Runs like these make you realize how *dangerous* Pikmin really are. No wonder they were hunted to near extinction in the first game since they are able to become *the* apex predator and effectively increase their numbers with a capable leader.
@aaronahmadi7033 I think it's meant to be a joke about how useless it is in the actual run. I think it's still cute seeing the TAS run still care about the well-being of an individual Pikmin.

This video is completely mesmerizing, I must've watched it about 10 times now. But the wogpoles being spared has always been an itch in the back of my brain. I've tried to think "well those aren't collectible without blues so they don't count." But if Olimar punched them and got them to die close enough to shore, he could potentially push them with his sleeping to where red pikmin could grab them, making them technically collectible. This process, of course, would end up taking a large portion of the day, not leaving enough time for the rest of this Map Sweep route. But I wonder, what if the goal of collecting everything was ditched and changed into "killing everything". Once enough Pikmin have been grown, you'd only have to kill each enemy in an instant and leave their corpses behind as you remain only focused on collecting ship parts. This could potentially save enough time for Olimar to go out into the pond and punch every Wogpole to death. The day would end and Olimar would leave with the entire map, not barren, but dead. There are similar "kill every enemy" challenges in other games, it wouldn't be an uncommon self-imposed goal.
I wish this series wasn't so niche. It's insanely good and fun. I admit I was one of those people that just kind of looked at the series like "who cares?" But then I played Pikmin 3 and I was in love. I wish more people gave this series a chance.
You are really impressive. I tried this a year ago. Managed to sweep all enemies/pellets but only got enough parts to go to the next area. I kind of gave up, but I'm glad to see it's possible. I really hope you decide to try for the other areas as well.

How do you get that food pellet to move? I can not get Olimar to move it and I'm wondering if it's my technique or if Pikmin has been updated as I'm not playing it on the original system.

This is the reason you can only have 100 pikmin on the field. If you could have more, the wildlife wouldn't stand a chance, even at night
