this makes my heart happy in so many ways. Katie Nolan is amazing. also, the running jokes of Katie being a Rhythmic dancer and her jr high years is great for us long-time Katie fans.

Katie Nolan is adorable and HIGHLY energetic - I feel like I need a nap after this interview 😆. Anyway, I definitely feel she got a raw deal at ESPN, as well as WAY-too much criticism online. I'm glad she's found a new gig where she can thrive.

Renee talking to her contemporaries is always the best and most insightful shit. This interview goes alongside her chat with Megan Olivi.

Real talk Katie Nolan and Michelle Beadle were my favorite when on ESPN, their personalities were laid back and I really enjoyed all their segments, Nolan is amazing

Love when Renee gets to talk shop with other broadcasters. Love the wrestling interviews, but you can tell she's passionate about stuff like this. Kenny Mayne or Jay Onrait should be next!

Her boyfriend Danny SoderPop is one of my favorite comedians all time. I've met him twice. Super supportive to new, green comedians like myself. The only person who does a better impression of the Macho Man was the Macho Man.

Once Dan LeBatard left espn, everyone from Katie to Bomani all lost the outlet that showed off the best of their talent. I'm glad they're still in the industry though.

Up Late would’ve worked if it weren’t stuck on ESPN+ in the early days of ESPN+ before way more people had ESPN+. If ESPN would’ve had the faith in the show to put it on ESPN2, it would’ve done so much better and might still be going. Clips were rarely available on TH-cam as well.
I also love the appreciation that they both had for Sports Show with Norm MacDonald, which was so brilliant and didn’t last long either.

To preface my opinion, I was a huge fan of Garbage Time (and even the Guyism speed round), so my perspective is influenced within that purview. That said, I don’t think there was really anything ESPN or Katie could have done to make Up Late work. As someone who watched clips of Up Late whenever they were available, there was just something off with the whole vibe of the production. I wish Renee would have asked Katie the extent to which ESPN meddled in the writing/production of the show, because I personally think they really had an outsized influence on the product. I had grown accustomed to Katie’s voice and personal flare over the years, and a lot of times it didn’t feel like things on that show were written in her voice. That’s obviously to be expected to some degree at a place like ESPN, but with a show like Katie’s the uniqueness and punchy-ness of the dialogue is the entire selling point. That’s obviously just my opinion, but I just never connected with Always Late like I did with Garbage Time.

Katie Nolan being let go from multiple big name companies like FOX and ESPN will never not make me mad. She has a ton of personality and talent and I don't understand how those companies didn't use her more. Always Late was a funny AF show and I loved it.

It’s because her schtick had a short shelf life. It was novel and wore out its welcome quickly. It’s been at least half a decade since she’s done anything of note. She’d make a great mainstay in catering at WWE.

What’s up with all these virtue signalers lately? Katie Nolan is absolutely garbage at her job, was a huge SJW, and would shame people for having an opinion. She brings down the game of baseball with Apple TV’s terrible broadcast. She’s so overrated it’s laughable. If ESPN of all places moves on from you, there’s a problem.
