I totally agree with Eisen here, but he also proves why there is an East Coast bias when it comes to voting awards when he doesn't know good young kids like Canning and Moniak. Was Ohtani that much worse last season that he lost the MVP and now he's untouchable? Ohtani hit 34 HR's, was a Cy Young candidate with a 2.33 ERA and 1.01 WHIP as a starter and won 15 games with the mediocre Angels last season and lost.
I agree. Ohtani was just as impressive last year. The only difference is that his batting and pitching dominance have switched places. He was Cy Young worthy last year, and he is a hitting machine this year. I can't wait to see him throw a no-hitter and hit a home run in the same game.
