@@williamstaylor5449 I love my AA-600. But if I were starting from scratch, like you are, I'd get the AA-650 Zoom. The reason is the Zoom have more sampling points. The AA-600 has only 80 sampling points. I know my 230 Zoom has up to 500 sampling points. I know the650 Zoom has more than 80 but I don't know if it goes up to 500? Either way, the 650 Zoom would be a better choice. Barry, KU3X
Solid collection of analyzers, Michael. We'll be releasing some amazing new stuff soon! Isn't it a good idea for Alan to be the first to review the novelty?

I have been vacillating on purchasing a RigExpert AA-55 Zoom or a NanoVNA. In your opinion, what what are your thoughts on the best first time purchase for an antenna analyzer?
Each of the units have their plusses and minuses. The NanoVNA definitely has more capability, frequency range and a huge cost advantage. However, it is definitely not as rugged, not as easy to use, and the display is not very readable in direct sunlight. The AA-55 Zoom is much more rugged, outdoor/daylight readable, and purpose built for amateur radio use. Of course, it costs a lot more. So it really depends on your tradeoff between cost and functionality/durability/usability.
@@w2aew Good thoughts! I'm leaning towards purchasing the NanoVNA simply because of what you pointed out cost versus frequency of use. After my little antenna project it will probably end up sitting on the shelf. Who knows.
In more than 90% of cases, techno bloggers who talk about RigExpert and nanoVNA in their training videos use RigExpert for personal purposes. Yes, RigExpert is more expensive. But if you want to use the analyzer for more than one and enjoy it, then the choice is obvious.
You do such an excellent job in all of your videos. You are akways accurate, concise and thorough.. Thank You for all the hard work in helping others..73
You do such good work at explaining things! Could you make some videos on how ARRL test rcvrs and xmitters, such as explaining RMDR, BDMR, phase noise and any others measurements that characterizes how good different tx/rx models are. etc; 73 Ken N8KEN
Is it possible to DELETE an entry from a particular location? When the unit comes from the factory, each memory slot says "VOID". How do I get back to VOID and delete a location?
Now you make me question if you can create a difference map of a new measurement and memory point… just wondering haven’t even gave a thought if that would be useful (hahahah 😂)
@@w2aew Yes, the Antscope software is perfect for that. If you load a saved sweep, you can run it again on the same antenna system and it will create a new sweep on the same graph in a different color. It's easy to see any changes over time. de WG2E.
AA-2000 Zoom allows you to display several graphs on the screen at once and clearly see the differences between them. And, of course, for these purposes, you can use AntScope for PC, Android and macOS.
Hello Alan - I'm sending you this question here as I don't know another way to reach you. I'd like to make a donation to you but I very much dislike Paypal and don't use it. If you have another way for me to do so please suggest it. I'm happy to mail you a check but would need to get your address which I can fully appreciate your not wanting to share on youtube. - Thanks - Jim
*Alan, thank you so much for another great and very helpful video!*
Great tools, aren't they. I have the 230 Zoom and the AA 600. They are so handy and easy to use. Nice video.

How is the AA-600 working for you? Thinking of picking one up (want the AA-2000, but it is out of my price range I think).
No doubt cool video, I agree completely!

Is there a way to have the Smith chart continuously and rapidly updating the way it does on the nanovna?
You can make it run continuously by hitting F-OK, but it won't update as rapidly as the nanovna.

It's only possible to delete all entries - not one at a time.

Not in the unit, but maybe with their AntScope2 software.
