Badly done. There was no "Serbia" in the 12th century, only before that. After 12th century the name of the country you are referring to here is "Rascia". Only after Dushan the Strong is it renamed into Serbian Empire. Duklja is referred to as Serbia as often as Rascia is. Also, the Vlastimirovic Serbia extended it's rule over Zachumlia and Pagania, Travunia and Docleia, which you didn't show.
Bulgaria was done pretty well tho.

@Mattias Alterschild Untill 1900 never did balkans hate eachother. Never did croats been in war with serbs or bosnians. Bosnia and Serb people did war but some people bc of land and only bc of that. Mostly they were working together or just alon fighting big powers. They started fighting vs eachother after they kicked otomans... And tho ye serbia did fight Bulgarians back in 10 century but those Bulgarians were ruled by Mongolic tribe who idk if even exist today. Today Bulgarian people have same bloodline as every slavic nation in Balkan.

@vasilmirmidonski2740 And you should go back to Bulgaria, since that's the language you speak and that's the ethnicity you had all the centuries prior to the last decades.
So, arguing that we Greeks, the ones who have the records of all you when you first appeared in the area, we have the records of when you migrated, conquered and settle the lands of Greek people is funny and shows a lot how a much our time period is characterized by a rise of pseudo history and false revisionisms.
You have nothing, absolutely nothing to do with the ancient macedonians which were a greek people...we are the natives of our own lands...we never take, we reclaim. So next time you will try to appropriate ancient Greek history and Greek lands, look yourself in the mirror take a breath and dive in in some real history bulgar.

    • @tonit4233
      @tonit4233 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

You are both a fantastic example of how stupid and toxic Serbian and Bulgarian nationalism can be.
First Dushan had a Serbian identity and that is what matters . All monarchs of medieval Europe were of mixed ethnic backgrounds due to the often practice of diplomatic marriages.
Secondly calling the Bulgarians mongol is absolutely brainless. All anthropological analysis on the escavations of the supposedly "Turkic" nobility of the first Bulgarian empire clearly show that these people had an absolutely european phenotype with a small and insignificant Asian admixture. Also the slavs with whom the Bulgars mingled had nothing to do with the Serbs. Especially when you consider that the border of the Serbian principality (tribal Union) was almost 200 kilometers westwards from the region inhabited by the seven slavic tribes.

    1. The first records of South Slavs go back to the early 6th century when they were mentioned as raiders and invaders who sacked Toperus and took tens of thousands of "Romans" as slaves.
    2. The first recorded supreme ruler of South Slavs was Daurentius/Dervan/Dobreta, mid the 6th century.
    3. Montenegro, which was the last vestige of the Medieval Serb state, was never conquered by the Ottoman Empire, officially known as the Prince-Bishopric of Montenegro.
    4. Revolutionary Serbia's first state arose as a result of the first Serbian Uprising, and lasted for 9 years, between 1804 and 1813.
    5. The Duchy of Croatia and the Principality of Serbia were founded in the early 7th century.

The greatest obstacle to the empire's revival was the presence to the south ofthe Danube of the Bulgar khaganate with its capital at Pliska and a southern frontier in the Hebros/Maritza valley only three days march from Constantinople. In 780 the Bulgar state had survived in close proximity to Byzantium for almost a century, taking advantage of the empire's internal problems and wars against the Arabs, and this survival had hardened it into an extremely tough political entity. Its Turkic ruling elite combined the military ferocity of the steppe people they had been with the agricultural resource base of the Slav peasantry they dominated and with the skills of civilization acquired from Greek traders, captives, and defectors.

The Pliska temple may have been in fact a monument erected to commemorate Krum, as the surviving elements of the building are strikingly similar to a number of similar monuments erected for the Turkic qagans in present-day Mongolia. Four other similar structures have been found in Pliska, Madara, and Preslav, all of rectangular or square shape with a north-south or east-west orientation. For the architecture of the “pagan temples” of Bulgaria, see S.
Curta, F. (2006). The rise of new powers (800-900). In Southeastern Europe in the Middle Ages, 500-1250 (Cambridge Medieval Textbooks, pp. 111-179). Cambridge: Cambridge University Press.
Further evidence linking the Balkan Bulgar state to Turkic cultural traditions was the nature of the Bulgars' primary settlement at Pliska, with its resemblance to a steppe encampment, and a Bulgar tradition of stone relief carvings and inscriptions found scattered throughout the eastern Danubian Plain.
      P. Hupchick, D., 2017. The Bulgarian-Byzantine Wars for Early Medieval Balkan Hegemony. Cham: Springer International Publishing.
Bulgaria at this time had acquired some traits typical of a barbarian state, because the bellicose tribe of the Bulgars had imported the Turkic traditions of the great steppe into the Balkans.

The South Slavic tribal groups moved south and southwest from their Pripet homeland, eventually entering the Byzantine-controlled Balkan Peninsula as either allies of or refugees from the invading Turkic Avars during the second half of the sixth century. Their search for a new, permanent homeland proved successful. Today their descendants solidly inhabit virtually all of the northwestern, central, and southeastern regions of the Balkans.
Turks comprise a third ethnic component of the Balkan population. Although today numerically small-a little over 1 million people (about 2 percent of the total population) they have played a role in shaping the history of the Balkans far beyond their numbers.
In late antiquity the rolling plains of the Danube and Prut rivers in the Balkans' northeast served Turkic tribes from the Eurasian steppes as an open door into the heart of the peninsula and the riches of the Eastern Roman Empire. Huns and related tribes swept through the Balkans in the fifth and sixth centuries, followed by the Avars and their allies in the sixth and seventh. Among these latter were the Bulgars, who established a state south of the Danube. Unlike the Avars, whose settlements in the Balkans proved transitory, the Bulgar state persisted in the face of concerted Byzantine pressures. By the ninth century the Bulgars were challenging the Byzantine Empire for political hegemony in the Balkans, but by that time they also were well on the way toward ethnic assimilation into their Slavic-speaking subject population. The conversion of the Turkic Bulgar ruling elite to Orthodox Chris-tianity at midcentury opened the gate to their rapid and total Slavic assimilation. Within a hundred years of the Bulgar conversion, most traces of their Turkic origins had disappeared, except for their name-the Bulgars had been transformed into Slavic Bulgarians
Oğuz, Pecheneg, and Cuman Turkic tribes appeared in the Balkans between the ninth and eleventh centuries. Most of them eventually suffered an ethnic fate similar to the Bulgars and left little lasting impression, although the Gagauz Turks of Bessarabia, a region lying east of the Prut River (now known as Moldova), and some Turks living today in the eastern Balkans may be direct ethnic descendants of those medieval Turkic interlopers. Additionally, the Ottoman Turks' five-century rule over most of the Balkans established numerous scattered enclaves of Turkish- speaking groups throughout much of the southern portion of the peninsula, with a heavy concentration in the southeastern region of ancient Thrace.

A lot of Croatians left Croatia the second they joined EU.
In Bosnia they have calculated even those bosniaks that live outside of Bosnia, and that was a huge issue.

@@KayraAtakanQX Carantanian Slavs formed a majority in Carantania, Lower Panonia and Carniola (another principality, which you didn't show). They soon came under rule of Bavarians and Franks, some of them were part of Nitra and Great Moravia. Their descendants are Slovenes, Kajkavian Croats and minorities (+assimilated people) in Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia. Slovenian language is a mix between West Slavic and South Slavic, South Slavic component being stronger.
