    What is your favorite bait for hogfish? How do you get your bacon? Leave a comment below.

    Great video! Thanks for the heads up on the set up. I fished them today and I definitely didn't have enough beads on my knocker rig. We were running two and they were small. I felt they weren't getting over the hook well enough, first time I ever saw a set up like that. I'm going to tell him tomorrow we need more beads. Thanks again brother!

    I would like to book a chat fishing with you guys and head to that spot where I can get some hogfish. I love that fish I have never been looking to catch them out of St Pete shore.
    Let me know if how we can get in touch for the trip.

    Can you explain the rig you are using? What is the point of the multiple beads? Great video Capt

      Absolutely. Its a simple 2 oz egg weight above 3 to 4 plastic beads. The beads add visibilty and make a clicking noise. It is commonly thought that hogfish are attracted to anything that sounds like cracking custacean or mollusk shells.

    That looks so much fun. You think I could make it out that far in my 19’ hurricane deck boat?

    Can you explain the rig set up? Size & Type of hook? Are you using live shrimp or cut crab for bait? Thanks.

      2 oz egg weight over several pink beads tied to a 1/0 trident circle hook. Live or fresh dead shrimp.

    I see a lot of guys going after hogs lately. Are they more of a winter bite in the Clearwater area?

    • @HeadFirstFishing
      @HeadFirstFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are more congregated in the winter, but you can catch them year round. Sorry for the accidental thumbs down, fixed it.

    What’s the limit on Hogfish?

    • @HeadFirstFishing
      @HeadFirstFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      5 per last I checked. I'm a bit more conservative with my bag limits so I usually don't worry about it.
