Having just watched Kansas take the 2022 title with Danny Manning cheering them on, it's fun to go back and watch his, "Shining Moment." Hard to believe it's been 34 years!!
1988 Kansas team was a very big underdog, but they are kind of forgotten with the 83’ NC State and 85’ Villanova miracle runs to the championship that were still recent.
While I like the Luther Vandross version of One Shining Moment, they should only play that version when TBS have the Final Four. The David Barrett version belongs to CBS.
Not even close. Kerr has 12 CLEAN attempts. Okl D had absolutely Nothing to do with Kerr's off-night. He even stated recently, at the 25-year reunion at the UA Red/Blue game, that he thought every single one of his shots was going in the second the ball left his fingertips. It was unexplainable.
Arizona was DEF the best team in '87-'88. Steve Kerr statistically had the worst shooting game of his life in the Final Four game against Oklahoma. If he'd hit just 3 or 4 shots, Arizona would've played KU in the championship game. The TRUE Cinderella team was the '96-'97 Arizona team that was a #4 seed, and BEAT THREE #1 Seeds on their way to the NCAA Championship.
chad roberta sorry I disagree as good as that Arizona team was Oklahoma had the better team way too many weapons for AZ and their press did them in. Kerr may have had an off night but Elliot had a huge game to pick up the slack and even that couldn't keep them in the game. 2 or 3 shots don't win it

+Paul Evereklian Yes Mark played terribly the look on John Chaney's face said it all and yes yes yes Oklahoma was better than Arizona. Those Billy Tubbs teams were always tuff,good maybe great teams tho they never won it all. I remember Wayman TIsdale(rip), Tim McCallister,Darryl Kennedy,David Johnson, and Anthony Bowie in the years before this team. I miss those days man wow! + Chad Roberts Arizona always came up short including the year after this. Not to mention the number one seeds they had and got sent home early. Lute finally pulled it off in 97 but since they haven't done much. Back then Oklahoma UNLV were known to score in the 80s and sometimes the 90s they were a good defensive and great pressing fast pace team.
+mookeychase0907 yeah no disrespect meant towards Arizona they had a great team but Oklahoma overwhelmed them the game is on here in a few places. Its actually pretty surprising how dominant Oklahoma could be at times in the game considering how good Arizona had been in the tournament.

+Donald Streaty that and they made some bad mental errors in that K State game at the end. Balls bouncing off legs, bad passes, missed free throws. Its a very strange game to watch its on youtube.
