Rebeca Beltran thanks! So now are you working towards a criminal justice degree with focus in psychology? I think I’m going for my bachelors in psych first too
I love the career route you are taking and the specific goals you want to meet in your career by the way. I'm currently in a masters program studying applied behavior analysis. I'm working towards becoming a board certified behavior analyst and will be working with children and teens with autism. I am definitely considering a career path like yours later on down the line. Thanks for the informative video 😊
I'm also currently in an ABA masters program, but I'm seriously thinking of changing to Ms clinical psychology with a specialization in forensic psychology. I've always been more interested in forensics. Best of luck with your program and the BCBA exam!!
Hey this is amazing. This video has opened my m ind so much more about forensic psychology. Im thinking more about clinical forensic psychology and getting my medical degree and becoming a forensic psychologist. Thank you for the information.

I am from Canada and we do not have a PsyD we have PH.D Psychology and that's the highest otherwise we would do a Masters in Forensics Psychology after getting an undergrad in anything social science related or law related
As a Senior High student nearing his graduation what would you recommend as a starting point in college? I am interest in both the Law and Psychology, I want to understand and try to help criminals and victims in their situation. Is this essentially the Clinical Forensic Psychology you were talking about? Also in total how many years have you been studying in College?

Hi Kayla! I’m only 16 but I have a couple of questions i’m hoping you can answer. I want to major in psychology, and I want to work with the court system ( prosecution or defence ) and see if patients are fit to stay in trial. Then do I just do a masters? I’m just confused about it all. I hope you can help me out
You don't have to take anything specific in high school. And you can apply to any university for psychology, or forensic psychology if you're able to find an undergraduate program. After undergrad you can go on and do your Masters or your doctorate. But for your specific career choice, you will need a doctorate degree
The school I’m attending this fall doesn’t have a forensic psychology major, do you know if I’d be able to major in psychology and minor in criminology and then potentially transfer to a school that has forensic psychology for my masters and doctorate? Thanks so much for this video!
Hey just wondering with this degree would I be able to go straight into working as a probation officer or youth worker job or do you think I would need a masters also? Hope you can help. Thanks x
Of course! So false memories are essentially memories that are implanted. So for example, there is a certain way children should be questioned because they are more prone to creating false memories. Sometimes we (as in humans) will make up things that never happened, but we believe they have. That is essentially a false memory. (So remembering you went to Disney Land when in fact you have never been is an example of a false memory).
@@kayladanielle2358 that is so interesting! A lot of my childhood feels vague when I think back and certain things I remember are so horrible that I question whether they actually happened. With that being said, if I had obtained a minor in forensics with my B.A. in psychology, many jobs could potentially see that as a negative. I could substitute many of the classes in my B.A. for classes only related to forensics, so any job outside of forensics that’s just simply psychology-related may not think I have the educational understanding they’re wanting and instead only know about forensics(even worse: they could hire you but give you a lower pay since your educational history isn’t “broad enough”). A pro to this is IF you get a job in forensic psychology, it looks amazing! It won’t up your pay, but it MIGHT increase your chances in the event that it’s you against another person without a minor. But that’s rare. There’s more that I suggest you look into but this was the main reason I decided against it. No payoff other than bragging rights, but TONS of negatory response.
