I was fortunate to watch 08 Celtics win and now I get to watch my 24 Celtics go for another chip. However, there are so many variables to try and nail it down to just a few things. Game is different now, it's a shooters league now. I think in this ERA todays Celtics beat 08 Celtics with all them 3's, and likewise for 08 Celtics if 24 Celtics went back in time to that 08 Celtics ERA that Celtics team will beat 24 Celtics on Physicality alone. So it's hard to really tell because of the different ERA's.
As a ☘️ fan, those 08 Celtics were tough. Nothing soft about them. Dogs. 24 team is more talented, but the intangibles I’ll give the 08 Celtics the edge.
People forget how clutch the 08 Celtics were. They had insane comeback wins. Eddie House used to be hot right off the bench. Ray Allen was always a problem and hard to guard with those corner threes. Playoff Rondo. Cmon. Big Baby used to sink tons of clutch shots. KG and Perkins intensity on defense was unreal. Everyone forgets that when nobody else was getting threes, here comes the truth Paul Pierce stepping up with clutch threes. When they went cold, Paul Pierce ignited the team. He was a true leader, and role player. He was going toe to toe clutch with black mamba in both finals. Don’t forget about The Truth. The definition of clutch. The heart of that team was unrivaled, they embodied the true spirit of Boston.
08 and 24 played some weak and injured teams during their finals paths. I'd say 08 is better. Kristaps is getting manslaughtered by KG. Tatum and Pierce cancel each other out. White and Rondo cancel each other out. JB vs Ray Allen is hard to compare but gimme Ray Ray.
