I was waiting for this campaign to launch to see the price comparisons, and I also noticed the $30 difference. So I just ordered it for $65 at board game bliss and with what Alex said about the base being all you really need I think I made the right decision. I believe they said there are some differences, for example it's going to be in a bigger box and a better insert and cleaned up rulebook, but didn't think it was worth the extra $30
I was curious about Creature Caravan so i checked out their campaign. In the comments they were asked about shipping for just one game not both and they said the shipping would be cheaper for a single game. I just wanted to let anybody that was also curious know.
The Dice Tower was 100% off on their review of Beast. I don't think they explored it enough, it's quite an amazing experience and each creature needs to played and replayed. Looking forward to this expansion.
Personally, I agree, but ultimately reviews are just opinions reflecting our own experiences. There are plenty of reviews where I feel my opinion doesn't match the norm as well.
That's fair, but i think each feature film adds enough rules and theme to make them different. I'll keep getting new seasons but if they do one every year I'll probably sell or give away the FFs i don't like as much and keep my stock to 15-20... Or in 10 years I'll have a whole wall of final girl!! 🤣🤣😂😂

I have never played the video game, but the mechanics of the game - and how you can dig into the (cave) board - make it seem VERY different. I ❤ and look for games which look and feel very unique and different. I do not have a game like this, so I had to add it to my collection! The expansions look like they will be adding more mechanics from the video game (I guess) and also more of the missions!

I would love to pledge beast, but they have been not so clear about localization; I still don't know if there will be my language translation during the campaign, they said "maybe after the campaign is over"... which is kind of a bummer for me, I mean, I cant' just pledge and hope for the best right? Very interesting hearing different perspectives on Beast’s price - a new copy would be 75€ for me and I don’t particularly mind missing out on the localisation, so if I end up liking the game I might be better off with the the campaign

I worry that they would take the focus out of the game itself, since people will be looking at them instead - but also, more importantly, I worry that they will block the territory on the board, since the board is so “busy” to begin with - and it would make the players have to lift their mini character up to see what is underneath. To me, there is no need for miniatures in a game like this. Some people will want them, so you do you! But I am just giving my opinion.
Well for me I already have the Acrylics for the base game, so why do I need to have mini's for all of it, if its already got premium Acrylics for the figures. I had this problem with other games I got recently, had basic standee's, the Acrylic standees and mini's all in the All-In Bundle, and since I am only using one of the three, the others will just sit on the shelf.
Shattered Isles as is is just the basic version of the expansion. Deluxe adds stuff like minis/acrylic standees (based on your choice), unique Beast screens etc.
I understand the limited quantity at a lower price to build momentum for the campaign early and get backers to give other backers confidence to back as well. I don’t mind it but I could see it making people who pay more upset, especially if the gap in prices is too high. My guess is the early cheaper deal is them selling games at or near cost
Early bird deals are fine to encourage backers to jump in but the issue with some campaigns is that the "limit" continually increases to make it always look like the early bird offer is almost over so people might make a decision so they don't miss out. Of course that shouldn't make a difference with purchasing decisions but making appearance of false scarcity doesn't sot well with some.
For what it’s worth Juma Al-JouJou replied to a comment that they don’t have a plan at the moment to release Millennia in retail and are focusing on direct sales to end customers.
Looking forward to Chants of the Old Ones ... Seems like a very solid middleweight game, solo and multiplayer options, and gorgeous artwork. And of course I'm always a big softie for Cthulhu theme!
I think I'm actually going to skip Final Girl this time and just pick up the few boxes I'm interested in at retail. Every pledge would force me to buy more than I actually want and the a la carte pledge isn't worth the shipping. I'm torn on Beast. It's a gorgeous game but my group just hasn't been meeting up recently so 3-4 player games haven't been hitting the table (I know it can play 2 but it seems to play better at higher) so I'm leaning towards skipping the expansion for now. I am backing Bone Wars Deluxe because it's by the same designer of Oak, which is one of my favorite games and I really love the theme. For upcoming campaigns I'm absolutely all in for the Deep Rock expansions. It's such a great game so I'm looking forward to more. Aberration is interesting, but I'll have to see what the price point looks like. It sounds like they'll actually have a standee core box available so I may be more inclined to get that.
It's really nice the final girl campaigns don't make anything (other than the mystery boxes) KS exclusive. I have a lot of respect that they don't pull the FOMO card!
I think Isofaren guard adds a lot for previous backers. Defiantly gives you a lot more then most 40 dollar expansions you can see in some games. I am concerned what the shipping will be. I am in for dragons eclipse. I LOVE the minis and the game looks fun for a lighter game. I am getting the delux with the minis and terrain. Final girl is not worth it, unless you want the Krampus mission. Each of the episodes will be 15 on mini market, as long as you buy them fast before they sell out. Overall I didn’t like final girl and I can’t sell it for what I paid so. I’m out for season 3.
Do you have any theories as to why Potions of Azerland isn't doing better? It's a new designer but Gray Baker has plenty of pedigree in the board game community for that to matter far less. It has great artwork and I've read the rulebook and it seems like a great game, in fact I backed it and expected the campaign to do quite well so I'm surprised to see it's not doing better.
Honestly, personally in the past 3 months there were 4 potion making games. All were different, but all had the same theme. I backed Chemical Overload, so for me personally don't need another game of that theme, even though they are different games. I am assuming that's why others aren't backing.

Also, the art for the Krampus Special Feature Film for Final Girl is Vincent DuTrait, not Ian O'Toole, so in case that makes a difference to anyone, keep that in mind. Both are great artists, so there is that, but credit where credit is due. I was really going to try and not go all in on Series 3 of Final Girl, but they just had to go and add a whole set of film homages that I love. S1 had like 1.5 that I liked, S2 had 3 I really wanted, but in S3 I want ALL FIVE! Darn you, Van Ryder Games!!

I would rather wait for retail and get it cheaper - which is why I did not back that campaign. So, as you can tell, I am not a big fan of that company.
Well Amygdala in the first campaign that didn't fund had the acrylics for all the tokens, however they asked backers why they weren't funding, and it was because many didn't want acrylics and just wanted a standard version. So they canceled and opened a new campaign that didn't offer the Acrylic version, which worked cause it funded. Personally would have wanted Acrylic's with that game as well, and Still wished they offered both versions, but the reason for why the game in Amygdala's case wasn't premium had to do with backers not wanting a premium version.

Also, where do I choose between the acrylics, regular miniatures or Sundrop miniatures? The returning backer Deluxe pledges contain all new stuff plus an update pack for the base game for Returning Backers. The Great Hunt is a third expansion with a new hunter and beast, that was free if you followed the campaign on gamefound. So their are additional pledges for those that didn't follow but want that third expansion. My suggestion if you followed the campaign is to get Beast and Shattered Isle Deluxe. Then choose Acrylic Standees. Trust me the game doesn't really need the mini's even though they would look really nice.

As most other gamefoud game will have China/HK with lowest price as the game is likely produced in there. As we love this game, the high shipping cost would push those Asian gamer in puzzle. I wonder whether u know why. Or there is another reason like the game will be prodiced in Europe.

Get used to more and more games having limited quantity pledges that are in fact not limited quantity. Your not in the vid game space on kickstarter, but its a common thing with them to do this, with multiple pledges with different reward tiers. Reason why it doesn't bug me as much. I get it though, its knew in this space, and is in fact a lie to get more backers to think their missing out on a deal.
At some point I may give up on the battle, but until and unless it becomes more common, I'm going to do what I can to make a stink of it whenever I see it.

You be surprised how many people want the disclaimers for all projects that are relevant. One of his vids he forgot to put a gamefound disclaimer under one of projects, you should have seen the complaints by people under that campaign bashing Board game Co for trying to push an agenda, and suggesting not to back the campaign because of it.

Keep in mind when games get too much content, they usually offer a Big Box, which reduces the overall imprint of how much the game takes up.

The Great Hunt is a third expansion with a new hunter and beast, that was free if you followed the campaign on gamefound. So their are additional pledges for those that didn't follow but want that third expansion.
My suggestion if you followed the campaign is to get Beast and Shattered Isle Deluxe. Then choose Acrylic Standees. Trust me the game doesn't really need the mini's even though they would look really nice.

As Dragon Eclipse is an excellent game but the shipping to HongHong is the highest like $50. As most other gamefoud game will have China/HK with lowest price as the game is likely produced in there. As we love this game, the high shipping cost would push those Asian gamer in puzzle. I wonder whether u know why. Or there is another reason like the game will be prodiced in Europe.

@@JJ_TheGreat Mind mgmt never clicked with me.. it’s very basic and feels like most games were determined by how well things were randomly guessed early. There can be strategy but just not a game I enjoyed 🤷🏻♂️

i'll never understand the hype for Final Girl. The gameplay loop is so repetitive and choppy.
I'm with you, but at the end of the day enough people love it that you and I clearly are not seeing something that other people are.
Get used to more and more games having limited quantity pledges that are in fact not limited quantity. Your not in the vid game space on kickstarter, but its a common thing with them to do this, with multiple pledges with different reward tiers. Reason why it doesn't bug me as much. I get it though, its knew in this space, and is in fact a lie to get more backers to think their missing out on a deal.
At some point I may give up on the battle, but until and unless it becomes more common, I'm going to do what I can to make a stink of it whenever I see it.

Do people actually want 57 exclaimers while going through these campaigns? It’s excessive in my opinion. I get it, you work for Gamefound and you are a board game TH-camr. I watch your channel because I want your opinion. If I thought you were biased I would watch someone else. It’s just counter intuitive for you to give so many exclaimers making it seem like your afraid of giving your opinion when that’s what your actually here to do. I may be in the minority here but that’s just my opinion.
I think the disclaimers are put in front of each timestamp in case people only zip to the games they care about, instead of watching the entire video.

You be surprised how many people want the disclaimers for all projects that are relevant. One of his vids he forgot to put a gamefound disclaimer under one of projects, you should have seen the complaints by people under that campaign bashing Board game Co for trying to push an agenda, and suggesting not to back the campaign because of it.

As farty says, just slow it dooown - 0.75 works well for many of the fast talkers on YT
