Hey everyone! This is a re-upload due to an issue with the original upload. If you're enjoying Figma in 5, be sure to subscribe to the channel to be notified for future videos!
Two notes on the Interface Scaling. 1. On Windows we don't have that weird top menu bar, so in order to find the View section, you must go into the "Search" hamburger menu. 2. Once you do that, you won't actually find View > Interface Scale section. Nor will you be able to search for it by typing "Interface scale". The only solution I found is to use the shortcut keys as per the help pages on Figma's website (which claims all of what I just wrote is wrong, so let me know if I'm mistaken): Reset to Default: Ctrl + Alt + 0 Make Larger: Ctrl + Alt + = Make Smaller: Ctrl + Alt + -
You got it, Sachin! Rogie has a lot of Figma in 5 episodes planned. Is there a particular category/area of Figma features you'd like to see an episode on?
I love seeing this potential glimpses of updates to Figma's UI 😜 Rogie - Curious what tool you're using for screen recording with the keystrokes. Currently I use Kap (for Mac)
@@rogieking8773 for a free tool, can't beat it IMO. So many awesome plugins too, including one to show your keystrokes. The only thing is some of them are buggy/currently don't work (like the Camera recorder). Hopefully, they get fixed.
5:44 Negative inner shadow to achieve a bottom-border: Figma meanwhile supports defining a stroke for particular sides (left, top, right, bottom). No more need to use that workaround.
I would like to know about the numbered list creation. I am not sure why sometimes it has the default padding before the number in text input. But the rest of the list don't have the padding and I can't remove it, no matter how many time I retype.
The nudge!!!!!! 😭 Do you have any idea how much time was wasted by nudging 10px to the right and 2px to the left to get an 8px! And the 0.5px lifesaver...Thanks Rogie!!
@@rogieking8773 I never scroll to pan the screen; Just hold the scroll wheel to pan. Of course this might be uncomfortable for some people, which is why I said "Please add an option" instead of "make it work that way"
You can change the entire size in chrome with View> Zoom in/out. Next video, I'll be working on getting more in sync with Windows for y'all! I'm listening :)
3:27 What about that dragging using Wacom pen? Have you ever tried to do this trick in Figma? Anyway, thanks for your tricks, some of them are very nice though.
Usually for shortcuts, command is ctrl in Windows. Try ctrl+\ (or ctrl+p if you have a non US keyboard) and write "keyboard" then press enter, you will see a new panel with all available shortcuts.
I got to thinking I was pretty good at Figma - after watching this - I realize I suck. So technically - your "how to" Figma video's are making me worse.

That batch rename. Holy cow. I've been using Figma for years
I very much admire your willingness to build a community. Let nothing stop you
Option + Double clicking an image to crop is precisely what my life has been missing
Loved it, it just reinforced and helped me revise everythingI I've learnt from your channel in the last 6 months
Always a pleasure to follow you. Even the things we knew seem new.
This is going to speed up the design process 1000% Thanks!!!
You're welcome, Romana! Let us know what parts of Figma you'd like to learn tips for next.
Just amazing... thanks for the free class .. It's awesome kind of learn in 7 minutes what should take years
Sweet! thanks! I've made notes about each of these tips and will share them with my design team
Yes Rogie! Incredible video. I feel reborn.

Shift Enter! 🤘😝🤘 been looking for this one
Very helpful! Please keep making these. Loved the way you explained, quick and precise.
Thank you 🙏
You've had me on "Double clicking the layer icon"
Huzzah!
To be frank, Figma does a great job in detail, which impresses people!
There are so many cool tricks!!!
✌️✌️Loved it. Need more of these.

@@Figma Thanks. I would love to see the use of Auto-layout to design more complex UI components.
Thanks for these awesome tips ! I didn't know about the custom nudge amount, this is gonna fit well with my design system's spacing :)
Glad to hear it! It's been a lifesaver for me - especially when doing really small bits of design like icon work.
my MAN!
That was amazing. More like this, please 🙏
Thank you! Great video.
Rogie ur the man
Select all child items is so simple??? Amazing!!! Thank you so much!!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Very helpful and cool! Thank you
Só much useful information!!!!
Wow! You´re amazing!!!! Tksss soo much!!
First thing in the morning I am making a shortcut to this video on my desktop. I think I can do that - I've never done it before!
YAaaass
Pro tips...👍✨🧠
5:50 that inner shadow trick is litterally life saver 🔥🔥
Damn, this Figma in 5 series IS on fire! Thank you, guys!
I love seeing this potential glimpses of updates to Figma's UI 😜

I'm sure it will change, but currently I'm using Screenflow. How do you like Kap?

incredible episode
shift + return is super useful
Full of Tips!
That rename trick is just lifesaver...it is very useful while making variants
Amzaing

Genius.
Game changer
If you guys had a way of having lasso tools, Poly, OMG photoshop would be finished. I LOVE FIGMA.
Miss your live session 😟
Aww, thanks!
Sir, how can avoid an instance jumping into its default component state when it's in prototype mode??
I would like to know about the numbered list creation. I am not sure why sometimes it has the default padding before the number in text input. But the rest of the list don't have the padding and I can't remove it, no matter how many time I retype.
It'd be nice to have windows 10 shortcut keys in these videos too. Not everyone has macbooks
Selecting parent with Shift+Enter is a pain, it would be much easier with Esc. Please consider changing it.
What is the keyboard shortcut 'Command + Y' used in windows?
Hello, Shift + O should do the trick!
The nudge!!!!!! 😭 Do you have any idea how much time was wasted by nudging 10px to the right and 2px to the left to get an 8px! And the 0.5px lifesaver...Thanks Rogie!!
Intro style reminds me of Ryan Reynolds cool attitude from FREE GUY😊
Figma in 5: Just The Tips
🤣
hey rogie, what's that cool song you used for the intro?
Please add an option to zoom by only scrolling. PLEASE ! So many 2D programs have this option and the muscle memory is already there.
Curious how this works in other apps? How do you vertically scroll?
@@rogieking8773 I never scroll to pan the screen; Just hold the scroll wheel to pan. Of course this might be uncomfortable for some people, which is why I said "Please add an option" instead of "make it work that way"
Damnn these were good
Is it just me or are the timestamps all wrong in this video? I'm asking cause they would be very useful.
What's that thing on the wall there?
Hahaha? Nailed it
interface scale is missing in windows version and figma web 💔

I've just boosted my productivity by 30%.
_Tidy Up_ doesn't work with more than 100 elements (e.g. icons). Too bad. :-(
Green lights plus green plants = weed house
and once again, where is Dark Mode? :D
We want it. We need it.
What about Windows users? We don´t have the command button.

@@sebastiangutierrezcorrea379 thank you!
.....we want the tip 😬 lol
Would please make a tutorial foe anima in figma
Please
I will be a fart, If I don't watch this before getting pro in Figma

You spelled "I am a Figma God" wrong ;)
At 5:21 I changed the names of the layer components, but I can't do it with \d{3}
