As a NASCAR fan this is probably one of the best interviews I've seen from the show. I still love what y'all are doing and all the interviews with other athletes in the sport. I would love to see more NASCAR content

Chase does give some very good incites here especially for the casual fan. Pat, although loud, does actually ask some really good questions and shows off some of the personality that NASCAR has to offer.

Mr. Pat McAfee, I hope, no actually I pray dear Lord baby jesus, that we get more cup series talk here on the channel, I think you should try and get Mr. Kevin Harvick on your show as it is his last year and a fan Favorite, and a veteran of the motorsport, also big race Talladega coming up Soon.
Good to see Chase is starting to come out of his shell, I don’t think he would have done something like this a couple years ago.

the fact that Pat kept talking about how much people are talking about Chase's return and yet Chase never mentioned that he is the most popular driver (so duh a lot of people want to see him back) AND Pat kept asking about family and Chase NEVER mentioned that his father, Bill, is a multi-time Champ in NASCAR as well. . . never ceases to impress me with his humility

NASCAR is very personality driven though, so while they don’t have the reach of the NBA or NFL, they can reach audiences you would not expect maybe.
mannnn Chase had such a humble response to Pat asking about the family history in the sport lol. i don’t blame Pat for not knowing i know he doesn’t follow NASCAR and it’s cool that he had a driver on, but i was really hoping Chase would at least say his dad’s name to see if that registered with any of the guys

I was hoping Chase would point out his dad is the FASTEST driver in the books 212 mph at Talladega.
Chase is the most humble dude, his dad was a champion and holds the fastest laps at both Talladega and Daytona. Both of which will never be broken. First man to get the Winston Million. Won at the Brickyard. Legend.

@@coltonharris1828 I was waiting for Chase to say something about his Uncle Ernie Elliott when they were talking about engines having an advantage in the old days. In the mid to late 80s - Ernie's stump pullers were legendary in NASCAR.

Just racing in general, whether it's NASCAR, Indycar, F1, WRC, SRX, NHRA, V8 supercars they all need to be talked about on the regular. Especially on mainstream sports programs.

@@djjazzyjeff1232 agreed 100% I was a huge Chad Reed fan as a kid. And I've been a fan of sprint cars, midgets and dirt late models since I was 10 years old. Dirt racing look so much fun. We don't have much of a dirt racing culture here in Atlantic Canada but I'd love to run some sort of racing one day.

Pat McAfee how in the hell do you have chase on and you actually asked him how he started and did his family race... his dad happens to be one of the best drivers in Nascar history. How do you get paid millions of dollars to talk sports with an entire crew and not one of you thought to goggle him before his interview because you looked really dumb questioning him. Chase I'm sorry you had an interview with someone who doesn't even know who you are.

I really like what Pat McAfee and his guys do. They talk just about all sports (I've seen him do some NHL before that was pretty good). Pat may not know too much about NASCAR but him taking the time to dedicate half an hour for something like this shows why I like his show. ESPN only cares about NFL, MLB, and NBA and they avoid the other stuff (an example being Molly on First take avoiding an NHL debate about why the rangers are the best NY team right now).
Keep up the great work guys!

Just said last week on Pat's show he named off like every sport but nascar to bring in nascar and just a few days later here we are, will only bring more normal viewers cause it's a fun show. Time for a weekly spot for Elliot
The athletic part is complicated. Drivers don’t train for other sports, so they may not be able to dribble a ball or hit a ball with a bat very well. But some of these dudes train by strength training for a couple hours, training for reaction times, and run marathon distances or bike 30 miles. Multiple drivers participate in triathlons. But……..some other drivers don’t do anything except for drive.

I commented just a few days ago when Pat rambled of all the sports of the week and didn't say anything about nascar after naming pretty much every sport but them, there are great drama stories there to bring more fans to the show. And until recently, NASCAR used the 4 speed manual transmission common in 1950s Ford pickups and went to sequential transmissions like you see in a sports car or F1 car basically. Sequential means you just shift up or down, no H pattern and having to really work at shifting anymore. They only use a clutch to start the cars, downshift, and maybe save fuel.

For those who don’t know, Bill Elliott, Chase’s dad, won the Most Popular Driver Award in NASCAR 16 times, still a record. He was voted Most Popular so much he told NASCAR to take his name out of the pool

Cool that NASCAR is being represented. Chase is a fantastic ambassador for the sport. I would also love to see F1, Rally, MotoGP and others get represented too, but those ones might be a little for difficult to have happen.
I absolutely love that Pat is bringing NASCAR drivers onto his show, but the second he asked Chase, "is your family in racing?" I knew he was not a NASCAR fan. CMON PAT HIS DAD IS BILL ELLIOTT FOR GODS SAKE!

Love the show Pat....but you dropped the ball with this one. You should have done a little research. You would have said "what a dawg"! This guy and his family are pretty bad ass. He will never tell you that because he is very humble. You asked him what things you can do to make the cars go fast and what things can you do to them to get an advantage.....well......his uncle happens to be one one the best engine builders ever and his father is the fastest NASCAR driver ever. Chase would never tell you that and he would never tell you that he himself is pretty bad ass in his short career. You need to bring him back on and get some of those good stories out of him. You would be the perfect guy for that.
Bill and Chase (William Clyde Elliott II) are pilots. Bill could probably have been a fighter pilot and Chase is a personal private pilot who flies himself to about every race and flies helicopters also.
