Great discussion. Yes we're a small sme in South East and I've just folded it - 22 redundant. And there are a tsunami of fellow business owners about to do the same thing, particularly those in their 50s/60s. Complete failure by govt to take economic.implications seriously. Without a functioning economy there is no NHS. Go figure.

Normalcy? I'll settle for sanity. Normalcy is asking for too much.

As a uneducated Northener I didn't vote against the eu but against the south

And yet the south accounted for by far the biggest proportion of the brexit vote. The south west, the home counties. Pretty much everywhere in the south outside London voted leave. Speaking as a fellow northerner, If you did vote for brexit to get even with the south, then you have shot the north in the foot. That tends to be what happens when "misery lives company".

Niall Ferguson is great; I sought this video out. he is always good for thoughtful, intelligent explication and analysis -- he is among the best. however, I find some of his conclusions problematic to questionable to laughable. not that he is ever less than competent but he is far from strong in his analysis on C19. how can anyone really take C19 very serious; or, rather, if thinking the management was wrong then perhaps the best thinking is to first understand the problem: (a) the average age of C19 deaths is around 80 yo, (b) 94% of deaths are those with 2.6 co-morbidities and therefore were already 99% susceptible to any stressors, pushing them into terminability, (c) in the US, the C19 deaths, absent any (0) co-morbidities, totals

You are a treat. Read the info of the last couple of days Lockdown. No food coming in. Brexit as chosen. Possibly no deal. Get stuffed, my boy. Your vision and your choice. Your stupidity.
