Neat idea, I just made a drawling debut how do you get the sprinkler to spray down so it washes the bowl? And any drawings about how you make the birdbath?
I used a piece of 5/16 brass tubing. Use a tubing bender and then cut the end off so the water will shoot down. You can also pinch it together to create more pressure. The other end is cut to length to go into sprinkler head replacing the plastic nozzle.
You can actually make one yourself or if you know someone who pours bird bath bowls have them pour one with a 1 inch PVC coupling in the middle. Then put a 360 degree lawn sprinkler in the coupling using O rings and replace the plastic spray piece with a piece of brass tubing so it sprays down instead of up.

So you have no drain, you're just emptying the bath by using higher pressure water flow, then to fill you're just lowering the pressure right?

Not possible! Even in really hot weather mine only rinses & refills once a day to keep the water fresh. Tales all of three minutes.
Needs to be dirty before you can call it cleaning.
Birds bring in enough trash on there own. No need to let it get filthy before rinsing and refilling. Be nice to your Birds.
