I understand that Abacab isn't as adventurous as Foxtrott or Selling England, but I can imagine how fresh and modern it has sounded in the early 80's. Fans of their 70's outputs surely liked at least this song a little. Even the most pop oriented albums had one song that reminds us that they are a prog rock band like this one.
As someone who vastly prefers the Gabriel era, If there's one flaw I think Abacab has as an album, it's that it *is* adventurous and expirementel, and some of the experiments don't land. Anyway Dodo/Lurker is a fantastic song
5:09, 6:11 LOL
Before I had the lyrics, I swore that verse two began: "Darth Vader, agitator!" I was like, "Tony, Mike, and Phil were/are Star Wars fans??? Cool! And EMPIRE STRIKES BACK came out a year before ABACAB, so it makes sense!
Turns out it's "Dog baiter." Oh, well. But, hey, the elder Skywalker WAS an agitator, so it works that way, too! 😂
