After feeling the rod bending, drag stripping power of a big Steelhead, there's just no other fish catching experience quite like it. Its no wonder so many anglers get addicted to it.
I’ve always heard that steelhead were a fish of 1000 casts but not for you Tyler! You are amazing. Would love to learn more about this bead technique and the steelhead fishery in Washington state. Thanks for all you do. You’re one of the best fisherman I know. Appreciate all the awesome content.
They can be a thousand casts, or you can look closely at weather, river flow measurements and tides, go out and catch 10 in a day.. Because they're not really a thousand casts, it's just that if you're in the wrong location and you're there at the wrong time you don't catch.
A Wayne’s world scene comes to mind after watching this….”We’re not worthy, we’re not worthy” man you’re good at what you do. I appreciate the videos. 🤙
Great video! Thanks for this video and all of the others you put out. I've learned a lot from your videos and two weeks ago I was up on the Olympic Peninsula and caught my first ever kokanees by following the techniques you've shown. I was on Cushman and it was awesome. I was on Merwin the week before and caught at least a dozen pike minnows but no kokanees. I also caught a half dozen or so Coastal Cutthroats shore fishing Hood Canal. Can't wait to get back up there next year and go at it again. Washington has so many opportunities compared to here in Arizona. Thanks again.
There are a TON of videos on YT ( so you won't have to go far) on how to address/fix anti-reverse issues. They seem a lot less expensive than a replacement or new reel. Saves space in the landfill too! Nice video..
Your using just a bead, no eggs? Didn't know they'd hit that. I guess if they will hit a fly or pink worm they will hit a fake egg. Good to know. I always saw the big guys back in the day using okie drifters and lil corkies and yarn but with cluster eggs on the hook.

Been awhile since I’ve watched a steelhead video! Good stuff Tyler!!

@@Black-March Makes total sense.
Bobber down!!! Great vid. Thanks again. I'll have to hang up the jigs a bit sooner in the day and give the beads some more attention.

That’s just insane! 🤯 makin it look too easy 👍
The guys across the way were seething a bit....quietly....lol
Fly anglers are typically like that. Mad about making things harder than they need be by their own choices
Really missed fishing that river. I'm going to try to get there next week. Save me one, please
I thought mandatory hatchery steelhead retention was no longer required in any Washington river. I can't find it in the 24-25 regs now.
Emergency regs
Nice
Sick
What reel were you using and what did you mean by anti slip not working?
Looks like a Pfluger president xt
Anti-reverse. Basically the reel is free to reverse instead of locking the spool and allowing the drag to engage. Its a Plfueger President
Im always one of the guys across from the guy doing this 😂. I tried to catch it but couldn’t, what rod are you using?
Nice work! Was that a hard bead??
Yes

I'll look into it.

No bait allowed in this fishery but they will absolutely hit a plain bead.
