- This clip sees the end of the Generation Game, and then into a promo for UKTV (that I've edited down) with famous BBC personalities promoting the launch of the UKTV Network, expanding on the then successful UK Gold, which also relaunched, at the end is the line up on the then new 4 channel network.
Please note I do NOT have any episodes of the Generation Game, the recording started there, so don't bother asking. - บันเทิง
It's been 20 years since UKTV was launched.
Seeing them grow up is kinda hard. They changed a lot.
I HEARD that UKTV Style becomes Home in May and UKTV Gardens becomes Really in June
Another set of changes is on the way, UKTV has been purchased from Scripps Networks International earlier this year by Discovery Networks Europe, and the UKTV network is going to be split up with entertainment channels going to BBC Worldwide and factual channels going to Discovery Networks Europe.
Yesterday+1 has launched on Freeview HD where Vintage TV has vacated and is available to all viewers with Freeview HD equipment who can receive main high powered Freeview transmitters such as Winter Hill in North West England with good reception.
For those who are interested, and need to manually tune their equipment to receive the channel, it is transmitted on multiplex COM 7 using Channel 31.
Some Freeview HD equipment automatically updates itself and will update to include the new service.
This promo is pretty much the last thing I would have expected Jonathan Meades to agree to do.

Can you post the full version of uktv promo?
Before Brucie's The Generation Game, did it have Glen Allen's final announcement after the last showing of the UK Gold 'Gold Bars' ident?
I can’t recall whether the intro to The Generation Game was introduced in vision or with an ident, but Glen did sign off before it, that I do remember. Unfortunately I didn’t record it.
UK TV History is now Yesterday

@@MateusHonrado What Shows Were On UK Gold in 1997?
@@matthall3077 Several shows from the BBC.
@@MateusHonrado Like EastEnders The Sullivans Rentaghost George & Mildred Teletubbies Neighbours Blue Peter The Bill Crossroads And Bullseye?
@@matthall3077 Yes.
this was launched on me 7th birthday
In 1997 programmes like Dallas, juliet bravo, blake's seven, dr who, totp, elodordo, vicar of dibly, going for gold, Crossroads (Motel) were being repeated, in 1997, the Thames tv portion that liscenced the itv repeats on uk gold was bought out, so bbc shown content took over, with the exception of crossroads which they continued on with till it's finish. so the likes of itv shown content like sons and daughters, tales of the unexpected, Armchair thriller, The tomorrow people etc, all dissapeared.
Things like bbc shown primetime drama's such as knot's landing, first repeated in 1993 on uk gold, was re-shown later for the second time on uk gold from 8th nov, 1999, until april 2001 dallas was on auto repeat from 1992 until 2003 on uk gold, this life was repeated once on ukgold, but the likes of dangerfield men behaving badly, open all hrs, were very often repeated ad nauseum along with A'll creatures great and small, and district nurse.
You'd ave been seein' those in 1997.
Then from 2000 onwards endless only fools repeats!!! Right up to this day.
All the much wider more varied programming started to noticeably dissapear very late 90's early 2000's onward.
From 1992 until 1998 uk gold was a quite interesting widely varied channel that nose dived after the Thames sell off.
And thats all gone now. 1-11-98 to 7-10-08
MR BRITTAS!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yes. Sorry :D
And 25 years later still pumping out the same crap every day.
Yes post 1997 uk gold really declined, how many thin blue line, or dicker of vibly And only fools and orses repeats ad nauseum can one put up with, when they showed bbc and itv archive tv, 1992-1998 that was it's best ever phase.
The vortex at weekends was really great and sadly missed.
