Nice save on the sheepie. I got out to the beach in Tampa yesterday & got the season's first pomp. He bit on 'fish bites" with a piece of shrimp. It was 14" at the fork & then he was delicious on the fork.
I hope you remembered to tell the pompano to come north to Cape San Blas. I'll be expecting them from May 15-22nd. They sure are delicious aren't they?
My son caught a Yellow Jack when he saw 7 years old. We smoked the Jack that night. It was awesome tasting. Yum Yum Can’t believe you worked that hard & then throw it back in the water. Grrrrrrrrrr
Enjoyed the Catch!! Nice Jack...no problems with catch or release!! Plus the crowd enjoyed your catch as Well. Nothing better than having a supporting cast!
Jack videos are my absolute favorite and it’s not even close. Since I only get to surf fish a few times a year, I love to target whatever is biting lol
Awesome Sheeper , but that was a sweet Jack. Great video Brother. If anyone knows fishing , they'll understand why you released the Jack that way. Be Safe.
That’s awesome brother! Im counting down the days to come down the Gulf shores and fish June 5th! I got 2 Halcos in the mail yesterday. Cant wait to try them out!
fishing on the pier is the best way to go cuz nowhere else are you gonna get a standing ovation as you bring up the catch! thanks for doing this, that was fun! 👍🐟🐠🐋🦈🦑❤️😆
I’m on the space coast. The Jacks are crazy over here too. Top water is so fun. We will even pitch a hookless spook just see how many will try to pick it up and give a tug! When they blitz they are intense for sure. Have hooked two fish on one lure before. That’s a hand full. Nice vid! Thanks.
I got stung on my back, legs and torso by a Portuguese Man of War in shallow water off a beach in Mombasa Kenya when I was six. I can still recall the pain vividly and that was 65 years ago! Don’t underestimate them!
jelly fish & PMof war sting remedies-TOBACCO JUICE>works every time, trust me had a PMOW sting me on my thigh very badly 17 yrs ago Port Aransas, Tx-put chewing tobacco juice all on my leg, in 1 hr completely healed!!
I want to say thank you for your videos and educating me on surf fishing for Whiting. I was at Hilton Head island this week and I used your techniques on catching whiting and I was pretty successful 👌
Mr. Crevalle gave ya a work out fer sure . Great catch and release ! Also good timing with the storm on the way . Yer Penn Slammer 3 made short (?) work on him . Tom Daytona Beach, FL. 18, April 2021 .
I watch pretty much every video from you brant and cameraman ron. I'm sorta envious. I haven't saltwater fished in over 30yrs since my days living west coast Canada.
My favorite here in central Illinois is Flathead and Blue catfish. Hoping to get my first chance at salt water fishing in June. Keep up the great content. We never miss a video!
Favorites >> King and Spanish Macs, Trout & Reds, Flounder, Cobia when thery are running the beach/pier. Caught many off PC Beach piers. Great Jack.. Lots of fun ....
Sheepshead was definitely nice. Nice Jack too. We get them piled up on the Freeport jetties, Galveston North Jetties, and the Galv Surf from about May-August. I hooked an early one this past Monday making his way south west.
Holy cow what a nice Jack Crevalle! To have fought & securely brought it in from a pier. Pretty phenomenal & impressive. On top of being chased by a shark! Great video!!! Right on 🤙🏻💯🎣
Just got back from Destin Florida. Made some pompano rigs like you showed and fished the beach with fresh shrimp with fish bites. Only caught 3 pompanos but they were 14-16 inches. Released them but with I would of kept them and eaten. Very rough beach waves. Can’t wait to come back.
Jacks fun to catch, one of toughest fish for their size. Agree they are not good to eat. Caught one about the same size as yours on a bait caster for bass and took a long time to land. Seeing a feeding blitz where an acre of water erupts in fish is unforgettable.
What size of rod do you recommend for throwing from the pier? I have a couple of 7ft medium heavy rods paired with some vanford 3000’s I picked up that I throw some spoons with from the beach. I don’t really know if those are appropriate for the pier. My other options are 2 Pen battle 5000’s with a much stiffer rod but they don’t throw spoons as well. I’m still learning this new area of fishing. Any advice would be great. Would love to meet up with you one day. My in laws have a condo in Perdido Key. Last week I caught 8 pompano in 3 days of fishing . It was a great week! Please respond with any tips!
Snook are my favorite, funny thing is I was just down the beach from you fishing after I left J&M. First time in that area I’ll definitely be back again.
I remember having fun catching jacks at the old dog river pier by the bridge not the beachcomber side of the bridge when I was 10 years old, during the day I'd play around catching them while catching crabs for the night I'd have an half of ice chest full of crabs fishing for reds and drums I'm 55 now and sure miss my younger days fishing is my main hobby
Mines was like a 2½ft jack off a dock seen them moving that water tossed a white paddle tail on them and fish on! Fun fish to catch and they are small but strong fishes.
Best/most consistent place I've found for jacks is bay side on Pelican Spit in Dauphin Island, AL. Schools push baitfish into the shallows. It's a haul to get there though.
Roll Tide. You are one of my favorite fishermen. Love some Asian guys on the west coast too because they forage awesome as well as fish but you are my favorite gulf fisherman and I think a guide for hire too if I remember right. Alabama Roll Tide.
Caught my first giant jack last week in the flats. It inhaled my topwater and had to chase it around on the boat. Wish I had heftier gear to get it in fast, but wasn’t expecting it. Probably the best fight I’ll ever have in the bay. Still looking for that jetty jack. I’m in TX
I've somehow only caught Jacks in Costa Rica and i'm in Florida...they should be everywhere. Goal this spring/summer has gotta be to snag one on a popper of spoon.
The Gulf State park pier is a bomb. We I use to catch trout, croaker, blue fish, shark, stingray. I mean like a lot of different types of fish there. Sadly the pier was closed and I couldn't go fishing there. Plus I live in Texas so it's about a 10 hour drive, but now that's it's open and seeing Bama Beach catching some decent fish, I might go back there this summer.
Nice job beach bum keep up what you are doing I always can’t wait for when you upload a video do some more Pier fishing it really interesting to watch or do some more More big fish fishing off the beach anyways hope you are doing are well and maybe we can fish one day together when I go down to Florida
The last time we were on that pier, there were pelicans everywhere at all the sinks and cleaning tables waiting to be fed handouts. I don’t know if those facilities were built back from the hurricane, but those pelicans were very tame and posed with my wife up close.
Targeting snook right now here in the Tampa Bay Area of Florida . I will take what I can get obviously. I have yet to catch a Common Snook here in Southwest Florida . Been here for 2 yrs now . Caught my first Red Drum and some monster trout so far in 2021 . I need that Snook to cross off my species list .
Good job on the jack 👍 If you don't mind me picking your brain: What size x-rap are you using? What size and brand single hooks are you using to replace the treble hooks?

That sheepshead catch was absolutely crazy
It just amazes me how much fun you, Brant, and Ron have. First vids I look for every day
Its nice to see jacks like this again. Reminds me of the old days in Southern Florida.
Awesome Sheeper , but that was a sweet Jack. Great video Brother. If anyone knows fishing , they'll understand why you released the Jack that way. Be Safe.

Good show, that Jack was a real winner. He will get bigger and be a lot more fight for another fisherman or Fisherlady.
That was a good catch brother! Jack’s fight like heck!
I’m on the space coast. The Jacks are crazy over here too. Top water is so fun. We will even pitch a hookless spook just see how many will try to pick it up and give a tug! When they blitz they are intense for sure. Have hooked two fish on one lure before. That’s a hand full.
Nice vid! Thanks.
100% correct way to release a jack. That was quite a drop, but the fish swam straight off. What's to complain about? Awesome video brotha!
I got stung on my back, legs and torso by a Portuguese Man of War in shallow water off a beach in Mombasa Kenya when I was six. I can still recall the pain vividly and that was 65 years ago! Don’t underestimate them!
Can't believe i avoided them when I was a Kid on Miami Beach. Saw them all the time.
jelly fish & PMof war sting remedies-TOBACCO JUICE>works every time, trust me had a PMOW sting me on my thigh very badly 17 yrs ago Port Aransas, Tx-put chewing tobacco juice all on my leg, in 1 hr completely healed!!
I got stung on the hand Because I popped it
Yeaaaaaah buddy! Putting some.massive muscles on that Jack! Had that crowd going nuts! Great control on that fight brotha!
Beach Bum with a standing ovation from the pier crowd!
Great shot of toes over the pier! You were stressing! And that jack, wow! I would have given you a standing ovation myself!
Dude - you are an animal! Way to work the pier and a blitz and not piss everyone off - a true pro at work. From one pier rat to another - Good Job!
Great video! Nice score on the sheepshead
Nice JC! Excellent catch! Great video!! Stay Safe and Healthy!!
I want to say thank you for your videos and educating me on surf fishing for Whiting. I was at Hilton Head island this week and I used your techniques on catching whiting and I was pretty successful 👌

I was hurting just watching! Awesome job keeping him out of the pilings! Thanks Matt
My favorite here in central Illinois is Flathead and Blue catfish. Hoping to get my first chance at salt water fishing in June. Keep up the great content. We never miss a video!
Its funny seeing my home town (Bay Minette) on the weather app but def gotta get out to the pier & get some fishing in
Favorites >> King and Spanish Macs, Trout & Reds, Flounder, Cobia when thery are running the beach/pier. Caught many off PC Beach piers.
Great Jack.. Lots of fun ....
Great video. I have caught so many Jack's at the fairhope pier growing up, fun fish. My favorite fish to catch now is king mackerel. Super fun..
That was a BEAST!!
You didn’t even have time to watch it Cameraman Ron😂
@sawyer CMR only skips to the good parts and kills watch time.
@@sawyeralexander06 I may or may not have had insider information about a fish! Lol
@@BamaBeachBum lol not true, unless I’m looking for a a recipe!
@@CameramanRon hahaha. It’s almost like...you know Beach bum or something. Idk though😄
Dude...gottta love the Snow Birds and Kids standing around watching!
That's one hell of a fightin fish, especially on a pier! Good catch bro
Great catch! Hope to do the same on the pier next week at OBX, NC...
Jacks are a blast to catch! 🤘🏻

Great video that was a bigggg jack. I am looking for a peir and shore tutorial for black drum I want to learn how to catch those!
Love the show you need to do more like this one
Man that jack had that reel screaming. Nice catch. As far as what I like to target that would be reds and specks.
Haters going to hate. You keep doing you bud. I love the content and love seeing the family in the videos. Keep up the great work. Appreciate it.

My favorite fish to target is Mangrove snapper. We have them in downtown Corpus Christi. Caught them up to 18 inches.

65lb braid Because I wanna FEEL IT.
Stay bummy!
Good job on your first jack of the year 👏 🐟

Good to see you packing your own dip net on the pier...
Great catch on both fish.

What was the fish at 4:32 or so just above your right hand? Was that the fish you were telling to get it? Was big whatever it was....maybe shark.
Since I live in Central Texas. I love targeting large mouth bass. Although reds are a good fish to target when I get to go to the coast
Looks like you had a blast
Nice work! Would love to come down and try surf fishing some time… far different then fishing in the Pacific Northwest
Any fish on line is awesome thanks for the video
Speckled trout in the surf sight casting to them can’t beat it great video
What kind of reel is the one with the gold handle and is that a upgraded reel handle.
My favorite fish is the one on the end of my line. Had beer battered crappie for supper that was caught today.
I've somehow only caught Jacks in Costa Rica and i'm in Florida...they should be everywhere. Goal this spring/summer has gotta be to snag one on a popper of spoon.
I'm going down to Narrva beach this weekend it will be my second time fishing in salt water and I can't wait
What can I target and what do I use for surf fishing in Destin around the end of October
I went out last weekend caught a 15 pound jack on some live mullet off the pier a nurse shark on balliho and a 33 inch snook
I love it when you throw them back!
Great video, one of my favorite fish to fight, its like catching it cousin Mr. Pompano on steroids,,great job,,,Stay Safe God Bless,,,,
In Saltwater my favorite is Jack Crevalle, or tuna family. In Freshwater it’s common carp.

Liked and Subbed.
Smallmouth Bass are some of my favorite fish to catch, they put up a good fight for their size. Tight lines!
Love jacks. Pound for pound one of the toughest fish. Great catch and from a pier.
Great catch!!!
Nice fish! Worth the wait. Great fight.
Had to work hard for that one! Nice catch!
great stuff. subscribed. enjoying ur videos all the way from south africa👌
Dang!!! Sweet fish! Congrats!
I love catching all sorts of fish
Targeting snook right now here in the Tampa Bay Area of Florida . I will take what I can get obviously. I have yet to catch a Common Snook here in Southwest Florida . Been here for 2 yrs now . Caught my first Red Drum and some monster trout so far in 2021 . I need that Snook to cross off my species list .
I got nervous when he was switching the rod around the poles. Lol don’t drop that nice setup. Always love your videos
Congrats 👏. That looked like a blast.
Good job on the jack 👍
If you don't mind me picking your brain:
What size x-rap are you using?
What size and brand single hooks are you using to replace the treble hooks?
Size 12 and this one came with single hooks stock.
Thank you for the info. I haven't kept up with all the newer Rapala offerings. I see single hooks on several versions now. I much prefer single hooks.
Awesome video, that is my favorite place to fish on the pier.
Where is this pier located?
Great fish that was an awesome fight
Nice Toes Beach Bum....Great video!!!!!
so you knew this fish, by name and waited 2 days for him! DAMN!!
Nice one.. Jack are very strong. Would like to hear your thoughts on targeting a cobia.
great fish brother...love your channel..
Nice jack. I can’t believe you got another one.
