We share a passion and gain experience while we are at it that we share with others. We build cars to enjoy. Save classic vehicles from the scrap yard. Repurposed vehicles no one else wants and build them into something we can be proud of. All of it done for the pure enjoyment.

I like the sense of community the car meets have, they all look like they’re having a good as long as they’re not harming people, let them get on with it
This is a daily thing , makes it seem so much worse than it is , allot of the time the people at the meet make it fairly safe , only gets bad when people do it in the middle of the day with traffic

In the middle of the day and in traffic is bad? So not at night with 500 people around and then to carry that on through the night when people could be walking home from the bar or club, to hit anyone at night is fine?
These kids don’t respect the car culture or the drifting scene to begin with, every kid in a FWD wants to get stupid now. In the UK, we are making ourselves look as bad as the USA in this situation. Slight difference is that the USA doesn’t have as many “round abouts” so kids stay on the OUTSIDE of the intersection.
We’re as, here in the UK, kids flood the outside AND inside, snap steer happens and someone or someone’s die in seconds.
Hilarious how these exposé pieces always find the people with the slowest cars willing to talk the most.

@@finlayp4897honestly juts join alot of Facebook groups then they have non illegal car meets then after you join a few of them you will meet people amd they will get you in. You usually have to know people to get into the private group chats as they don't want no police.
Imagine a world where hanging out with people who have similar interests, where your prerogative to very slightly risk your own safety has been considered consensually among whom, has to be done in secret.

Been to a bunch of local meets and "shows" I've never liked them, my local weekly meets are clicky so I never felt welcome. I'm more into caffeine and machine and legitimate shows like roll hard and japfest. For me the pleasure is driving a B road not parking up in a car park and revving.

Hit the nail in the head to be fair. Tracks are great fun. But if you break down at a track them you are 100+ miles away from home. Trailers and pick up are another expenses as well
Build a track car and buy a trailor then instead of putting the general public at risk? Can't imagine anyone's insurance paying out when they find out the car got wrecked attempting to show off in the local asda car park..

Can people stop calling doing donouts and figure eights in asda parking lot drifting? Also, streeto can be safe-ish when done properly but of course there is still lots of factors that make it way more dangerous than going to a track day. All of them car meet ''drifters'' make people who actually can drive and love drifting look bad.
It’s these meets that are the reason, that getting caught streeto went from a slap on the risk and told to go home to a dangerous driving charge.
They'd never do a documentary on streeto though because people do it away from crowds and don't brag about it on social media 🤷🏻♂️
Most car clubs hold static meets and don't condone this kind of behaviour.

It's a shame that these reports only focus on the negatives. Yeah there are dickheads, just like in every group known to man, but they are the minority. Most meets are statics which don't cause any problems, it's only mexico afterwards where there's racing and people get hurt.
it’s brain dead people who run out in the middle of a road who get hurt, been to hundreds of meets with racing & drifting etc, nobody has ever been hurt, maybe damaged a back bumper on a wall but never anyone being hurt
@@ihax4uv179 well last week someone was killed at a meet by some dickhead going 120 down a crowded road. So yeah wile at some locations it's perfectly safe, there's always the minority that cause problems and hurt people. Just because you have been fortunate enough to not encounter anything dangerous, doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

Nowadays everyone is a automatic transmission driver back in the days automatic were a joke and still are. I used to love going to meets and modify my cars. I remember when landor Road by Birmingham wheels was a big thing, then there was hams Hall and spines by star city.
15+ years on I miss the scene, but having kids and a mortgage etc I can't just swan off at night like I used to. Problem is who wants to see me in a transit custom? 😭😄

Another half decent documentary. Meets aren’t too difficult to get intel on. I love cars and the concept of what they do to their cars is incredible and it’s a good community and bond. Its the risk and danger that is implemented when advanced driving takes place in public. As much as we think the police love a penalty, would/could they work with them and create a place to go? I’d like to think so, but I don’t think it’ll happen anytime soon. Take care driving and all the best

The problem with that is proper races cost alot of money and most people don't have that to spend on a track car and the races, plus its much safer them doing donuts instead of racing down the street at 100+

Difference is there's a time and place i love spirited driving, getting it sideways etc when it's quiet but there are morons out there that do it in busy traffic and ruin it for everyone else.

You come to Sydney its far more secretive then in Bristol or the States. Not trying to compete or anything. I've seen cars wrapped around trees. And cars with over 60k worth of mods. Its a weird world the car scene and I fkn love it.

Its really no different from 20 odd year's ago when I was going...change the IS200 for a Saph Cossie and the 10k Yaris for a Max Powered Vauxhall Nova...
I miss going to the cruise on a Sunday. Yh there were some donuts and wheelspins but the police always came along and ruined it for many. The crowd usually kept more of a distance by organisers in my home town. And only ever modified cars doing the skids ect to show off. Most other enthusiasts would just open their bonnets and selves to conversation and meeting likminded people. If organised properly they can be safe to go to. Like everything that can kill. Don't be in the firing line
That’s not car meats they are race or drift meets there’s a difference. Static meets get a lot of shit because of them and sometimes people from the race and drift meets turn up and ruin it for others it’s incredibly frustrating

I’m really glad someone is out here trying to understand and show others why we do it.
I suffer from anxiety and most days I’m pretty sad. These car meets and excitement from them are just one of the simple things that keep me going. Although I don’t agree with racing on public roads, doing a few donuts in a car park really ain’t doing no harm.

we do this in Finland.. what do you prefer, we have an interest in cars and car meets or we have an interest in drugs and dealer meets? you can meet some of the nicest people on the planet at places like this. we are all the same, we love the same thing and we just want to have fun :) so like it or not, we will be passing you at 250kmh so make sure you hold on tight to that steering wheel :p

Tbf, V8s aren't completely non-existent here though. The reason there's none in this video is becuase most people here are 18-23, and insuring any car with 300hp+ at that age would cost them about $3-5000 a year.

I could not have said it better myself, I’ve shown up to static meets and it’s all eco boost pop maps, 1.9 hardcuts and one strange kid with a lifted defender showing how a 4 grand lift kit allows him to drive up a 20cm curb.
Needless to say I left within 10 minutes
