大学生追问撤销固打制 安华打断称"我们若败选，国盟执政你更苦"

- 昨天，首相安华昨天在槟城甲抛峇底一所大学预科班学院出席对话会时，一名非土著学生提问政府是否打算废除大学固打制，但安华未等学生问完就打断。
安华打断她说：“没事，我从不曾逃避它，直接提问即可。”
这名学生接着说：“我有朋友获得7A1B没有机会进入大学预科班，我有朋友获得8A，却只能在上诉后于第二轮录取进入大学预科班。”
“但是，我们却看到有1至3A、成绩单上有C和D的学生能够在第一轮就获得录取……”
这时，安华再度打断她说，“好的好的，我明白，这个问题在我早前的活动上就已经回答了。”
“如果你有追踪之前‘与安华会面’的活动，你就会知道我已经回答了。下次，请追踪它。”
他也说，“如果安华（安华自称）说要废除固打制，我们会输掉所有选举，你会在伊党和土著团结党的执政下过得更加辛苦。要明白这点。”
安华补充，已经指示教育部要考虑非土著而成绩优秀的学生，但别说要直接取消固打制。

这就是我国的政治现实，首相安华是真诚坦率的，他和希盟也没法解决（在这一届或日后很多届），除非马来族群在政治上本身能够醒觉并形成足够强的意愿到自发进行改革（无奈这可能性也很低）。所以非马来族群也只能自强不息，自寻出路。所以，非马来人才外流之势是无法阻止的，也是这国家自己造成的损耗结果。
希望这位勇气可嘉的学生不会为这提问付出被马来同学和老师针对的代价。

The objective is obviously dividing nonbumis votes. If PH with more parliamentary seat lacking of malay support cannot and dare not to change the policy. What makes u think that MUDA that has lesser or no seat or lesser in supporter in parliment can do anything? Be realistic, its not day one nonbumis have lesser quota. The realistic move is to grow our country economy and revisit this issue when our economy is strong. When our economy is strong the gvt might be able to subsidize all students in private Uni as well. In order to solve quota issue is to have stronger economy, build more Uni, subsidize even private uni. Then quota will be solve easily. Everything we need to improve require stronger economy. So, economy is our priority, not all thse useless talks by MUDA.

Option 1: bina universiti lagi utk menerima murid murid yg pandai. Jgn murid murid pandai 7A 8A ditolak krn quota. Malaysia patut ada satu universiti utk murid murid terbaik, siapa pandai, die blh dapat tempat belajar.
Option 2 : biar masyarakat bina universiti utk menerima murid murid pandai tak kira kaum dan bangsa, utk meningkatkan status Universiti bertanding dgn dunia.

We shared similar experiences and frustrations with the young lady during our study lives. Knowing that your results are far better than others but have been rejected for further tertiary education.
Instead of harping on Malay special privileges and social contracts, the NEW government can increase budget allocation to expand and enhance infrastructure for matriculation courses. As the pie grows bigger, everyone will get a fair share, and there will be fewer complaints.
Secondly, maintain the current quota intake at existing universities, but we can establish at least two totally new universities where the intake will be based on meritocracy.
Thirdly, build more semi-government universities to cater for those who have been declined entry due to the present quota system.

说个中国大陆的故事，中国的各地高考难易度以及录取率差异自上世纪中国恢复高考就存在。对于此2002年曾有山东考生状告北京教委曾一度造成全国性的舆论冲突，到了2018年作为既得利益者的北京高考状元在接受采访时表示自己主要是靠着家境和政策优惠才能当状元有羞愧疚感而中国的高考制度仍旧畸形没有任何改善。如今又过去五年每年高考季问题都会引来热议但制度永远不会更改，甚至天津市人才引进还冠冕堂皇的把自身受特殊优待作为卖点宣传。

At first, I don't like quota system and with 9As I still failed to enter matikulaisi. I accept his response to this and understand a little bit, I think all teachers need to watch this so that they can explain to the students who are confused too
as I know matrikulasi is designed for bumi, then many request open to non bumi, then come up the quota 10%. definitely I dont support any quota system, but I think non bumi can thru others path.

This is the first PM giving promise to ensure good students getting the high education. This is hopeful enough. I would say education is important especially to raise equally among races especially Malay who are the majority in this country. More people like Syed Saddiq is needed to bring up the whole country. We cannot let another Najib to rule the country. I agree that there’s no simple solutions for this matter. It take times, for us to learn things. It will take times to be execute, especially on education.
We have a promising leader right now, let’s go with him. And we can have our choice again based on the ruling parties execution result. I don’t wish PN to rule, they are playing emotion trick on race issue but don’t have plan for development. We can be like Singapore, we can be better than Singapore. i’d agree there’s no way system quota can be removed in even one or two terms’ time. That’s the fact and we got to manage our expectations. But I think the system should be improved, for example providing a transparent selection criteria. From this video, I can see PMX is keen to help people from poorer background and provide education support to this part of the society. BUT, i also have malay friend whose parents are doctors, yet he went to matriculations over an average result. This is an inconsistency between what Anwar wants, and what is actually happening.

Malaysia education quota system is good for me.. I left Malaysia to study overseas and work since 30 years ago. 30 years ago university graduated earned 2,500 average per mth. Today the salary more or less the same. My family would get hungry if we still earn ringgit.

Msia is unique in our multi-racial population where we have deep roots in our respective races and we maintained our tradition, sense of identity and ways of living. The NEP was developed with a short/mid term aim of bringing various races to a more level playing field so that eventually ppl can compete with each other regardless of race. Unfortunately the policy wasn't utilized to serve the real purpose in the previous generation. I think its good that in this generation we have a govt (or half govt, considering its a kerajaan perpaduan) to move things into the right track. But the reality is, its a marathon. Merit policies can only be implemented when there is more balance in the society, where there is less feeling of inferiority.

I'd hope the PM could explain about the equality and equity issue that the gov trying to solve here, instead of just shot her down and threatened that the other party will treat you even worse! It is fair if we have lower requirements for rural students to get admission compared to urban area, also consider financial and etc. based on needs basically. I would admit that he is a good leader, nothing wrong with what he have said. That is the truth. The quota status for the minorities has always been like this, but there would be a need to consider again for the intakes regarding 1As, 2As and so on if matriculation is meant for the best. We can’t change the social mindset but we can change ourselves. However, I have came across with the majority who didn’t realised about the quota. That shocked me when I was pursuing my study in university.

quota system can abolish, but not in near future. need time. too many poor areas, poor people living in kampung with lack of basic infrastructure still in this country. we need to balance it all up otherwise the society will face with bigger problem of inequality. but i think poor indians too should be given priorities, so many of them are very poor and were neglected.
Alternatively the government should allow more private universities be established in Malaysia, and though other races excellent students not admitted in Government universities but admitted in private universities shall be given subsidy or grants for them to study in private local universities.

How to navigate through quota system ? Find an alternative means like TAR university, Xieman university besides other private universities. MOE job to find a solution whether to loosen up existing quota system OR recommend expansion of non public universities. As the country progress the quota system will ultimately diluted. Increase the size of economy pie is a key. No miracle is pure hardwork.

If the reason for keeping the quata system is because of class disparity (poor Vs rich, city Vs kampung) than the criteria should be class based ie: 60% from city schools 40%, but instead it is base on race.
That won't solve the issue. Maybe getting worse for non Malays. Do you really think non Malays could conquer cities quota? Malays middle-class in the cities getting better and better in these recent years.

Malaysia needs to move away from racial politics and racial policies in order to move forward, the fact non-malays are getting lesser and by the decade is very reason we must protect Malaysia's multi-racial/multi-culture identity by moving pass race, if the issue is class than policies should be geared to class and not to race.
i acknowledge that the majority lower class is of malay brotheren and to close the class gap the gov needs to strengthen the economy and be able to help the lower class of all race

I am a PN supporter. In my opinion when it comes to education the country must be fair the all its citizen. The quota must be implemented fairly as per what is said for those at a disadvantaged for example the poor and those in remote villages where the education system is subpar compared to the township.
But at the same time be fair to the non Bumis with good results as they are Malaysian too. I can understand how these young people feels. They were born and bred here proud to be Malaysian and yet are not given the same chance in education. I would wish any govt to find a solution to benefit all races for the good of the country. And the religion of Islam promotes fairness.
