Ok, audio fixed! 😅 xx
I think you're going to be miserable walking around Florence for 3 days in strappy sandals. Wear cute trainers w/ the skirt on the plane, and pack the sandals for evenings. A big colorful silk scarf is also your best friend when travelling... can be worn sooooo many different ways. ❤
Thank you! I was thinking the same thing!
Exactly what I was thinking. Personally hate the look of trainers with a skirt, so I’d probably take the whole look a bit more urban purely for practicality and go with a pair of black cotton cargo pants (breathes like a dream, pockets mean no day bag needed as you’re out seeing the sights, and the ones I have roll up and button into capris if it gets extra hot).
I’d pair them with trainers and then throw a short lightweight dress and sandals in the bag for evenings.
Writing from Florence, tbh I think anyone wearing dark colors would be miserable right now as it was up to 46 degrees just a few days ago. I would go for breezy outfits in pale colors and natural materials and for a pair of canvas tennis shoes (if you can stand closed shoes in the heat) and even a white umbrella to protect yourself from the sun, there have been days I wished I had one with me
@@ChiaraFrancioli I have a magpie approved shiny silver umbrella I carry with me a bunch in the summer. It’s Melanoma Foundation certified UV protection too, so no sunburns, fewer wrinkles, and a lot cooler.
Or wear cute Think, Haflinger or Birkenstock sandals. I live in my Think sandals. They have broad straps so I don't get blisters and they have a good footbed. They're also crazy red and green.
Careful, most churches or historic monuments in Italy require "modest clothing" to enter, so crop tops can be a problem. Although a light scarf used to cover the shoulders can fix the problem
Just unroll a big scarf as a cloak and cover yourself
They are a problem indeed. And if the scarf covers the shoulders, it won't cover your belly. Just take a couple of regular tees is my suggestion.
When I was little, on holiday at the sea with my granny (and forced to attend mass) I once saw an elderly lady in church that, just back from the beach, covered herself with her terry bathrobe. LOL
TRUTH
My thoughts exactly. Even on the plane there can be a dress code.
My thoughts too. Went with two friends 2 years ago and visited a church in Verona. I had my shoulders covered but they only had one scarf between them. They were allowed to wrap the scarf around them both. It was hilarious and thankfully noone was offended.
I would say: bring an extra pair of shoes.
If something happens (sudden breakage, sudden wetness due to rain) shoes can be hard to fix, clean, dry, replace, etc.
So always bring an extra pair.
Also: a button down shirt can be worn closed on its own, or open over another top.
Sounds like a good excuse as any to go shoe shopping on your trip 😉
It’s good for your feet to change shoes. Three days with the same shoes will leave you in pain, especially if you are walking a lot!
Also a shirt can help you meet dress codes if visiting religious buildings.
Scarf could do the shirt’s job and very useful on the airplane, shoes are fine, if it’s broken. Means time for shopping. Perfect timing for summer in Europe!
I like your advice. Thank you.
I've been in London in September for 4 days with a bag small like that. I love to travel with light bags in general! My advices are:
- pack clothes that don't crease.
- remember to pick up a plastic bag to put your dirty underwear and socks (or use a local one)
- leave medication's cardboard boxes at home
- take with you those small parfume samples.
- to save extra space put your foundation, night cream or other stuff in a contact lenses case (one of those with the two compartments). It contains more than enough for 1 week. And use a lipstick or coloured lip balm as blush as well!
Have nice (and light) holidays!
Omg the contact lense tip is absolutely genius!! I am in Brighton rn, core wardrobe is a challenge if it is freezing and extremely windy. I want to look good but also not be shivering all day..
@@anjakeller6612 the lense case was a game changer tip for me, glad you like it. Thermic t-shirt are perfect for cooler places. Uniqlo sells some cute ones which are not too sporty but warm and thin. Perfect for layering too and you can wash and dry them easily :)
Great tips! I would add the caveat that, depending on the medication (if it's a prescription), some countries require you to travel with it in the original container that has your name on the pharmacy label. Some controlled meds such as benzos and those for ADHD you have to be careful about how you travel with them
I always travel with a letter from the doctor listing my meds and that I need them while travelling.
@@KatieM786 also a good idea to check the local laws relating to ADHD meds! It was a surprise to me to find out on an ADHD video that not all asian countries (Japan, S. Korea for example) allow you to even bring the meds at all! Not a good way to start the trip by getting turned away at the customs
I have to do this all the time and the other secret tip is to wear the tight skirt under the flowy skirt or crop top under a flowy top with the sweater over it. Especially on the way home if I now need room for gifts in my bag
That's genius!
🤔 I think I will have to adopt this idea. I always have gifts to bring home.
I'd bring some rayon harem pants. My trips usually involve some sort of activity where pants are required, and those pants are easy to pack, cool in the summer, and don't really wrinkle. I'll also wear sneakers on the plane then pack sandals. They're flat so they pack easy, and sneakers are better if I'll be doing any hiking or long walks. If you have the right scarf, it can be worn in a bunch of ways, including as a skirt, and can be used as a blanket on the plane. I feel like a good scarf is a travel must have.
@@laracross1672 They're not usually that extreme you know. And I think Andrea would look really beautiful in something boho.
@@laracross1672😂 your comment made my day
I never thought of a hamster as efficient, but as soon as you said it it made so much sense haha!!
They fit the seeds in their lil cheeks so tidily 🥹
@elusivemayfly7534 yes, their cheeks can extend halfway down their bodies! It makes sense to call them efficient, I had just never thought about it before.
A hamster can stuff a week's worth of food in their cheeks.
Definitely a lightweight wool scarf/pashmina for the plane. I would pack the sandals and wear chunky white sneakers for walking in Florence. (Pro tip! 🌟 DO NOT walk long distances in Italy in flat sandals - you’ll die. Save those for going out to dinner after your day of sightseeing.) Then bring a tiny shoulder bag for your phone and other essentials for your days out so you can leave the cabin bag at the hotel. Absolutely swap the second black skirt for a pair of wide-leg linen pants. Chic but super comfy, can dress up or down. And I would throw in a casual fitted tank top or t-shirt as well - you’re going to get sweaty and want to change your top later in the day.
You nailed it
Yes to the smaller purse!
Absolutely nailed it 👌 tofucat + andrea combo genius 👏
Love this! Although Andrea is teeny weeny and I’m not 😂. Here’s my packing: Trousers, trousers incase I rip or mess up the other trousers, skirt incase it’s hot, another skirt incase I don’t want to wear the skirt I packed, 3,4, f**k it - 5 pairs of shoes just incase, tops for every weather scenario. Cancels trip because it’s too stressful and I have nothing to wear 🤣
😂🤣😂that really sounds like me. It’s exhausting 😆
🤣🤣🤣
;)
lordy this is me😂
This is how to do it: pack in one bag everything that's absolutely mission-critical: an extra bottom & pair of footwear, 2 tops, undies, shawl, book, jewelry, camera or smartphone, charger, toiletries etc. In another bag, put everything else that *might come in handy* . On departure, pick up the 1st bag & leave the other home! 😄
I would add a hat to the travel outfit because it’s hot and sunny in Florence, I would fly in a sneaker and pack the sandals, and I would add a pair of shorts or airy palazzo trousers to the bag. And an airy overshirt of some sort for those of us who would burn crispy in the Italian sun in half an hour wearing only crop tops.
I needed this! I am a chronic over packer. Truly an anxiety monster over having “everything I need” for myself and anyone traveling with me. Or someone I don’t know but might make friends with, like what if my seat mate needs an Advil, and I almost packed that?? It’s bananas
I’m going to challenge myself to pack this light for a three day trip. I’ll start with a car trip in my state and work my way up. Thanks, Andrea! 😊
That's always a good start, plus if you're near a Walmart/target/mom and pop shop, you can always get them and return the things you didn't need/use. I did that once when I went to a wedding in another state
Two bottoms, three tops, that's what I take, for a week or for a month. Shower sandals. Depending on where I'm going, a coat, a jacket, or a raincoat and/or a bathing suit.
I'd rather wash my tops and undies out at night than lug them around with me.
When you travel with your car, you can take whole trunk of stuff. It is different when you don't, and need to carry those things.
I’m a chronic over-packer, too! (This last trip it worked out - I had even packed a little nightlight & my elderly aunt needed one for her room.) Definitely going to take Andrea’s advice next time, though!
Once you start travelling a lot, you learn how many things you need and you pack lighter and lighter every time. It happened to me, I did a bit of a capsule wardrobe when it was trendy and since then I can literally do with one small suitcase for a solid month if I have somewhere to wash my stuff
I was just in Florence, I'd add a light scarf for churches and swap the knee length skirt for the maxi because of the heat. Also extra underwear and shorts. The sparkly sandles are great if you can walk 15-20k steps in them. I would love to find some that comfortable! I mostly wore light sneakers. Those cobblestones are rough.
Wrinkle free thin fabrics are key for me, as are black leggings, at least one dress and several tops. Always extra undies, and extra shoes. Simple jewelry, basic cosmetics, one perfume, and Downy wrinkle release spray just in case.
Packing a bar or two of castile soap/universal soap in a tin or zip lock bag is my go-to tip. You can use it to wash your hair, face, hands, body, and even some of your clothes. This saves you needing to pack bottles of liquid. It saves on space, weight, and liquid restrictions, and it won't leak everywhere. Game changer!
Being European, I also make sure I have a fold-up raincoat in my backpack at all times! No good working out your fashion looks only to get them absolutely wet through with rainwater!
I always carry a small soap in saran (used & leftover from hotel) but love the idea of soap (castile, you mentioned, but definitely mixed reviews on using for shampoo!) Almost every single hotel provides tiny shampoos, or at the very least "shower gel", which may leave hair softer than castile & can definitely do shampoo duty,
along with everything else you mentioned!
Sunglasses. Filter water bottle. Money/cards.
Another option for longer stay: take what basics you need. Buy clothes while there. Mail them home upon departure.
This is probably only relevant if the OP was not trying to save money in the first place by buying a basic airfare without overhead cabin lugguage. To waste time and mail anything costs more than her flight probably. Even for longer stays, one can survive on minimal outfit changes.
@@GildedFashion I read an article recently where a lady allegedly posted the contents of her suitcase to Florida from UK and both ways cost less than the airline baggage fee for one way
@@KatieM786really? Because my sister sent me a fairly small package from California to Italy and it cost over $100 (and then i didn't even get it because of custom issues, thankfully they sent it back to her).
Filter water bottle. Saves on upset tums. Hmm. Well that is something I have to organise for myself soon..
For those of us who are on the plus side, our clothes take up more room because there is more fabric. I try to find things that will coordinate well and as you said, wear the heaviest stuff on the plane. I don’t fly anymore but I try to do the same thing when we drive. There’s only so much room even in a large SUV! As we are both over 60, we have a lot of medical equipment and stuff to take that takes up so much room. Right now with the change of seasons, we are going on a weeklong trip where the temperature is going to be 80 F on day one and then all the other days in the 60s and rainy. So layers is the way to go but that takes up more room. Summer travel
Is the easiest.
My daughter and I love watching you! She's 4, and now she styles her own outfits trying to mimic your accent and mannerisms. It's precious. Thank you for being so much fun!
Aww! ❤
🥰 Wow! It's times like this I'm really sorry I never had children of my own ... But at least I have my two nieces & now a gorgeous great-nephew!😂
Ummmm I need to see this!!! 😂😂😂
Oh my GOD that is so cute 😄
As a woman, I'm absolutely tone-deaf to fashion. Fashion? Not my cup of tea! But... you just made it fun. And easy. Very much enjoying your channel and absolutely in love with you! ;) Keep on shining!
I'm in the same boat! I'm 32 and know NOTHING about fashion 😅 my fiancé when we were dating used to call me his "little gremlin hobo" 😭😂(lovingly of course) but after a huge overhaul on my outdated wardrobe and watching Andrea I now love to customize my dresses and skirts with belts and such and feeling more confident in my outfits! My fiancé has been so proud 😁😁 hahaha
@MissFoxxy91 Oh darn! Haha! x) Bet he has! I'm usually a jeans-and-big-sweaters-kinda-gal. But since digging into it a little, I now understand my body type (gamine) and why certain things make me look shorter than I am. Fear I have to hurt Andrea coz no croptops, dramatic frills, shoulderpads, or puffed sleeves for me, as they emphasize my wider shoulders and relatively short torso, despite being 1,72m (or about 5"6'). But things make so much more sense now. :)
Same dude
If you have a maxi/midi skirt bring a belt(preferably a wide belt) and if you pull the skirt above your chest and put the belt on boom you have a dress as well as a skirt
2 things I'd add - bag for dirty clothes, and a pair of flip flops for showering. I never touch a strange bathroom floor with bare feet ‼️ _Not Good_
Me too! Haha
Laundry bag is a must!
😂
I suggest an extra large SPF 50 scarf/shawl/ wrap from a company such as Coolibar. Very light weight and total sun protection, can also be used for warmth, if needed. Goes with everything, and no, I don't work for Coolibar:) just have had skin cancers removed, so I'm really careful now.
Sun protection is no joke - I'm sorry you had to have cancers removed and I'm glad you're being careful now. I wear factor 50 all year round
My sense of style is like that of a college freshman, and I overpack like it’s a contest, but I am still able to pride myself on being able to pack for a four-day weekend in one JanSport backpack (a furry cheetah print, because I’m not a total sewer goblin). These are GREAT tips!!
Love! Just remember to pack something with more coverage if you plan to visit any of the churches in Florence. They won't let you in with bare shoulders, and, I'm assuming, bare midriff. ❤
No short shorts, no mini skirts, no bare shoulders, no crop tops, no cleavage 😂
Wise as an owl and efficient like a hamster 😂 love it
Watching Andrea's content is so relaxing, educational and entertaining ❤
Perfect for
Florence in the summer! The skirts are very similar though. I would consider one more colorful option. And what if it’s cold or rainy? I would want to take something to keep me warm.
Love the outfits though! You’re fantastic!
Planes are usually cold. Just add a warmer item to your plane ride look 😁
I love taking 2 outerwear options, in this case I'd go for a practical raincoat and a light zip-up hoodie (or in winter, a weatherproof winter coat and a heavier hoodie). If it's wet, raincoat! if it's just a little cold, hoodie! If it's actually cold? Both! I've also been known to take 2 hoodies so I can change up the look, since I'm always cold. To save space in limited luggage, you can still "wear" both on the plane or other transit, but take them off en route- hoodies make pretty good pillows.
I thought the same with the skirts. I would take a pair of floaty pants or shorts or a totally different colour/shape skirt instead
@@stephallen9819I would take both the pants and the shorts. You never know what situation you end up in that requires something else then a skirt. But I’m an overpacker for sure
Even if it is rainy in Florence in the summer, it will not be cold.
I literally always pack a swimsuit, regardless of where I go. It seems like every time I think, "There's no way we'll swim!" then we always do 🤣
Love your pets, cameos . Thanks for the summer packing suggestions!
I pack like this even for larger trips!!
The key is always to wear interchangeable clothes. Everything goes with wverything, you don't get tired of the six or eight pieces of clothing you packed an, most importantly, you don't complicate yourself making an outfit and enjoy the trip.
I know nothing about Florence; never been there, but if it's hot rn those are good options bc they're light, airy and versatile while being stylish. The white/ivory+black combo always looks stylish and elegant, and it's very versatile and classic 😊.
If you have a favorite pair of shoes or other item that have reached the end of their life, I like to bring them with me so they get a nice trip before retirement and that way I have room in my bag for souvenirs when I head home.
Spent 4 days in Puerto Rico, left a pair of shoes behind and brought home my shirts and other trinkets I'd picked up. Of course shopping duty free at the airport for sweatshirts or whatever you wanted to get as a souvenir helps too since usually you're allowed a duty free bag that doesn't have to fit in your personal item bag.
None of those crop and bandau tops work if you’re blessed up top (I know from experience!)but the shirt and the skirt options are bang on. ☺️
The authorities in the cathedrals, museums etc will have a fit if you try and get in with those little crop tops. Maybe ok for the nightclubs but don't try them during the day no matter what size women are.
@sandraaustin1449 wear a sweater/cardigan/button-down over your top on the airplane, and you can just throw that over any other top and be fine. Also, museums?? Ive never been to Italy, just France, but I only had one cathedral attendant insist on me wearing a sweater, never anyone at a museum. If they're that strict in Italy, that's annoying 😂
@@Aelffwynn they are strict and it has been well over 100 deg Fahrenheit so you would not be putting little cardigans over the top of things to go into churches.
🤍 *You forgot to explain **_Why_** the Extra Space is NEEDED: Souvenirs & Fashion Shopping!* 💕🙃 Also: a *Swimsuit!* Fantastic Tips! 🤍
This is why I go on the Eurostar - you can have two big cases and a handbag per person and they don't get weighed at all, you just have to be able to lift it into the security scanner and the train by yourself. You can pack an empty bag inside another bag for when you return with lots of beer and chocolate and present items (plus Anxious Packers will be more relaxed) 😎
@@KatieM786 That’s a great point! 🙂
Also just nice to be able to get to everything easily, and not have to pull everything out to find one thing. :)
@@HereIAm247 yes. 😊
Maybe a 2nd pair of sandals, you know? In case we have troubles with the 1st one ...
That how I pack my bags for short trips! You put everything together wonderfully! I would also add an empty thermos and the tiniest umbrella you can find, so you can have free and cold (or hot) drinks with you all the time, as well as a portable shade or rain protection in case you need it. Florence in summer get absurdly hot in my experience so everything to keep you cool would be a good idea 👍🏻
If you like to buy graphic t-shirts as souvenirs, you can buy one on your first day to wear as pajamas, then wear it with your outfit on the way home! I did this by accident once, and it worked out perfectly
that cardigan looks SO WARM! you would melt with that in Florence 🥵
And in black, too... although we know Andrea loves her black stuff. 🤷
For the plane? Or night? Otherwise swap for a linen shirt
I'd include a reusable water bottle, personally. I have POTS and need a lot of fluids.
Plus it's better for the environment. I always carry an empty on to refill at stores or fountains.
Also, many airports have water fountains that you can use post security (beating the limit on liquids where it is still in place)
Oh, I'm sorry about the POTS. ❤
You are right, I aways have a water bottle with me, too. x
Same, I carry my reusable water bottle whenever I go because of my POTS. my doctor wants me to be drinking 120 oz a day, sadly i don’t get that much a day(it’s the only reason I still have this stupid NG tube.) I get 1500 through my NG tube (originally it was only 1000ml but since I’m finally off the formula (just happened last week) I have to have 1500 ml to make up for the lose or something) and I have been able to oraly drink a little bit more than 30 oz.
I have pots too. You can get collapsible 2L water bottles and it's a lifesaver. Also, put 👏 salf 👏 in 👏 your 👏 water.
Perfect timing for this video! I travel to Barcelona from the US to take a cruise there and want to travel light. I’m packing already and you just reminded me that I don’t need that much to look amazing. Thank you so much, sweetheart! And thanks for the kitty shot, LOVE LOVE LOVE your fur babies 🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍
I think the most important piece of advice here is that all the clothing items should go with one another. I'm going to try to remember that the next time I go on a trip.
It's missing snacks~ lol
andrea inspired me, now i have a much different perspective of my wardrobe and when i shop for clothes and it makes me a lot happier. i watch every time she posts ❤
My Travel Hack backpack (by Cabin Max) is a life saver on Ryanair flights. So much space in such a small bag 🤯 And it has rosegold zippers so we can be cute. ❤
@@laracross1672 It does!
This was such a fun video!! Love how you made it so practical, like you made sure to fit the toiletries, pjs and underwear in the bag as well. It means that I won’t have to think next time ai go away I can just use this list! Thanks Andrea 😊😊
Capsule wardrobe.
I'd wear my jeans or bulkiest pants and sneakers or more comfortable walking sandals on the plane, as well as a cardigan/sweater for cooler evenings etc (planes can get chilly). Then, in my bag I'd pack a pair of shorts or a casual skirt, and either a dress or nicer skirt (something that can be dressed up or down). My go-to sandals are so flat that they pack easily (Feelgrounds sandals). Then, I'd throw in a few short-sleeved tops that I can layer with the cardigan if needed. I generally like to buy things that can be dressed up or down fairly easily. Shirts that look nice enough for a night out with the right accessories, but don't look out of place with a pair of sneakers and some denim shorts/pants. Since shop within my color season, I can mix and match things fairly easily. I would probably go with a bright navy, cream, or even a brighter blue/green/yellow cardigan because that's going to go with just about anything whereas my pink one won't work as well with some shirts.
Of course, I have never been to Italy, so I can't give specific advice based on things like the weather, etc. I've also never really gone on any trips where I've actually NEEDED to dress up.
Bring twice the amount of undies you think you need, just in case. An extra pair of shoes (pack whatever the smaller ones are in the bag, and put them in a shoe bag... you can tuck belts, socks, etc., into the shoes to save space). And even when going on longer trips where I have to check luggage, I ALWAYS take at least one or two changes of clothes and several changes of undies/socks in my carry-on bag so that if my luggage is lost, I won't be stranded without clothes.
You don’t need that many undies. You can always wash or buy new if you really need to do so…
@@JustMe-vs1kj They are surely to be emotional support undies
Pfft... take a laundry detergent sheet and wash 'em in the sink. I spent 2 months in Europe w/ 6 pairs of underwear.
@@JustMe-vs1kj That really depends on your size, if you are a larger person it can be difficult to just walk into a shop and buy undies. Plus not everybody wants to wash undies on a weekend away. And depending on the level of warmth and humidity, they might take longer to dry than you have, especially if you're doing a lot of moving around. But whatever, I'm just saying if you're thinking of taking two pairs of undies for a long weekend, take four instead.
Love it! And great tips!
I used to not travel light, but I do now all the time. Do not pack toiletries that can be easily bought or are provided at hotels. Skincare/makeup giftsets also often have sample/travel sizes of all your more expensive/exquisite stuff. My bougie little aluminum-free travel deodorant is much smaller than hers, for example. I often wear my biggest pair of shoes for the plane (like boots) and then pack one pair of good walking shoes and one pair of either sandals, flip flops, or flats. Socks and underwear can be washed, but pack at least 3 pairs. I always pack 1-2 "backup tops" because sometimes I like to change after a sweaty day out, but tops tend to take up less space than bottoms. I also pack a small purse with things like my wallet and passport and normal purse things and put that IN the carry-on personal item--and/or an extra empty tote bag that folds up small. When I travel with husband, we can get everything into ONE carry-on (overhead) bag--traveling light relieves a lot of stress, actually.
A cute hat and you’re set.
can you do a winter weekend trip too?
"Wise like an owl, efficient as a hamster" My new mantra 🤣
I also take my notebook and a good-writing pen and add my earphones. In the airplane or late at night, I tend to write, or read (usually pdf so that I don't have to take books), or listen to music or watch videos that are previously saved on my phone... here the earphone comes in handy. For women, daily pads would be useful too. For my cream or sunscreen or other things that I need to use, I only take small samples and not the whole bottle! If someone has a migraine - like me, something to cover our eyes on the plane (in case of a headache!) is also needed!
Love this video! I'm a real overpacker and often end up taking more clothes than I need. This is a great example of learning to pack light and still look great - thank you!
I’m from FL. Even though it’s hot here, I ALWAYS get cold, so whenever/wherever I travel, I always include 1.leggings/sleek joggers in a neutral color (so they can go places aside from the gym if necessary) and a longline workout bra/cami (that can double as a “going out top” if necessary)+fashionable trainers (Converse or Keds) to wear on the plane. They’re cute and functional, and pretty much universally accepted. Then, #2 is a one-piece swimsuit in a neutral color that can double as a bodysuit if necessary. I pair this with an oversized scarf worn as a sarong (that can also be worn in the hair or around the neck depending on where you’re going), and a pair of flip flops/Birks (that can be worn around the room instead of house slippers, in public showers, and to run downstairs to the lobby if necessary… I’m not really big on jeans, so a midi/maxi skirt is a versatile alternative that can be dressed up or down, as well as a knit dress in my most flattering color… bonus items would include a fitted jacket in denim or linen, an evening clutch, a pair of block-heeled sandals or wedges, and a pair of structured loose-fitted lounge shorts in breathable natural fiber.
I'm a Sweaty Betty, I could never travel with so little clothes 😂 I admire and envy those who can though ❤
Absolutely! And in the summer heat, that little amount of clothes would never fly. You need pants so legs don’t rub when walking a lot, another pair of shoes, switch tops and underwear at least twice a day, I mean, no. I’m jealous of those who can go through life without sweating and with one outfit all day long 😂
No one would travel like that lol shes the most unrealistic person
@@davidwong656 have travelled many times with a similar amount - I don’t have the stomach for crop tops but you certainly can take cabin baggage for a trip of up to a week.
@@roselynmvm you can also wash/rinse your clothes.

Something that's helped me is picking a color theme (like how you did black and white so it all can mix and match).. I often overpack jewerly, shoes, bags, etc. So if I stick to one color theme I can bring only a couple accessories that match without lugging all my other shiny things around.
I admire that, I can't stick to just one color theme, I have to pack for five days, I have 3 colors themes, black and khaki, I can't go without it's my swimsuit and cover up, beige and brown, just like my suitcase, cute for travel with my brown jacket, and white and blue, two lovely dresses that I have to take, it will do with beige sandals but I have to pack a second jacket, a blue one of course!
@@katv1195 For Florence, I believe you, but where I go in France I need a jacket - or two in my case - my blue one is actually a crop jean jacket, really great for chilly night at the beach.
Ooh honey I could NEVER. 😂 I do envy people who can pack that light. My packing includes a different outfit for each day, because what if you get sweaty, plus an outfit for every evening, because of course you'll want to bathe and freshen up before dinner. I also need at least one extra outfit, because what if something happens and you're stuck for another day. That's happened to me THREE times, once while traveling domestically and twice internationally. I WILL pack outfits in the same color palette so I can wear the same shoes with everything and carry only one or two eyeshadow palettes. But that's the extent of my "light packing".
Oh I’m in Florence right now 🤭 but for 10 days with a 12kg bag 😉
That bag takes up a great deal of space, go for something more flexible. Possibly use a bag of softer and lighter leather (I feel like I can almost smell that bag from here, too), or a duffel specifically for travel (correct dimensions, comes with compartments or accessory bags for certain items, etc.), and then bring a larger purse if you are one who needs that, place a small clutch or whatnot for evening inside the purse that isn’t counted as a bag.
Always bring a good sized, season appropriate scarf…it’s another layer, a swimsuit coverup, a dress, a top, a skirt, a bag, another layer for a cool or windy day, a hair cover for a windy or rainy day, a cover from the sun, a head wrap on a “last day before washing” day, and scarves can add style to a basic item like a LBD to be daywear or evening wear. I prefer to have a thin, but large area scarf with me, as it can be anything from a belt to a dress.
Sticking to only two colors makes it easy. Nothing says it has to black and white, but a limited palette makes it easy. When I went to a friend’s weekend wedding on the opposite coast, I wore dark red & grey, and spun my packing around those. My carryon was even smaller, yikes!
I would also add: some tourist places (especially religious sites) will want women to dress modestly. Bring one top that had sleeves, a long skirt like shown, and a scarf in case they require a head covering (it’s a flexible accessory anyway).
Enough space for underwear, swimsuit, flip-flops, makeup
Then, there's always the freezing coach journey back at 4am from the airport back.
Danke dafür Andrea! ❤
If you want to go swimming at your holiday location and it is warm enough for it, I recommend a comfy swim-dress. I just went travelling with just one cabin bag for 4 days, and the swim-dress was both a nice outfit and then used for swimming. More space for something else! 😁
Definately a cross body bag, sneakers, scarf or shawl & less crop tops. Light lounge pants. A light weight travel bag (not stiff & weighty). Face/hand wipes, more cosmetics & moisturiser, hair care, magnifying mirror, mini scissors, nail file, tweezers, sunglasses, a fold up ecco shopping bag & snacks. Don’t forget Belinda 😂
My best advice:
1) try to switch as many liquid cosmetics to powder and solid as possible . You get a 1L bag for liquids on the airport. Be smart with what you put there.
2) medications are not counted as liquids, regardless of what they are. You might need a doctor's note to confirm that you need them if it's something particularly unusual.
3) bring strappy sandals in the bag and wear a pair of breathable sneakers or similar shoes on the plane.
4) button down shirts can be worn as cardigans or as shirts on their own.
5) swimsuits can make for a makeshift top, depending on how they look.
6) bring a big silk scarf, sarong or similar. They're super versatile.
You are so great! I just don’t know what else to say. Your presence, attitude, voice, advice, wardrobe… you are fantastic
EXACTLY 💯❤ my only addition would be a small sling purse/wallet/phone case
I JUST found your channel this morning! How fun! Practical as well and FUNNY! Just what I needed . thank you ❤
Take a scarf with you - scarfs are life savers if it is suddenly colder than expected (in the evenings or on the plane) and you can also use them to cover you up if you visit churches for example (in Italy you need to be aware that you should not show your shoulders etc).
Scarf, tennis shoes, sunglasses, day bag
Oh wow. My 6’5” +sized body could never but that’s a great idea about the interchangeable items
I I as surprised Andrea didn’t take at least one belt.
I would bring more tops, these days the temperature in Florence is around 36° Celsius, so while exploring the city you're gonna sweat a lot; also i recommend a fan and a hat if you have fine hair cause you can burn your scalp easily. Comfy shoes are a must to walk around all day and also in Florence there is an amazing scenic spot, Boboli Garden, wich has some pretty steep climbs.
Hope the user enjoys their time in Italy!
I'm absolutely obsessed with the river island too but cannot find it anywhere 😢 I've searched under everything I can think of.
Your outfits are always so cute.
‘Wise like an owl 🦉, efficient like a hamster 🐹’
🤣🤣🤣🤣 brilliant!!
I love this!!! I want a series of light packing lists for different places/occasions. ☺️
I never thought about taking only clothes that match each other and are interchangeable. What a great idea. I normally just over pack a checked suitcase.
Now do a version of cabin luggage for 2 weeks!
Wear on plane:
black pants, black tee, denim jacket, lightweight hoodie, Chelsea boots.
Pack:
2 slip skirts (black & dark color)
black or darkwash skinny jeans (jeans & pants can be worn long, cuffed, or "hemmed" with fashion tape)
dark color silk boyfriend blouse
2 tanks (black & white)
2 tees (black, B&W striped)
Black cashmere crew sweater
Black yoga pants
lightweight trainers
COMFORTABLE sandals
slippers, pajamas, lingerie, socks, toiletries
3 silk scarfs
That got me through Europe for 2 months. (Laundry every 8-10 days). Bring laundry detergent sheets. ❤
Same, same. I follow the rule "one for the pack and one for the back", except I take an extra top. And I only bring things that fold flat. No full skirts or ruffled blouses.
Just wash the clothes you bring with you in the hotel sink. Mix and match to give the illusion of more outfits.
Always pack for 1 week tops. It fits in the regular cabin suitcase and you can do laundry anywhere.
We had a two week trip to France and Spain. Only one suitcase allowed. I packed 7 non wrinkle dresses enough underwear, bathing suit and swim stuff, a second pair of shoes, toiletries and wore my sneakers and summer slacks on plane. I wore a different dress each day of the first week and started over with dresses the next week.
You have the best mannerisms omg
I stick with dresses. Wear 1 with a shirt (over) or a t-shirt (under) - great if a sleeveless dress, and a summer weight sweater or jacket with walking shoes. Pack 2 dresses - and the rest the same, with cute sandals for the evenings. Pack M&S cotton undies. Florence means lots of walking!!! Sleeveless dress - great for the evening. Only pack costume jewelry - leave your good stuff at home. I don't wear PJs, so there you go, more room for a souvenir or two.
Brilliant Andrea !! Thank you so much for showing us how it’s done !! ❤❤❤
I am a retired Flight Attendant…I wish I had passengers like you when I flew…very practical.
You forgot the 8 pairs of undies for a 3 day trip 😂
That is ME, honey!! 😂 I got to be fresh!
And the 30 pairs of contact lenses! Hey -- you NEVER KNOW 😵💫
I’d love to see you do a 5,4,3,2,1 travel wardrobe.
Love your videos just came across them now and have binge watching them all for inspiration! I need this video but for a colder climate holiday! I am going away for 3 days and it’s going to be cold and have no idea what to pack and my wardrobe is quite basic…I want to look stylish but warm and comfortable and I’ve had a baby recently so crop tops isn’t an option for me I want to hide my tummy! Would really appreciate your help!!! Thanks and thanks for these videos! ❤
I travel naked so my bag is very light. Just tanning mousse, lipstick and a novel about vampires 😅
I always bring a good book! Just in case my phone does die for whatever reason, and I am in need of entertainment while waiting somewhere. A wallet! And headphones! Headphones are super important.
I would say flying weariing a top with visible bella and sandały is a baaardzo idea. Its always freezing in the cabin, so a long sleeves with zipper recomended or a hoodie to protect ears too.
Also not wise in case of an emergency.
Andrea, who takes care of your animals while you are away ? 🐈 🐇🐈⬛ 🐢 💕
You’ve covered it all ❤
I just look forward to watching this channel at the end of the day 💗💕
Thank you!! I absolutely love your videos❤
“Efficient as a hamster” has been added to my sayings inventory. 😂
I think you're brilliant and spot on😊
Sunglasses!!!! I love your videos!!!
Love the top!
❤❤❤❤❤❤ Thank you very much my lovely fashion adviser. I really needed this!!! My brain just relaxed after watching the video. Can't wait now for my Florence break. 🎉🎉🎉
You’re very welcome! Add a large scarf or some sort of cover up to the list so you can enter churches. Wishing you a fantastic trip! 💕❤️💕
