Yes pity their isn’t more classic early 80’s cars rallying nowadays. There was one chevette featured on this video, unfortunately they rolled out of the event on day 2 of the rally!
Mightn’t look it but was a slight turn just before the junction and made the junction very hidden. The small bumps into the junctions also seemed to unsettle the crews on braking. Was also last corner off stage so heads and adrenaline was up😆
You can see on the approach that the small ripples in the road meant that the wheels were hopping and not giving the expected breaking ... there's black from locked wheels and light patches where the wheels were in the air ... Given the visible state of the road and the mass of tyre marks up at the junction, the drivers should have been factoring in that information - but obviously many didn't!
@@garyrowe58 the ripples definitely didn’t help. Would been hard for crews to go off tyres marks as was 30 degree heat and tar was melting. Tyre marks were basically everywhere
@@mad4tarmotorsportvideos What I meant was, the drivers should have noticed the LACK of consistent tyre marks over the ripples on the road, where just like everyone before them their tyres would not be giving consistent grip, and they would need to brake early. The corner was a simple 90 left ... but there's more to being quick than just holding the throttle down till the last possible millisecond!
If you want to be a diehard rally racer, you need to learn how to use your emergency brake on corners while powering with the front end! Slamming on your brakes on a corner is only gonna wreck you you totally lose control! Do your homework…
Emergency brake ? You mean handbrake 🤯🤯🤯Brake hard with foot pedal for front depending on break bias as does diff , straight before corner power slide back end as has some great lsd in rear diff . U DO U HOMERWORK😂

...🤔 reminds me of driving home from the pub in the 80’s....😂😂😂😂😂😂
peugeot 205 and a honda civic. nice to see them.
👍👍👍
Escort MK2, the only car ever designed that looked so “right” going sideways
Fact: the words 'Escort' and 'sideways' are ALWAYS seen together...😁

rwd Corsa!?!
Yes! Not many about

Fact: real drivers don't need cars that make constant popping, banging, and crackling sounds. Watch and learn, all you engine mapping muppets...
