    This channel has become my go to connection for all things Haiti. You just don't find this kind of content anywhere else. I watch a ton of TH-cam channels and they don't cover this side of Haiti at all. Great work SeeJeanty!

      Have you seen his coverage of our hospital ? Centre Hospitalier de Fontaine? He was the first willing to visit us in Cité-Soleil and that video fast tracked our success ❤

      That’s cause they have a bad propaganda about Haiti and they just be showing you one part where everything is happening on the news, but Haiti have 10 departments. They just be showing the one side so people could go to DR instead cause they have of businesses there and keep Haitians poor so they can go built DR for them. Cause Dominicans don’t want to work in the Sun they don’t want to get to dark

    It's such a shame about Haiti's ongoing problems. We have so many fond memories of Haiti but what is going on in Haiti now is nauseous. However, not everyone thinks Haiti is Hell and that sentiment would not just be limited to Graham Greene were he alive. Of course, Graham was one of the great writers of the 20th Century. One other ex-spook used to love Haiti until the TonTon Macoute hunted him down like a wild animal. If you relish and yearn for Haitian spy thrillers as curiously and bizarrely compelling as Graham Greene’s Comedians, yearn for the cruel stability of the Duvaliers and have frequented Hôtel Oloffson you're never going to put down Bill Fairclough's fact based spy thriller Beyond Enkription in The Burlington Files series. It's a raw noir thriller but it is so real you may have nightmares of being back in Port au Prince anguishing over being a spy on the run. The trouble is, if you were a spook being chased by the TonTon Macoute in the seventies you were usually cornered and ... well best leave it to your imagination or simply read Beyond Enkription. It’s considered compulsory reading for espionage aficionados.
    See theburlingtonfiles.org and if you have any questions remember the best quote from The Burlington Files to date is "Don't ask me, I'm British" but do read The Comedians first if you have not done so recently.

      ok, now you got me curious. I have to check that book out. Are you saying the The Comedians must be read first though?

    • @mi6uk
      @mi6uk 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@begebel No need to read the Comedians first. About a quarter (at the end) of Beyond Enkription is based on or relates to an operation in Haiti. What is interesting is that some think it was a prelude to a cancelled Haitian equivalent of the Cuban Bay of Pigs ... we'll probably never know. Beyond Enkription is a great read anyway - raw, noir and the characters are powerful so don't even think of arguing with Sara Burlington because you might loath her initially but you'll eventually love her!
