Absolutely fantastic video. Very informative, bravo bravo from across the water in the uk. I have a barn owl, i have mastered indoor glove training, he now knows me and my glove is a place for food and also safety. I move to start outdoor training soon, many more distractions in the garden but we will get there. My next bird is going to be a harris hawk, i will use what ive learned from your video. Is that a red tail you trained there?
Southern Woods Falconry its bloody difficult mate, i can tell you lol. They do not have a crop so training is very time taking but rewarding when you get there. 😆
During the initial training, I feed her a variety of chicken gizzards and mice. The chicken doesn't put weight on her so she's able to eat but we can also keep training easily. Once we start hunting together, her diet usually goes to squirrel and rabbit for the whole season to make sure she gets everything she needs in her diet.
@@andycampsall3832 if you go on holiday some sponsors will take care of it for you. You can also install a small drop box or some way for a friend to drop food in their enclosure.a friend without a falconry license can feed your hawk but they can not handle it.
audigy4x Journalisms is a great job and you get to do all sorts of stuff. But, as a Falconer I’m too young to work at a Falconry centre so I’m head volunteer. If you want to get a job with birds your options is the RSCPA or to apply to your local Falconry centre. Th issue with Falconry is that in all honesty it doesn’t pay much so for people to employ in Falconry takes a bit of luck and time. Best of luck!
Hawk tuah
This is inspiring. One of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. Proof that we can be one with nature
The fact that this is even possible is amazing.

Thank! Yes it is, I've been out with Harris Hawks a number of times and they are sweet birds. I wouldn't even know where to start with an owl!

I have lanner falcon doesnt come to my hand...he sees meat and then ignore tell me why...??
how much time you manning ur bird ?
how day you go to next step ?
Is the training method the same for kestrel?
Yes, it's very similar. However, with kestrels you have to be absolutely obsessive about their weight because they're such small birds.
What do you feed her during training?
During the initial training, I feed her a variety of chicken gizzards and mice. The chicken doesn't put weight on her so she's able to eat but we can also keep training easily. What are the things you keep in your bag?
I always have permits and licenses, knife, game shears, tidbits, freezer bag for caught game, a lure, med kit for dog and bird, and a monocular
What is a recommended bird to start with as a beginner?
Andy Campsall as an apprentice falconer you are by law only allowed to keep a red tailed hawk or an American kestrel for at least the first 2 years
Mike Dun what about if you go on holiday what do you do with your bird?
Mike Dun and are you talkin US or U.K. laws?
@@andycampsall3832 I am talking about the usa
