I liked the voice of Sharda very much who was promoted by Shankar Jaikishan. She had a voice with great resonance.
Raj Kapoor had, during initial stage of his career as a director, decided to use only Lata Ji's voice under RK banner.! There, however was a rift between him and Lata on some issue and she decided not to sing for RK movies perhaps thinking that the Showman would budge..🤨!! Raj Saheb, however became adamant and discovered this Gem 💎 Sharada for "Duniya Ki Sair" or "Around The World 🌎"...!!! The film 🎥 was hit 😳 and Sharda Ji's voice became a sensation....!!!! The nightangle soon realized her mistake and rebridged relationship.....!!!!!

It is said that Shankar (of Shankar Jaikishan) used to take Sharda as a female singer when he made a tune, as he had some problem with Lata Mangeshkar.However, Jaikishan used to take Lata whenever he used to make tunes.
It is only after 'Sanyaasi'(1975) that Shankar and Lata's patch-up (first movie after d death of Jaikishan in 1971)that she started singing under Shankar's tunes.
Sharda's other songs, to name few, under Shankar's tunes are:
1) Titli udi, ud jo chali....film 'Suraj' (1966)
2) Jab bhi yeh dil udaas ho ta hey......film 'Seema'(1971)

What a song for its wholesome approach. Sarada's voice represents a deviation from the traditional queens like Lataji and Sumankalyanpur but, the impact is very impressive and adds an extra pitch for Mukesh to take the flight on from that platform. Very nostalgic down the decades.
Sharada is no Lata/Asha but has a unique voice and has sung many memorable songs.

Here is most important thing, actually Sharada was from South Indian, she don't know Hindi but by this she was proof it so she can sing, but she couldn't have been chances in bollywood during the period of Lata Mangeshkar didi. This film Around The World was made in 1967 by Pachhi, still looks so modern and up to date! I was a school boy when i saw this film in '67, and saw the US, the Niagra Falls, US_ Canada border, the Disney Land,the Hollywood, the Miami Beach, California, SanFransisco, Newyork, Washington, the Caribbean Island, and Sir Bertrand Russel, Sir Frank Worrel and the Statue Of Liberty and the mighty Atlantic Ocean in a single film! The mistique and unparallled voice of Shardaji, unique of her own, that still haunts me with gem of a beauty like Rajashree ji as heroine!
But I think this movie was a flop.

Absolutely true, SJ were the backbone of all this music miracle (and of course the lyrics of Hazrat and Shailendra). In particular Shankar, who Raj Kapoor and the film industry dropped for no reason except politics that one can understand.
