I became an Army two weeks before this performance and saw this live, hehe^^ But this is the performance that launched Jimin into top tier idols and made him who he is today. The orange hair was a game changer. He got a lot of hate for the orange hair, but he looked AMAZING with it (still one of my faves, along with mint Yoongi). Another fandom tried to say that Jimin was "copying" another idol, but honestly, hundreds of Kpop idols have had orange hair, that's just ridiculous. But this performance definitely pushed BTS into further fame. They got A LOT of positive attention for this cover!

Actually they have another shinhwa cover from 2014 I believe for this love and T.O.P. Also ya’ll don’t understand how iconic perfect man was, like I watched this live when it happened and I never looked at jimin in that light before. As in a bias wrecker worthy way, he’s always just been cute and good at performances before perfect man, it changed my whole perspective of him as a performer. He was magical and charismatic and so hot, you gotta realise that we didn’t even see jimin do contemporary dance during this time, the first time he did that was on weekly idol, there was limited fancams and 2015 was the year they changed their style and concept so the very beginning of what bts is now and what jimin becomes!

@@Honey-je4pr exactly, like I said it my comment that day was such a turning point when it came to my perception of jimin. It’s really hard to explain to new fans I think because they’re so accustomed to the jimin today where he’s basically ethereal 24/7 (not saying he wasn’t before but he was definitely more rugged and trying his best to fit their concept) before the end of 2015 and run era jimin we never saw his true potential in my opinion. Run era unlocked such charisma and hotness from him. I could talk about jimins stage presence before and after for days Imma shut up now 😂
@@Willowswispss i joined the bandwagon in 2021, and looking at the older stuff, I was able to understand that each of their concept was way different than today... How could u expect flirtyness from yellow card jiminah.. though he was the only one lifting his shirt up😂

I wasn’t really talking about firtiness in a sense, more potential? I think 😂 to show how amazing of a performer he is in the concept he feels more comfortable with. 2015 allowed him to experiment with a softer concept starting with hyyh pt1, he started dying his hair from neutrals to red and orange and it just went from there!
Of course all the members grew into themselves but for me personally jimins growth into himself came at me like a truck lol.
*SHINHWA ARE LEGENDS* also i admire how their group ddnt disband NO MATTER WHAT. their leader ERIC keep Them 6. He give them allowance (mmbers). I hope soon someday, BTS will remain BTS too NO MATTER WHAT.

I'm so glad you watched this video, especially because you are a Jimin bias Marisol! I think that there are fancams for each or most of the members if you are interested. (The Jimin focus fancam by Jam Jam has 14M views) This is one of my favorite covers done by BTS. Another of my favorite covers is a song called "As I told You" (original by. Kim Sung Jae 1995). You should check it out I think you would enjoy it too. The costumes are totally different. It has a sad back story. The original artist had been part of duo group but they broke up and the 23 year old made his solo debut at a music show that was really well received but he passed away that night under suspicious conditions. If you're interested in the back story, search for Crazy Grace Kim Sung Jae.

Yes SHINHWA really are like the Backstreet Boys of Korea! They have a very similar boyband sound of the 90s. They are still going strong like them too! I met some of the SHINHWA members when they came to KCon in LA in 2015. BTS’s performances and admiration towards them also made me want to listen to them too! 😍 I love that you guys are reacting to them as well! 👍🏽

Shinhwa was the Nsync of their time. I discovered them in 2016-- In terms of brotherhood and crackhead-ness, they are similar to BTS, but without social media. Really funny guys.
Great precurser to kpopdom today. And oh, trivia-their leader Eric Moon (now an actor) was also their official english speaker :-)
Shinhwa was my first kpop group without knowing it. It was still in cassette player, and I loved it. Kpop wasn't even a thing in my country, usually Chinese and Japanese music is big but not s.korean yet. I was still in either junior high/senior high and had a hobby of buying new cassette players of songs and styles that I haven't listened to.
This was such an iconic performance, thanks for this familia!! Marisol was right, in no time other idol groups would do the same for BTS. They're actually starting now, have you seen Astro, Pentagon and other group's members came together to perform Idol.

As far as I know, they performed as 6 because Shinhwa only have 6 members. and I must say, they slayed this performance. and Shinhwa members (Minwoo and Dongwan) openly proud of BTS and said that they really did a great job while watching this performance.

Ah Shinhwa!!! That is the first Kpop group I ever listened to!!! Someone sent me their "Venus" MV and I fell in love. That is me, give me great visuals and extraordinary dance and I am HOOKED! I went back and checked out all their music and was happy to be part of all their come backs in the years after "Venus". Never disappointed in how they make music. When I saw BTS made a cover, I screamed like a little girl. Shinhwa are definitely legends. In fact, the meaning of their name means "myth or legend". Check more of them out, like "Venus". It is classic!

Just as an additional tidbit to the BTS cover: Shinee were in the crowd watching and grooving and lip-synching to the song. Shinee debuted 5 years before BTS, so to see that Shinhwa had retained such popularity for multiple K-pop generations is really neat.
