great work Dr Muggah! This will hopefully educate people who could make a change but decide not to do so because of the myths they have been told. It is a great example of how important education and the correct conveyance of information is in a world that is flooded by more and more random facts, news, information etc.

Whether immigration has happened or not?
Or whether immigration has brought in problems?
The former happened before, will happen now and continue in future. The latter is a question which needs to be addressed.

People flee the bombs UK and USA is dropping on them .
Refugees from Iraq ... after UK and USA started bombing them
Refugees from Vietnam ...after USA started bombing them
Refugees from Korea ...after UK and USA started bombing them
Refugees from Iran ...after UK and USA killed their prime minister in 1950s and put in power a dictator .
Refugees from Palestine ...after UK and USA messed that area up .
So people in UK , shut up about refugees when it is your government that is producing them .
Not to count in that UK was once ruling 1/3 world , invading other countries and now whine if some people from those old occupied countries move to what left of UK .

His actions could jepordise the case against the pedophiles and potentially let them go free because the defence lawyers could argue him publishing prejudicial information could sway the jury.
If people actually cared about ensuring the pedophiles see justice instead of virtue signalling about freedom of speech they would understand.

As great as all of this is, it's not enough. It will never be enough for some people. Even when faced with a wall of hard data and irrefutable facts, some people will always believe what they want to believe. And they will default to reacting emotionally instead of responding thoughtfully, as seen in the comments here.

    • @selcouth86
      @selcouth86 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Adam Smith I'd like to see those numbers as well, good or bad. But regardless, four years is a blip in the history of mankind. Incomplete data can be interpreted as propaganda, sure, but the burden is not on them to disprove the opposition's fear-mongering because any argument based in fear is not open to interpretation, it is propaganda. People can argue that global warming is just as much fear-mongering as a Muslim ban, except that involves discounting scientific consensus. There is no anthropologic consensus on Islam necessarily because all religions depend on the people believing in them. Such as the Christian immigrants who caused an actual crisis for American Indians. If Greece of all countries can pull its weight, than the influx must be manageable.

    • @NicolasCharly
      @NicolasCharly 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

selcouth86 4 years can have brought more than 1 million refugees just to one single country, so 4 years are not a "blip".

Do you accept that fact?

That's right, just call everyone who disagrees with you names.
Seems to be a very good tactic so far...
If good people don't address real problems, bad people will.
Answer me a question - if you found out that mass migration really did undeniably cause a whole raft of social and economic problems, would you admit that you were wrong and help to try to tackle the problems, or would you double down and still deny it anyway?
Dead simple question that most people never like to answer.
I ask this question of anyone who denies that something exists.
The answer (or lack thereof) is very telling.
"You would expect these cities to complain the most yet"
No you wouldn't, because they have cultures that are far more aligned than those "evil intolerant" places that are distant.
" it is you much further down the chain who is the most ignorant and intolerant who is complaining the most"
Again, those places are most affected exactly because they have very different cultures.
I don't want a population that 100% thinks that homosexuality is immoral and over 55% think it should be illegal, to move into the place where I live and begin voting.
I think that would be absolutely tragic.
      Don't you?

    • @ThunderChunky101
      @ThunderChunky101 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

"Thanks for showing everyone how intolerant you are."
Intolerant of what? People who hate gays? Yes. I have zero tolerance for them.
The paradox of tolerance isn't a paradox at all.
"There is no population that thinks 100% the same on any issue"
Yes there is, unless you don't understand basic statistics. If 999,999/1,000,000 people like jelly, that's 100% of people who like jelly.
Links to follow. I'll put them in a separate post so they're not auto spammed.
(I'll use left wing links like the Guardian so you don't poison the well).
"Let me ask you....How many citizens born in your own country think homosexuality is immoral or illegal?"
      Almost none.
In fact, I haven't heard anything homophobic since I was a child.
We're among the most tolerant places on Earth.
"I have a sneaking suspicion you might even be one of them."
That's because the only arguments in your arsenal are to lie, call names, and strawman.
I have supported equal rights for gay people since I was a child when it would have gotten you beaten up in school!
You seriously missed the mark here, I have been an equal rights campaigner since I was young, and have been very vocal in my support for equal rights for everyone, especially gay people who until recently couldn't get married, and I attended my first gay wedding shortly after it was made law.
If you want to call me names I can do the same. If you start slandering me again then I will do likewise and start calling you a racist Nazi KKK pedophile.
How about that? Where does that get us?
      Nowhere.
I am talking about CULTURE! Not identity. Ideas FFS!
I am multiracial myself and half my family are immigrants. They fled Franco and Hitler.
I have zero problem with immigration, I have a massive problem with mass unfettered migration because it is evidently *highly* destructive.
Importing millions of people who have absolutely no interest in the culture of the place they are moving to, and in fact actually resent that culture and want to change it, is a very quick path to mass civil unrest - possibly even civil war.
If good people don't address real problems, bad people will.
If you want a ridiculous government like Italy now have, then just keep pretending the problem doesn't exist and wait to see how people will vote. It's happening across Europe - mass migration is leading to mass intolerance.
Some cultures are incompatible with some others.
Stop trying to force them to bind.
      They will not!
I note that you ignored my question, which is very telling in itself.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and give you another chance to answer it.
"if you found out that mass migration really did undeniably cause a whole raft of social and economic problems, would you admit that you were wrong and help to try to tackle the problems, or would you double down and still deny it anyway?
Dead simple question that most people never like to answer."
Again, I ask this question of anyone who denies that something exists.
" If you don't want to be called ignorant then do something about it like educate yourself "
I'm not ignorant of anything. It's you who's ignorant.

Regarding the refugees, it is the desired outcome that refugees flee to the neighbouring safe countries with the goal of being relocated when the situation stabilises. Furthermore, there is a distinct difference between the mainly de facto economic refugees entering Europe and North America versus actual refugees fleeing war. This is something that is disregarded in this video and represents a critical aspect of migration to Europe and the USA.

John McLeod You don't understand that it is different in different locations. When Greenland and the Arctic is melting it will influence sea levels in the southern hemisphere and eventually much land will be under water. When the Antarctica melts we will see it in the northern hemisphere, but as people tend to live higher above the sea and the geology and geography of the seafloor is benefiting us, we will not see it very dramatically. Especially since the Arctic is melting more rapidly than the Antarctica.

Because sea level rising is something that speeds itsself up. The more ice melts, the warmer it gets (water absorbs more sunlight than ice), so it will speed up and eventually become unstoppable. That's why we need to stop it as quickly as possible

Wow, so there’s a lot wrong in this video.
    1. In the refugee map, they begin the presentation by showing a view of the whole globe. You can see a large number of refugees fleeing into Europe and into America, far larger than any next-door fleeing is happening in the Middle East. Yet, when they zoom in on Europe later on, they mess with the color correction AND show the times when the ABSOLUTE LEAST amount of refugees were fleeing to Europe.
    2. In the map showing Sea Level rise, they make it seem that entire city blocks will disappear due to a 2C rise in temperature. This is not the case, at most there would be a cm of water there during a rainy season, but it looks like they just completely fade a section of the city regardless of how much water is actually being flooded there. The truth is, people on coastal cities will have to learn to live with water. That means maybe a few cm of water during rainy seasons at most. If you asked me, a few cm of water every now again doesn’t construe Miami being “underwater”. And it isn’t a so-called unbiased data video without taking a jab at Trump! Now is it?
    3. The North Dakota fracking cluster does not generate more than one billion cars on the road. According to the SCC, it’s estimated that all power plants, including ones dealing with fracking, in North Dakota in 2013 generated around 1.4 billion tons of CO2 in the air, per year. “More than one billion cars” points to more than 6 billion tons of co2 per year, and taking into consideration that the entire state doesn’t even produce a third of that, I’m going to have to say that your numbers are wrong, BBC. Way wrong. I would estimate that you probably exaggerated by more than 50x.
If anyone wants to correct me on anything, feel free. Maybe I’ve made an error somewhere.

There are lies, damned lies and statistics. The assumptions baked into your creations, the scale of your representations, the time scale and other factors can all be used to distort the picture. Without detailed interpretation and normalisation of these images, they're just pretty curiosities.
