There's no map per se. Very strange and easy to get lost. Maybe because it's two worlds interchangeable at any given time. But they could have done what Elden Ring did and have a map for the normal world and a layer to reveal the dead world.....with a press of a button either world could be revealed map-wise. I'm playing the game following a TH-cam walkthrough otherwise I'll continually be lost. It's hard enough following a walkthrough, far more without.

Why cant i plant a safe spot? Im in the exact same area as you it makes no sense
Do you have any Vestige Seeds. those are needed to make the little checkpoints
@EternityInGaming I've been having the same issue. I'll have seeds, but It won't let me lay one down at some flower beds.
