Hello...my husband and I made this recipe to go on our hotdogs for the 4th of July and it turned out awesome...even without the bouillon. Thank you for sharing your recipes with us! Have a wonderful day!!!
Hi there! 👋🏻 I'm so happy to hear that you made it and that you loved it! You're very welcome and I really appreciate you watching. Hope you have a great day also!
I just made it and its very good on it's own! I've been cooking all day before the heat wave hits so that next week I can get by with the microwave and the air fryer. I saw your recipe and realized I had part of an onion in the fridge and homemade catsup getting really old - exactly 6 ounces. Since I was already in the kitchen I simmered without a lid and did not have to drain, I think I used less oil maybe. I used up some beef broth rather than water and my pan was big enough to fry the onions and BTB on one third with the ground beef on the other two thirds. It helps that my floor isn't quite level to keep the oil in the third with onions. I had no cayenne on hand but added a 1/2 tsp of homemade sweet chili paste. I can't wait to try it on hot dogs later in the week!
Thank you so much! So like it was meant to be! I go a little overboard with the oil, but I like to let as much as possible soak in to the meat 🤣 sounds like some good modifications! Enjoy and thanks for watching 😀
I made this recipe yesterday! Well ok, I didn't have hot-dogs. I just made the minced meat. And holy moly! It surprised me! In a very, very good way! I never thought about adding ketchup and mustard to it! Was delicious I say! CHEERS! o7
Awesome! That's okay if you don't have hot dogs... It's good just in a bowl, on top of hamburgers. (That's how we do it in the south... We will put chili on top of anything 🤣) Glad I can bring a little bit of the Southern cooking halfway around the world 😁 that makes me happy! Cheers!
Hi there! Your videos are darn good I must say! Keep it up! I can see this channel grow immensely! Thanks for all the recipes! Cheers from Poland! o7 PS. if it ain't much of a problem, it would be nice to add the ingredients weight/volume in grams/milliliters also in the description ^^
Thank you so much! You're very welcome and II appreciate you watching in Poland! I have a program that hopefully I can get soon that will allow me to do all the conversions for weights, etc also.
I will definitely be making this. It’s dog time. (BTW. If you have too much grease in a pan and you aren’t going to save it. Just fold up a paper towel and put it on the side of the pan after turning grease to that area. It soaks up pretty well.) you’ll lose less spice or anything else if you separate the grease. You had enough to use a baster! Lol. Still turned out looking wonderful
I hope you enjoy it! Normally, I will save it and cook with it, but because I messed up and put the spices in everything would have tasted like chili 😂 Good tip about the paper towel! Let me know when you make it! I hope you enjoy 😁
You're welcome! I'm glad you appreciate me being real. I'm sure I'll get a comment somewhere that I should have just rerecorded the whole thing so it was perfect, but I'm not perfect. I appreciate you watching anyway 😁 nobody complained, even though I did mess up... Still turned out really good, but definitely take the grease out first 🤣
This is very similar to the way I make mine. I was grossed about at first Addison’s water to it but it does make for a perfect consistency. I make a huge batch and freeze in small portions.
Yeah, I was too. Found an old recipe for chili in a cookbook from the early 1900s and decided to give it a shot. Adding the water is definitely the secret for the consistency. I still keep a few bigger chunks of meat in mine, because I like it that way, but most break it down into real tiny pieces.
@@southernketo that’s exactly what I do too. You are right, the water is the the key to the perfect consistency…. Like my favorite Texas Pete chili sauce 😊
@@southernketo Who you telling? Every time I see something on TH-cam I feel like I can't live without it. I just ordered a candy dipping fork and I don't even make candy!
Oh yes! I can think of a lot of things to do with this! One thing I thought of right away to top it off with is avocados. But I think this would be good naked, too-just the sauce. Yummy! You may have nailed your friend’s “secret” recipe. 😀
Oh man! Avocados... I'll be heading to the store shortly. Great idea! She still has something in there I can't quite figure out, but I'll make sure to mention that when she watches this video I'm going to need her recipe 🤷♂️
@@southernketo Believe it or not, I do. And I don't even know why. I think I was going to make one of the Keto Twins ' recipes, but forgot which one. This is how Gramma rolls.
We're going to be going camping later on this month and I'm definitely meal prepping this for everyone!! Plus bringing your rub for the chicken and your coleslaw! If anyone says it's hard to stay keto camping ,I disagree and honestly most everything is eaten by non keto family and they don't know the difference 😅
Where you going? I think most people eat mostly keto when they're camping anyway and don't even know it 😂 lot of eggs and bacon is what I normally see.. I love doing full keto feasts when we camp
@southernketo us too! We bring the Blackstone 😁 We live in the Fingerlakes Region of NYS. We're actually camping someplace new this trip. Conesus Lake but the Adirondacks is our favorite area to camp and also Keuka lake and Watkins Glen
Since you’re such a good ol southern boy, a lot of dishes I miss use a roux. I’ve not been able to find anything to substitute that comes even close, you?
Its on the list! I just ordered Hero Hot Dog buns because after watching this video the first time (a few days ago) I was craving a chili dog with kraut! I used to eat them when I was pregnant with our daughter, it was my go to until the indigestion kicked in when I got huge. Lol. Anway, thoughts on a chopped jalepeno in the chili? Yes, I still have jalepenos, habeneros, and something called a Cowhorn (which i s suposedly 100x hotter than a jalepeno).
Nice! Well, I like the Cowboy candy on mine just because it gives it a little bit of sweetness to offset the heat. But if you're eating something hundred times hotter than the jalapeno, I guess you don't need any offset 🤣
@@southernketo Made chili dogs last night and it was awesome! Sadly, I was out of cowboy candy so I’ll have to make some more CC and then have the leftover chili (which I froze)! But YUMMMMM! So good! Thank you!
@@paularaulinaitis3068yum! Oh, that's a tragedy 😳 The cowboy candy and the chili both freeze great. Might want to throw some of that cowboy candy in the freezer next time too 😁
I like the all beef ones from Aldi or any all beef, pretty much. The only ones are a pretty good size. If I don't go to Aldi, I just get whatever all beef is on sale, cuz I'm cheap 😂
Dude!
"Southern cooking" IS American culture.
Thanks for the Keto vids.

A tip for dealing with sticky stuff in measuring cups: oil the inside of the cup lightly; then fill to measure. Stuff comes out so much easier!
Great idea! Thank you. Hopefully I can remember that next time 😁

Being from Chicago, I add poppy seeds to my hot dogs, and a sprinkle of celery salt...
Yum! I had a good friend of mine from Chicago that showed me the proper Chicago style hot dog ran through the garden...😉 Had celery salt on it as well
I add hamberger meat to dry hot fry pan, so grease come out of lean meat, no need to wasye olive oil, then fry onions in meat oil
