its insane you are the only 'reactor' to tamino songs, im proud say tamino is also a fellow belgian for me. hope he gets more exposure on 'the internet' by others to i think hes criminaly underrated and allot of people would love his work but just dont know about him. thanks for this video!
Thank you for watching and commenting! I appreciate it, and it helps get more people to see and hear Tamino. I think he is amazing. I will continue to support and promote Tamino, for sure. A big "Hello" to Belgium. Unfortunately, I never got to Belgium while I was in Europe, but I knew a few people from there back in the 80's and 90's. 🙂
Hi RJJ! I really enjoyed watching your reaction and analyzing the lyrics, I love Tamino, and "Babylon" is amazing. I had the opportunity to see him perform it live this past April when he came to Mexico for the first time. It’s so interesting to hear what others think about the meaning of the song. Your video made my night, thank you!
I think babylon is a metaphor for a relationship between two people, (Baring the rot in your gardens) like digging up in the memories, many of the lyrics have both love, regret, and pain for the fact that something so beautiful like Babylon which was glorious in it's times [just like their relationship he can't follow her to the end of their life time as in a consistent solid relationship] it ended vaguely. I guess the rain of arrows bit is the difficulties the city faced by occupation [or what the two lovers faced] and here [i wanna love tomorrow but i love whats left] well Babylon didn't have a second rise after and apparently neither did they, and he can't look forward to love a new person but just kept looking at the remaining of their time together.
You are the only reactor featuring his music. I stumbled over him 2 yrs ago on utube and was hooked. He has a huge amount of albums and still unknown here in USA. Like Asaf . 2 different artists but similar in lyrical writing. Yes, heads straight to my heart and soul.
Hey RJJ, so glad and proud you love the music of my fellow countryman (although he moved to New York about 1 year ago). I don't know where in Canada you live, but he has 3 tour dates in Canada in april. Since you love his music so much you might go see him live 😉. You might also check out his live performances of Babylon with his fantastic band. I find this even better. I was privileged last June to attend his gig in his home town Antwerp where he also performed Babylon. Here the link if you want to check this out (but there are also several other videos of this song with his band) th-cam.com/video/XI-8EeAuJMA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=f_1qu9Ji-lbz_jC0
Hi Nicky! Thank you for the link. I had a listen, and Tamino was as amazing as always. I loved the violin - well, all the instrumentation actually. I'll have to check out the locations for his tour and see if that is possible. 🙂
