    Nice job. I like your laid-back style. One statement, and one question: I have used my HXT shaft now for a couple~three weeks and love it. Your review on it made puling the trigger that much easier. Thanks. Now the question... the APT tool. Mushrooming tips are something I help other people with a lot. I know you said you'll be reviewing all this equipment in-depth, so, I guess my question(s) on that will be answered in due time, but if you have the time and inclination to offer up anything more on that, I'd appreciate it. Thanks again. Good stuff.

      Thanks for the response. I’ve had a lot going on the last few months but I will be doing a review of all the items in my bag as well as many other things. I’m not sure when the review of the APT tool will be but I will have one on the WillardTip shaper hopefully soon. I go back and forth on both the Willard’s and APT tools as to which one I like more, they each have their benefits.

      It is a great bag. It's a John Barton and it protects my cues really well and it's very durable. My only complaint on it is the shoulder strap pad. Pool Addiction That’s a bummer. Yeah I’m sure he would take care of it for you. I’ve watched some of his TH-cam vids and he seems very passionate about his pool cases. I actually just went ahead and ordered a black one same as yours just now. The pocket layout looks great. I have a pretty expensive cue and the cheap case it came with isn’t cutting it anymore.

    • @PoolAddiction

      I will say that I love what Predator is doing for the sport and that’s only done by people buying their products. I was a big fan boy of the 314 back in the 90s and early 2000s but never been a fan of their cues. The cue dimensions and balance as well the joint are not what I prefer in a cue. I am a bit of a custom cue maker lover hence the Chris Nitti I play with (I have 2). Also, I spend a lot of time on Facebook looking custom cues, a bit of an obsession. Are you familiar with Cognisenti cues made by Joey Gold. I have two of them; they are not cheap but NOBODY making cues today can touch his fit or finish. Additionally they hit better than any cue I have ever had Mucci, Southwest; Schoen Jacoby Mc Dermott you name it.

    • @PoolAddiction
      @PoolAddiction 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know of Cogs but never tried one. I’ve always wanted to get into cue collecting but the the lack of $$ seems to be an issue. If I did, I would have have a Cog in the collection. Don’t get me wrong though, my collection would mostly cues that I’m not afraid to play with. I didn’t mention earlier but, I do have a Predator cue. The reason why have it is to have a cue with a Uni-loc joint which gives me the ability to try out a shaft in a Uni-loc if that reason arises.

    • @robertbyington7715
      @robertbyington7715 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PoolAddiction
      You have to look at a cog as a serious investment because they start at about $1200 but what sets them apart other than the finish and the fit is the polymer pin which is specific to a cog. Its basically very light and stronger than steel. The problem with most metal joints is the weight. Most custom cue makers have trouble keeping the weighted part of the cue out of the butt but most of JG cues are forward balanced. I live in Chicago so I was able to go to his shop and select exactly the wood I wanted. If you have an email

    Love the bag man but...I’m oldschool. A crusty old Mali in my bag with legit chalk and a 35 cent sheet of sand paper for the tip, my key chain for rounding and a trusty piece of 35 cent Brillo pad for shaft cleaning. 10 trophies and thousands upon thousands of games later.....Oldschool still works! It’s not your equipment that makes the player, it’s how the player uses said equipment. Dad used to kill with a house cue and his car key to rough the tip! Man I miss those days!

    • @PoolAddiction
      @PoolAddiction 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment! I agree it’s not the equipment that makes the player great, it’s the player who practices that becomes great. Some equipment can help your game if you put I the time with the equipment to make it a part of your game. Thanks for watching and I hope you liked the video!

    When you fly, do you check your bag or have it as carry on?

    • @PoolAddiction
      @PoolAddiction 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Per TSA You have to check it in. I travel for a couple of months at a time so I have a wheeled duffle that I use (Eagle Creek 36ORV). It's expensive but it's one of the largest I could find and it's built like a tank. The hardest part is finding a bag is one that fits the length of your case. For shorter trips, you can find some that are soft bags that will fit a cue case and you can pack your clothes around the case. Thanks for watching!

    • @Ravencroft81
      @Ravencroft81 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PoolAddiction I'd be apprehensive about checking my expensive cue. I also thought most airlines have maximum dimensions for checked baggage. A cue case would be too long. I just asked cause I saw Efren Reyes talking about how he had a "fragile" sticker on his cue case, but not specifically stating he checked his case.

    • @PoolAddiction
      @PoolAddiction 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Ravencroft81 Believe me I know. Delta destroyed a $1400 cue as well as a $300 Instroke case that was well protected in a box. It was gross negligence but thankfully they paid for it. Still, I don't want to have to replace an expensive unique that once it's gone it's gone. I have been apprehensive ever since, By the way, I am carrying even more $$$ in cues and case nowadays so I am always a little nervous. Most Airlines do have maximum dimensions but I have never had that issue with my wheeled duffle, I usually have a problem with weight. Some of the cue case makers make a soft-sided bag that has some padding that will meet the dimensions of a checked bag. They're big enough to throw clothes in there as well and they have locks for the zippers. JB Cases and Porper are 2 that come to mind that make those bags. I am always on the lookout for bags that will work for travel...I may need to do a video on that. TSA will not let you carry on cues no matter what baggage you have because they consider it a weapon. It's laughable though when I see people with canes, walking sticks, and skateboards that are allowed to be carried on. I have talked to them and it doesn't sound like it's going to change. Ironically they almost changed it back in 2016 but just weeks before it was going to go into effect, they shut it down.

      I am on the road for work throughout the year and pool is my hobby so I take my sticks wherever I go. When I made the video I was on the road in Japan. Practically all of my road time is international and it’s almost half the year. I hope you don’t think I am some great player (average B in BCA and 5/6 in APA). I would say I can hold my own but I am by far from a great player, heck I am not even in the top 300 where I live…probably well below that even. I love the game of pool and I love trying new equipment. I’ve gained a lot of expereince over the years (playing off and on since 94) trying different gear and I created this channel to get reviews out there on billiards equipment that I felt was lacking. You can say this channel has become my second hobby now. I am just a guy who has been playing for while now that could be better if I were able to get out more. I also want this channel to promote the game of pool and hopefully draw more players to the game. With all that said, if you want to play some sets some time when we are in the same area I can do that but don’t expect much. I am going on the road again in a week or so and won’t be back in the states until sometime in the Spring.
