There are great winter skincare practices incosmetic dermatologist Dr Shereene Idriss winter hacks video. The lip basting she explains is the best thing for chapped lips.
I would love a video for moisturizers during winter for dry skin!! all of the ones you mentioned are definitely not enough for my dry skin lol. I need a heavy thick night cream for winter & I have no idea of any! If anyone else has any recs definitely welcome ! I just prefer no fragrance or essential oils :)
Have you tried the Cerave Skin Renewing Night Cream? It is so moisturizing I have to be careful to not put too much on. The price is crazy low for a quality night cream - I can usually buy it for about $16.
@@DallasNatureLover I have not! Thank you! But I have since found a night cream/system I’ve been really enjoying.:) I’ve been using the cosrx snail cream, and over top the purito dermide barrier balm. For an expensive option I’ve actually been loving the tatcha indigo overnight repair cream 🥺
@@rhileynnna Everyone who tries that Tacha cream loves it. One day I will splurge and buy it! I enjoy finding drugstore skin products so I have more money to spend on pedicures and massages. Dr Idriss lip basting starts with applying a small amount of Revitalift 10% glycolic acid serum to the lips first then a moisturizer, then an occlusive. It stings a little but I have been shocked at how smooth my lips are in the morning!
Neutrogena stubborn blackheads daily serum is a life changer. Contains 0.5% of SA, 10% of GA and 10% of PHA+mandelic acid. Fragrance free obviously but it smells like a old mop really not pleasant but EXTREMELY affective. it was like 15$ CA in my local drugstore so probably cheaper in the US. My face is so soft like baby butt and brighter. I like to use it 2 days in a row and take 2 days off to avoid over exfolianting and damaging my skin barrier. I recommend to apply this serum at night only because if you do it in the morning you might experience irritation or redness because of the good % of GA even if you wear sunscreen.
Thank you! Would you be able to do a video on hand eczema care for the winter with product recommendations? Also your thoughts on skincare products with essential oils especially citrus oils? Would love to hear your thoughts! Thanks
Great video, I have definitely learn a lot from watching you. I am taking better care of my skin now and seeing good results. Two grey areas for me. Can you explain how to use barrier creams and why we need it and what to use to combat dry, flaky, patchy skin on eyelids? Thnx❤❤❤
Hi! Doc Liu. I’m suffering for burning itching face skin problem, for some reason anything that I’m using from facial wag, moisturizer and sunscreen is not accepting my face. I did my rhinoplasty it’s been 4 months now. But after that my skin changed for very million times sensitive, I tried a lot of products from drug store to high end , and now my dermatologist gave this topical cream ( Ketoconazole 2%) to use all over my face Am-Pm and follow with moisturizer but she didn’t tell me what is the best moisturizer, facial cleanser and sunscreen to use, she just said use to help this burning itching to my face, now im currently using this cerave foaming cleanser and cerave Pom moisturizer with Cetaphil mineral sunscreen, and before that I was using gentle Cetaphil facial cleanser but it doesn’t feel my face clean, so I have to double cleans with bioderma micellar water, and La Roche posay double repair face moisturizer this cream is tolerable my itching burning face but in the morning when I wakeup it’s feels like heavy and have a film on my face.. I’m looking forward to hear from you some recommendation or what to do.. thank you 🙏
Hello doc…… i reallyy love watching your informative videos and I wanted to ask you that I am 25 now and I want to start my anti aging/retinoid journey. So for that purpose can I start with the CeraVe retinol serum? Is it a great option for a beginner? Hoping for your answer 😊

Very Interesting video! ❤Please iam not english speaker but Is the 0,2 retinol in squalane the ordinary for night time and 8 acide ascorbique + 2 alpha arbutin for day time are good liposal option to use for fall season? Iam 22 y-old woman and I do have sensitive dry dehydrated skin skin and melasma.
my hair used to be super nice but after i used to use pantene rose shampo conditioner and use a bad hairdryer with no products, my hair turned into a mess.itd better now but its still so frizzy and dry with spilt ends. theres tiny hairs that pop out of my starnds, even wet. idk whst to do😭😭 the person who cut my hair just said to use lots of product
Not sure your hair type... but I love ancient egyptian by the mane choice, and the leave in conditioner by my black is beautiful. If you use these, occasionally braid your hair and put in a silk bonnet overnight... the results are great. I stopped using the "normal" shampoos and condioners - and I will not go back. Other great ones are one and only conditioning cowash, or shea moisture black castor oil conditioner.
This is such great information! I was wondering- it feels like I need to apply some moisturizer or something midday or my skin is dry and hurts a little at night when I go to do my evening routine. Is this normal? What should I use?
Have you tried using a moisturizing sunscreen during the day! I use one by DRMTLGY. If you do a Google search for hydrating sunscreens you will find at least one article with a list of them
Not related to the video at all, but I really wanted to ask someone knowledgeable about this. this is what my skin type is like. It's really oily. like really really oily. But I'm 90% sure that it's dehydrated, because when i was like 13 it was dry (that was before i hit puberty to be fair), and I tried the cerave foaming cleanser it didn't work, and the hydrating one did which surprised me. this is my current routine: AM: cerave hydrating cleanser. cerave pm moisturizer (I know it's for pm but people saying it works for am too) isntree hyaluronic acid spf 50 sun gel PM cerave hydrating cleanser. cerave resurfacing retinol (every 3rd night, essentially 2 times a week) cerave pm moisturizer. I'm wondering a few things: Should I use the beauty of Joseon green plumb cleanser (a youtuber recommended me this, its like a gel type cleanser, it lathers and foams) even though I probably have dehydrated skin so it produces an unholy amount of oil? If not, what cleanser do you recommend for dehydrated skin that produces tons of oil? Or should I stick to the one I'm currently using? I really do believe that my skin is really dehydrated, and I'm looking to change my moisturizer and hopefully fix my overproducing oil. Are there any good fragrance-free moisturizers you can recommend? I've heard that paulas choice 2% salicylic acid is really good for oil control, and I want to use it along with my retinol. Just a side note, I've been using retinol for like 2-3 weeks and it seems to be no irritation. Can you tell me how I can use it with my retinol? Like what days during the week? How many times per week? how can I increase my dose of retinol over time while using the pauals choice bha? Thank you so so much for taking the time to read this
I’m just another person with skin, who really likes skincare, so take these reccs anyway you want… The PC 2% BHA liquid is great. If you really use the SPF daily, you could use it in the morning before your lotion. That way you don’t have to deal with possible irritation combining it with retinoids as you increase the # of days you use it. I used to use the 2% BHA every morning when I was younger and had oilier skin. Have you tried any hydrating toners or serums? They can be great to add humectants to your skin without the weight of lotions or creams. Look for glycerin, beta-glucan, hyaluronic acid, there are more im not thinking of right now. I really like the Isntree Fresh Green Tea toner. I use it for the antioxidant but I think they also make some sebum controlling claims. K-beauty has an endless number of hydrating toners to try. IUNIK has a beta-glucan serum that I’ve used and liked. The inkey list has a hyaluronic acid serum and a poly-glutamic acid product that I’ve never tried but should be good for hydration. The ordinary has hyaluronic acid in many serums (including with Niacinamide that also might be good for oily skin). I like their marine hyaluronic serum. A gentle hydrating toner can be used after your cleanser or bha toner and you can use more than one layer of you like it. I just apply with my hands rather than a cotton pad. If the toner or serum is gentle without potentially irritating “active” ingredients they can be used am and pm, including in same routine with a retinoid. Good luck and have fun building up your skincare routine. The real test is how it feels to you and how your skin responds.
@@whatnext715 sorry for the late reply, but when should i use the snail mucin essence (how many times a week? after PC bha? if so how many times per week for the bha?)
@@smxzli5466 I’d try the bha 2 or 3x per week to start, see if it feels irritating, does it help using it a few times a week. Then increase in a way that feels right to you. Many people use it daily if it agrees with their skin. I’d use the snail essence daily. The most important things is to see how your skin feels and adjust. You’ll be the best judge. As far as layering order, generally it is thinnest to thickest, water to cream/oil. If you have a liquid exfoliant, that’s pretty easy since it goes first, then hydrating toners, serums and lotions if you want. Sunscreen goes last (before makeup). Hope that helps.
Hi! I was wondering if it’s safe to use LRP cicaplast b5 around the eyes? Because in the bottle it says you shouldn’t apply it around the eye area. I’m actually just transitioning my skincare routine for wintertime, so this video was perfect timing! Thank you for the video. I was actually looking into buying the Inkey list PHA toner or the ordinary lactic acid serum. I’m on the fence. I also need to replace my daytime cream because I ran out, but slugging a few nights a week with Vaseline has been skin-saving! Really big help for my combo dry skin in the very dry environment where I live.
