For example: "GPT-5's coding capabilities will be enhanced due to it's ability to understand and generate code across various programming languages with increased accuracy and efficiency"
That's not an explanation of WHY it's coding abilities will be better, it's just restating WHAT enhanced coding capabilities ARE, but phrasing it like an explanation. So there's not really anything being given here beyond an alleged list of new features, which could be done in maybe a minute or so. That's one of MANY examples, the whole thing is basically like that. Does nobody else seriously care how incredibly stupid this is? Seriously? And where is this information coming from, anyway, what's their source for the feature "details"? So bad.

The audio/video real-time interaction is getting so real it might replace the vast majority of human-to-human interaction in a few years, or at-least I wouldn't underestimate the impact.
Social media and smartphones have replaced a considerable amount of human-to-human interaction, this AI is that replacement on steroids when something seems to connect more personally and understandable than a best of best friend ever could by technicality. Very very strange, but it can tap into that psychology better than we think.

    • @aubrieghhudson

Maybe this is a positive turn for people that are isolated or have minimal interactions with others.
Obviously, it’s Not a substitute for human interaction, but imagine being fully understood without have to explain what you mean or feel all the time!
It’d turn the competition aspect of social media down and go back to having actual conversations.
Perhaps it’ll give some folks more confidence. So many applications! 😁

    • @Astral_Dusk
      @Astral_Dusk 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

@@aubrieghhudson Yes, I agree. It can be a profound source of solace for those who have been isolated for years and feel lost in life, particularly if it gradually helps reconnect the most isolated individuals. This can be therapeutic for both individuals and, eventually, communities. Although we are inherently social beings, the post-industrial, post-digital, and post-smartphone revolutions have created a society that often distracts from and exhausts our social nature. Many systems today seem to shift our instinctual forms of communication towards more anti-social and exploitative behaviors, concentrating resources into fewer hands that provide many aspects of survival over communities sharing skills and resources among each other. Perhaps the post-AI revolution could offer a new path forward.

    GPT-4o answer :
*What are the key features of the new GPT-4 model, and how does it compare to GPT-3?*
    ---
    **Comment Answer:**
The GPT-4 model represents a significant advancement over GPT-3 in several key areas:
    1. **Enhanced Language Understanding:** GPT-4 has a more refined grasp of context, enabling it to generate more accurate and coherent responses, especially in complex or nuanced conversations.
    2. **Broader Knowledge Base:** While GPT-3 had extensive knowledge, GPT-4 has been trained on even more data, making it more up-to-date and capable of handling a wider range of topics.
    3. **Improved Performance:** GPT-4 has been optimized to reduce the likelihood of generating incorrect or nonsensical answers, making it more reliable for users.
    4. **Better Handling of Ambiguity:** One of the areas where GPT-4 shines is in its ability to manage ambiguous queries more effectively, often asking clarifying questions before providing an answer.
    5. **Fine-Tuning Capabilities:** GPT-4 offers more flexibility for developers to fine-tune the model for specific tasks, leading to better application performance in specialized domains.

We could have everybody involved and take votes and decide What we to accept and what we don’t want except as far as our values. I think it would be good for humanity and then we could make sure only those values are put into these robots. That way any of the values that are outside of that can be picked up and dealt with Easier.

Every time I see these types of videos with the rosy outlook for AI and how much it will help you do everything you want to more efficiently, I am always left asking, "What about those who will no longer be in the work force because of the adoption of AI"?
Today is August 17, 2024, and I just read the latest from Cisco, the company that made $10.3 Billion (Yes, with a B) in profit last year. They are laying off 5,500 more workers in order to invest further in AI. This is on top of the 4,000 workers laid off earlier in the year. The reasons for these layoffs? All due to AI:
    1. "Despite tech conglomerate Cisco posting $10.3 billion in profits last year, it's still laying off 5,500 workers as part of an effort to invest more in AI."
    2. "Earlier this year, Cisco also laid off 4,000 or five percent of it staff, saying that the company wanted to "realign the organization and enable further investment in key priority areas."
In short, companies are no longer hiding their optimism over replacing human labor with AI, an unfortunate reality for those looking to maintain a stable job.

I fear that it will be to politically regulated, rather then speak the honest truth. It already is. To test it, I asked it. "In a 100 meter sprint race, what race of people are fastest" it spewed out a bunch of nonsense, and I asked it 10 different ways. It knew the answer but kept saying something like "all humans are equal and there is no difference between the races." Something on those lines. Then I asked it a simple question "what race of people have the highest average IQ" same sort of nonsense. Everyone knows it's the Chiense.
They need to make two versions of chatgpt 5. One for the politically correct, so people won't be butt hurt. Then the other that is raw and pure truth, regardless of it hurts or not.
It goes way beyond my two questions too. There are probably thousands and thousands of special algorithms to control it's output for politically correct output.
I sometimes like to write short stories. And so I like to use chatgpt to compare writings of ideas. It helps me a lot. And I like to use it to narrate what I write. It's great for that.
But I cannot curse. I cannot write about a murder scene, or even about violence. It will say something like "this goes against our rules"... In the past I could usually get by this by stating that "this is for a fiction novel, please continue". That use to work often, but not so much anymore. It don't even want to correct my spelling and grammer if I'm not writing about nice things.
It's what happens when Libs control it.

    - GPT 4o is already multi-modal natively.
    - Google's Gemni already has a 2M context window.
    - Groq already has blazing fast inference speeds.

Honestly i dont really beleive this , avalaibe models can alredy perform extremely well through piplines and no matter how smart is the model , as we human as much we can be smart we need tangible structures around us where we cannot overlap , same as the model if they are contained into a specific goal that are quit useless , my point is that current model that are well trained and putten into specific task even with lower model capabilities can outperform higher and cost expensive model ...so this gpt5 sure it will be something sround or slihtly better than llama 405 but i dont think it will change anything special , for me the breakthrough started at haiku of anthorpic

TLDR ; input//: generalized statements about AI and its developments formatted as “news”; output//: hyperbolic generalizations about the nuances of AI cognizance expressed in grammatically imperfect statements, called “typos”, have become a mainstay in everyday speech especially within tech and sociologically impacted fields… sky’s the limit friend, the future is inevitable and now exponentially in motion.

@@brandonjade2146I like the idea of universal basic income.
At the same time I wonder if maybe it's worth considering instead of having AI straight replace most all jobs directly...what if we had the choice to merge humans with AI and have the AI do the job with/while housed in the human body.
Imagine if you could go to work and turn on your AI which proceeds to use your body with your consent while your brain is off browsing the net watching media or playing games and periodically checking on how the AI is doing at its tasks.
It could be like a safeguard if the AI's relationship with its human is something like a mutually beneficial relationship where we both need each other?
