Thanks for sharing this with us, Kev. A lot of guys don't talk about the depression, lows and highs of living on the West Coast and many of us were simply not equipped to deal with it. The same thing with how to cope with grief. Some of us just resorted to violence on the next person available or crossed us as we couldn't express it properly. Mentioned before. One of my sandlots got a 280Z, silver. He used to wash it up, wax it up and leave those parking lights on at dusk. FLY. I had a Z28, w/T-Tops, and a bra.my joint was 💯 We were young young, I'm talking 1984. Damn his car was fast fast, cause we used to race. My racing was while smoking weed and drinking either Private Stock or Canadian Mist. My Z didn't have enough horses for that Z though. The beast in my area were the 5.0 Mustangs.....Thanks for the memories....damn, it seems I never see an 280s......

Kmac,was it 280 or 260,cuz I thought it went from the 240,260 around the mid 70s then the late 70s when it was still Datsun.?
Production of the 240Z ended in September 1973. The 260Z launched for the 1974 model year to replace the 240Z, and as its name suggests, displacement from the straight-six was stroked to 2.6 liters. The 1977 280Z brought out the increased stroke to 2.8 liters.
The first 300ZX debuted as a 1984 model and was the first Z car to feature a Nissan/Datsun badge , as Nissan began to phase out its U.S.-specific Datsun branding, completed in 1985. So 280Z , not to be mistaken with the dark blue 280Z on Dayna's . 😎
