1970s Tonka Van - Custom Restoration - Stranger Things Edition Sandblasted & Powder Coated!!

- I know some people will not like this. I had this Tonka van from when I was a kid. So I thought I could make it something cool for my son. We both love Stranger Things so I customized it for him ahead of the season 4 part 2 coming out.
This is just my 3 restoration so I am still learning and I know there are things I can do to improve.
I have several more restorations that I will do where I stick with the original and others where I will customize.

It looks worst now than when you began.
I don't know about worse than it started but it definitely not great a lot of detail stuff is lacking he did not put on antenna or fill its hole the silver on the windshield doesn't look great the wheels look like they were sticking kind of an interesting idea just needs better execution
The body is also bent, the panels don't match, the paint job is horrible

Should have restored it to original than you could have sold it Jeff Dunham! He has the Van and the Pinto wagon that was copied from!
Still it looks good the way it is now.

I had this van as a kid it came with a figure of a man in an orange jumpsuit.
It's ugly, should of did it original lol waste of time

I've seen stranger customisations.
Not bad, but you might want to work on the body work and painting skills buddy. Not trying to be mean, but it didn't look great. I see you've taken some tips from Chips channel, but the painting was way off bud.
I had one of these.. had a couple of this type.. loved them as a kid..
Redo.... if ya gonna rattle can everything wet sand it!! The windows can look tons better by just making them black and then find/make windshield sticker... or if it's still yellow.. that's fine... some of the rebuild needed to have steps redone.. like tires.. paint rims.. polish tires... put them all together... then white wall them.. or white wall then torch tires to make plastic look new... practice on this.. take time... let shit dry for a few days.. there is potential
Hydrogen peroxide and UV lights would have cleared up the yellow on the windshield and the yellow on the tires, for next time
I dimly remember having a toy with this colour scheme, but I think that it was a smaller scale. 🤔
how a comment usually the other restorers try to maintain the originality of the vehicles in what sense that the interior can be seen and instead of being black or metallic it loses charm
