Unsealed i was born in 1999 but i’m still normal and think Brunel is one of the top 5 British people ever, i agree most modern “inspirations” are nothing like the Brunel breed of extraordinary people
does anyone know the title for the piece of music being played during the Box Tunnel bit? the ticking clock piece? - I think its by Pete Namlook but cannot remember the actual title.
If those little hills are a problem then Imagine trying to build a railroad in western Canada lol Britain looks so flat compared to British Columbia. I get the feeling Brunel wouldn't be worried about that though, he was hardcore!
As an engineer myself, Brunel is my hero.
B. loved his cigars. His custom coach had a custom cigar box that held 50 cigars!
A brilliant man - Brunel was a rather good man too
3:20 No but it does shines out of his arse whenever I look at his railways. Genius pure genius!
7:00 That's Under Ice by Kate Bush if anybody's interested.
Freud also said:"Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar."
The length of the hill is much more important when a perfectly level railway is the goal. A thin and tall mountain is easy to tunnel through.
A hero of mine since I was a young child. Makes me sad to think the millennial generation looks up to Stormzy and Zuckerberg.

Brunel shaped the 19 and 20th century, he changed our modern world as well. I always w9ndered where people like him have gone
