I am curious to see how the recycling center contractor raid that simultaneously occurred ends up becoming central to the allegations, whatever they are. Recycling is one of the biggest city sanctioned gov. scams out there. I always have wondered how that fraud has been perpetuated - I hope the story comes out.

Mayors require the allegiance of the police. In the case of Oakland, the police have such a poor track record that there may be good reasons for her firing the chief of police. But it's also possible for there to be corruption in multiple agencies or by multiple officials.
Seeing as the Supreme Court just made Bribery for public officials legal as long as the Bribe is accepted after the favor, I dont see much coming of this.

That may be true but it seems to imply they suspected that if given the opportunity, she would instead destroy documents, thus the surprise search. Seems to imply she is a suspect in a conspiracy of some sort.
