The programming video worked well until the final step where I pressed the learned limit button and it beeped loadly and the red light blinked instead of turning off. Not sure what next steps are needed to set the ope & close limits?Thank you!
I realize that this is a very old video, and the technology could very well have changed... My question is, can you have a dual gate setup where one gate (say the left gate as you're inside the property) is pull to open, and the right gate is push to open, both gates operating at the same time? Hi, Thank you for reaching out to us. If the open limit will not set then disconnect the power to the unit. Use the lever on the gate operator to manually release it to the halfway position, Once it is in the halfway position lock it back in place for operation. Then power the unit back up. Next go through the programming process once again for setting the limits. If the open limit will still not program check for shorts is the wiring coming from the gate operator. If no short exist then you most likely have a bad open limit switch. Also look for the LED indicators on the control board for the limit switches during the programming process. Please let us know if you have anymore questions.
My single button does not move the gate also my gate moves just the opposite of your instructions while holding the open and close buttons. The diagnostic light continues to flash and you can’t set the limits

Watched this several times. My gate is working just opposite. Left button closes gate and right button opens gate and when gate closes timer will reopen gate. What am I needing to do. If I start with arm in closed position. Top left button does nothing. Hope you can help
timothy birdsey is your gate Push to Open or Pull to Open? It sounds like you have a Push to Open gate setup. The Reason why the top left button does nothing is because the operator can not retract any further. The left and right buttons does not matter when determining which one will be used to open or close the gate. This is due to the direction the gate will be traveling. What is important is the sequence in which you press the buttons. Once you have located the open limit position you must press the learn button. Once you have pressed that button, the close limit LED should start flashing. Now press the appropriate button to move the opener to the closed position. Once again hit the Learn button. The flashing should stop. When programming this gate opener it is very important that you follow the correct steps when pressing the learn limits buttons.
The arm retracts in order to open the gate. When the gate is closed the arm is fully extended. So that would be a (pull to open)? Correct? While trying to set it the timer led is blinking in the closed position and then the gate opens. It is working backwards.
You are correct. You have pull to open operation. Your best option for support is to call LiftMaster directly and speak with one of their techincal staff to help with the diagnosis your gate opener. LiftMaster's phone number is (800) 528-5880.
