The right answer to the GLTF button is right on the screen! ;-) At 4:25 you see hints for both add-on panel button, and the file menu entry - they both call `bpy.ops.export_scene.gltf()`. So, there is no difference, which one you click.

why when I appen a collection containing a rigged character I get random shapes scattered on the viewport (the shapes are the controllers of the rig, but I can delete them and everything works, I guess they were just hidden somewhere, but I don't understand why they don't stay hidden and I can find a collection in which they were hidden)

I am not sure but it must be due to the constraints that the control rig applies to the base bones. If it is a very slight shift, you can ignore it. It won't be a problem.
i dunno why some people would use older versions of Blender instead of the updated verison when the updated brings new features, fixes and making some process a lot more easier than before

If you rigged your own characters with mixamo, then yes. They all have the same bone structure so animation can be reused. Some of the default mixamo chars have a different skeleton, just be aware of that.
Making these vids takes a stupid amount of time. The only difference is in the Bone Layers VS Collections. That's not significant enough to justify a remake of the tutorial. Give it a go and let me know if you get stuck.
This is great, but after exporting the NLA to GLB and importing back into blender I can only get one of the animations to play even though I see the other strips listed. Is there some trick to it?
Hello Todor! In my model, the animation of the shape of the keys is carried out through added properties on the dummy through the driver. That is, the key shape parameters are purple (driver influence), and not yellow (animated). Can you please tell me how I can bake animations of these properties in order to transfer the shape keys to Unreal Engine?
I found a way to transfer animation from drivers. I copied the geometry and after setting the keys in the Shape Keys editor, I copied the curves from the editor graphs onto the geometry. Then I pulled them out to the nonlinear animation editor. But export does not happen with them. 8((
I spent the whole night. It seems that we managed to export. But it seems I broke one option in Blender. I have the default 24fps and it doesn't switch to 30fps or any of the other options. Rebooting both Blender and the computer did not help. What a night...
@@CGDive Dear Todor, thanks for the answer. I don't remember how the task ended. It was a stream task. I lost a kilogram of nerves, but most likely I got the job done. From my own messages, I remembered that there was a powerful glitch, it seems, on version 4.0. My frame rate did not switch from 24 to 30. In the following projects, I had to open a prepared empty scene from earlier versions of Blender, where the frame rate was 30, and then work in this preset. There was also incorrect work of eve in the viewport, some problems with the normal map. In a word, version 4.0 was probably not very good. Now version 4.2 and I like it much more. 8))

@@CGDive It's been 5 months since I abandoned that plugin, but I remember having trouble playing the animations. If you could try it with the latest UE version and check if the issue still persists (to ensure it's not just specific to me), it could help others working with Mixamo.
@@99.googolplex.percent Hmm, Mixamo is not meant to work with Unreal out of the box. There are ways to make it happen of course but not an official one. So it's not something that we support or advertise.
I can't help based on what you said. Share more details such as Blender and addon version. Also check if you are actually using the addon as intended. It only works with Mixamo rigs.
I'm still having issues trying to get this to work. Would it have anything to do with the fact that whenever I try to install a plugin, it doesn't let me just select the whole zip file? It always goes inside the folder and makes me install one python file at a time. It says it's installed successfully on the bottom, but then the mixamo addon just doesn't work
What is that "it" that makes you go into the zip file? Blender? I have never heard of such a problem TBH. Did you try doing it exactly as shown around 1:35?
@@CGDive Blender. Going into Edit > Preferences > Add-ons > Install, there's no option to just select the whole zip folder at once, when I click on it it just goes inside the folder

I don't need an image, the bones are sticking out of the character, right? This is the case with some Mixamo characters, I don't know why they have different bone structure. I'm trying to rig a Vroid character for a video game. I downloaded the animation from Mixamo. However, the add-on shows errors when I try to create a control rig. I'm using Blender 4.2.1 from Steam. Would anyone happen to know how to help?

@@psymin0 Thanks. Please also copy and paste the error message. When I do the same thing, I do not get any errors. So the seeing the error you get is vital for figuring out what is wrong. After the error appears, switch any Blender window to "Info" and you will be able to copy the error message.
Some more pointers: Please make sure you are using this addon: gitlab.com/x190/mixamo_blender4 Also you mentioned something about Vroid character. Does that come with it's own rig? If you are trying to use this addon with a non-mixamo rig, it will not work and you may see errors.

@@CGDive Hello, I'm using it with blender 4.0 but by re-emporting the model and exporting it from the mixamo site I no longer have the error but there are double bones (shoulder R and L) so in the result for me are missing bones (the shoulders are too low). The clavicles are missing, perhaps I can remedy this by creating them manually ? I let yoy know :)

There are good reasons to use an old version especially in bigger projects where predictability is more important than new features.

quick issue, the IK bones for the knees are behind the character and when i move it forward, the legs are twisted.
I believe that is not an addon issue but if you could share your source files, I would like to take a look.

I don't know what you are trying to do and how you are going about it. Generally, export is not part of the supported workflow.

@@CGDive Hello, I'm using it with blender 4.0 but by re-emporting the model and exporting it from the mixamo site I no longer have the error but there are double bones (shoulder R and L) so in the result for me are missing bones (the shoulders are too low). The clavicles are missing, perhaps I can remedy this by creating them manually ? I let yoy know :)

@CGDive nothing, i had essentially just started using blender and added the mixamo addon
Also I can see the tab, I had to click that arrow next to the list of objects
