The Tokays will always be my favourite geckos...they are just beautiful, and as a bonus, also get to an impressive size. Their call makes them even more unique, if you can put up with it.
Tokay geckos are probably some of the most underrated geckos in herpetoculture. Mark my words that will change drastically in the next decade. A combination of supply and demand + them going CITES and such. I’m already seeing they are more sought after and their value is going up.

A few years ago I had a 14" male Tokay that was the most beautiful animal (and enclosure) I had ever owned...he was on the verge of death when I "rescued" him...he was nearly pitch back, and though large, was super skinny...seeing him plump up and turn from that into gorgeous blue with bright orange/red spots was surreal...didn't even look like the same animal anymore. I had to give him up due to housing issues, but as soon as I have space, I'll hopefully get another one, or maybe even try to get a breeding pair...I was always scared to breed my original Tokay because he was super aggressive, even for a Tokay. I think because of how I bought him...on the verge of death because he escaped and was running around loose in a Big Al's Aquarium...they couldn't catch him for several months...and that's when I got him...for $10. They had their adult Tokay housed in 12x12x18 enclosures...I'd never have purchased one from them in normal circumstances...I only go there for marine aquarium supplies as it's the only brick and mortar on my city that sells that stuff. Anyway...you'll likely never read this so I'll leave it there and just say thanks for all the awesome gecko content!
My favorite would be crested geckos. They have really cool colorations and not one created gecko looks the same as another one. The only downside for me is that you can only hold it for around 15 minutes a day.
I think cause it was my first gecko experience, but those gorgeous bright coloured day geckos 🦎 that live on the islands of Hawaii are my first favs, they seem to have different personalities, running up onto your table to drink the condensation off your drink glass..and they’re so dang cute, as far as the rest? They’re all my favs! In their own way!!!

They're all so interesting and beautiful in their own ways! Shout out to Jabba and Leela for being extra chunky and adorable, though. Plus super excited about food. I feel you, girl.

Do they mainly feed on that diet and eat less crickets? I always enjoy them licking the stuff. And Pingu looked so cute when she licked her lips after the juicy cricket with a smile.

A few months back I would have answered this question with leachie because they are so beautiful and so flabby and it's just so adorable, but after watching some of your videos I've come to realize that an even more beautiful and complex species of gecko has to be the tokay gecko. I personally I have two crested geckos and they're the best I love them so much but tokay geckos really take the cake when it comes to pattern and color I love orange on any lizard and the tokay gecko just takes that to new heights.
The cat gecko is my personal favourite, they have a very cool looking and slender body, and not to mention their cute sleeping position tht looks like a cat

Another question from someone that has never had a bioactive enclosure is... do they smell? Like do they smell dirty/damp/stagnant/compostey? Does it dominate the room smell if you only had one in your bedroom let’s say or would you not notice it? Hopefully you can assert all of them, thanks!!!

I think tegus are the most interesting reptile in my opinion cuz on what I hear about tegus is like that they are easy to take careful for a monitor and can be like a puppy dog sometimes but that’s what I hear in never seen a tegu before but I hope I do some day

creteys and Leos have a specplace in my hear the come in cool morphs and locality and cresteys tail cant regrow when it falls of which is a relife and i love tokays and Tikie i like how they say "TOKAY" i love day geckos there tail and skin can fall off and there butiful i love all reptiles and mostly lzards
I cannot decide on the most unique gecko. Frog eyes are cool but so are New Zealand greens, giant bent toes and more. Hell even cresteds are not your average geckos.
I do but not every feeding. Unless your supplement is to be used every feeding (that’s usually only the case with baby/growing animals). You only need to be dusting prey a few times a week. Especially if you are properly gutloading crickets :).
I love cresties. I know they are pretty standard and for a lot of people kinda boring. But I have 2 of them and they have such different personalities! And both of them are kinda suicidal maniacs who knows how glass doors work in theory and if you thow yourself enough times at them they might open!

It's hard to say what gecko is the best, they all have pros and cons and all have special qualities. But I love the look of gargoyle geckos.
One of the coolest geckos, that im never going to get unfortunately, is the beautiful New Zealand Rough Gecko.

Wash thoroughly, then heat up in the oven or sauna to kill any bacteria and dry it up
