    This is the kind of video I like. A regular Joe just talking , preparing, and making a few mistakes like I would. All in the learning curve. I have a Power Xl air frier grill that I’ll be using tomorrow with your advice.
    Thank you for showing me the way to a happier meal!

    Great videos ken, I have a old school ronco rotisserie and it’s been great over the years using marinade injections and including fresh garlic and herbs trying to achieve the traditional results of a good old fashion great barbecue. It’s nice having new kitchens gadgets to play around with
    And learning as you go .....Thanks for you time and kindness in your videos.
    Kind Regards,
    Sharkey

    2 questions
    1. Why trim the fat? Why not just leave it on, wouldn't it add to the flavor?
    2. Why temperature did you cook it to?

    • @KenRogersMostlyOutdoors
      @KenRogersMostlyOutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In this type of cook, I didn’t think that the fat would render out like say, a steak would when grilling. I was afraid that it would be more of a problem.
      I was shooting for 140 degrees internal when I pulled the meat. I actually went over that, but it still came out amazing.
      Thanks for watching!

  • @jeannieranes1028

    Great video very helpful. I just bought a sirloin roast and going to try that. You made me think about the flavor not having the grill flavor - what is you rubbed it with liquid smoke? Maybe add Smoked Paprika to the rub?
    I cooked a pork loin in my new air fryer - LOVE IT I cooked it at 400 for 45 minutes. I removed the pork then completely wrapped it in foil and let it rest for 15 minutes. When I opened it to cut it, there was a lot of really good juice in the foil so I put that in a small bowl and served it with the pork. The pork came out awesome. Flavor and juicy.
    Tip, you can't put foil on the dip tray so what I did was put the pizza rack in the 1st slot and used the baking pan that comes with the air fryer and wrapped it in foil. It covers the bottom heating elements and helped with clean up and can save any juice. I subscribed and will be watching and learning from you. It's a new way of cooking, takes practice. Thanks!

    • @KenRogersMostlyOutdoors
      @KenRogersMostlyOutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeannie Ranes Hi Jeannine, that was Zangs stir fry oil that I used in place of olive oil. It just adds more garlic flavor. The paprika would give you a little more Smokey flavor for sure. My experience is that the possibilities are endless. Thanks for watching!

    • @KenRogersMostlyOutdoors
      @KenRogersMostlyOutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mmmm… your roast is about the same as the one in this video. I would suggest cooking at about 350 degrees and check the internal temps after about 20 minutes in. Medium Rare is about 130 to 135 degrees. Remember, the temps will rise a little while it is resting

    tip
    when taking anything in or out of your oven. put your food with the spit attached on a plate and install or remove your food like that and you won't burn yourself.
    hold plate under to food while attached to the machine and push the plate up to release the food from the rotisserie machine and you should be safe doing it that way

    FYI... The timer does not start until the pre-heat is finished, But, the heat is still on. So putting the roast in before the temp is up, will affect your cooking times.

    • @KenRogersMostlyOutdoors

    You should take the rotisserie spit out as soon as possible especially if you think you overcooked it. That thing is so hot it will continue cooking it in the center by just sitting there. Also, you can't cook it for a long time on the higher temperature-end of these mini ovens because they are smaller and will cook much faster at a lower temperature than a large conventional oven.

    The fat especially on a roast is what flavors the meat...doesnt mean you have to eat it if you dont want to but leave it on to flavor and keep the roast moist. Obviously you are not a cook. Thats why an English Roast is one of the best roast for flavor and moistness because of the Marbling which you never ever remove.

    Using a chef knife isn't right! They make carving knives to cut roasts. Thin narrow blade. I use the Ron popel rotisserie which is electric as well, I've had it for over forty years, and it still makes the best roast ever.

    I personally would have left the fat on, so the meat would not dry out. Most of the fat will drain off, and what doesn't drain off, once the meat is cooked, cut it off then. Just my 2 cents worth.

    SIR KEN ROGERS, YOU SAID IN YOUR SAYINGS THAT WHEN YOU WAS PUTTING THE ROAST TO ROTISSERIE, AND MY 9 YEAR OLD TOLD ME TO TELL YOU, FOR YOU TO NOT CALL YOURSELF A DUMMY ANYMORE, SKYLER SAID YOU SAID THAT AROUND 4:12, SO SKYLER, SAID STOP SAYING DUMMY ABOUT YOURSELF, BECAUSE OF YOU ARE SMART, AND NOT A DUMMY, HE CALLED YOU SIR! SKYLER SAID YOU ARE FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE, AND THAT YOU ARE MADE IN THE IMAGE OF THE LORD YOUR'S AND OURS, GOD, FURTHERMORE YOURS AND OUR LORD GOD DOSE NOT MAKE DUMMIES! ALSO, SKYLER AND ME AND MY WIFE ARE PRAYING FOR YOUR COMPLETE FAMILY BECAUSE SKYLER SAYS YOU ARE A SMART MAN, AND YOUR WIFE LOVES YOU, AND YOUR ALL CHILDREN, AND THAT SKYLER SAID THAT THERE IS A LOT OF MONEY DUE TO YOU AND THAT IS COMING THIS YEAR SOON. GOD IS BLESSING YOU TOO ON TOP ON THAT!!! = (Psalms 139:14 KJV) I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. (Genesis 1:26 KJV) And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
