Every time Neace says 'you deserve this' I feel like he's talking to me. I think it's actually really important to acknowledge when you deserve the shit you get in the game by not playing it right
Seeing this game through the eyes of a Challenger player and the split second macro decisions Neace is able to make is honestly a treat to see. As a gold player myself, I would've thrown this game minutes ago. It really does show you that waves/exp is way more important than the shiny kill you see running around all the time.
I tell people to watch LCS pro games so they can see how much some of the best players in the world focus cs more than anything else. There was a game the other day where Ruler had something like 300 cs at 26 min as Sylas. Got no kills or assists in early game, but was still an item ahead of everyone else for most of the game.
I haven’t yet watched this video, but I’m about to, if I don’t see everything you just mentioned I’m gonna downvote your comment, yeah how about that XD
I started playing garen and find him incredibly fun, I have 70% in 100 games in mid gold.. I just learned the 3 auto e stride proc. Plus learning more about the Jax matchup is nice to see!
Huh, so I get the feeling when people talk about "Elo Hell" is that there is a certain amount of game understanding in your lobby going on and the problem is the player in "Elo Hell" doesn't know when the team is actually making the right decisions and when not, blindly following them. I'm low - mid gold atm., not gonna pretend otherwise but this game was really a good example of this where I could see a lesser player with no coaching following up these crooked teamfights that where going on all the way throughout, leaving this insanely valuable map pressure behind, possibly losing the game very fast. Now that teamfight in the end there, where Garen joined and took the whole thing home was an example of a decent call you'd wanna follow up on but recognizing that subtle difference in a split second and not arriving too late is an odd skill to master.
WOW Such an INCREDIBLE coaching - Great way to show how to play the long game and what do it in a late game situation. Everything fron the itemization to the marco was So advanced in this game that im 100% saving this to my LoL play list for garen. tysm neace for showing this on ur channel =D!!!
As a Jax main, having played both Jax into Garen and vice versa a lot, it amazes me that Garen players don't know that they can literally just activate their Q, run on top of the Jax to bait the counter strike, THEN use the Q and full combo. That way Jax doesn't get the bonus damage from his E and you still get to use your damage + silence from your Q
Very strong pick ! It was trundle and jax who made me gold first time in 2018 before i stopped playing. Im back again tho. But in 2018 trundle with guinsoo... was no joke
Hey Neace - I agree with almost all you say, but the one section at 11 min where you’re feeling that Garen should ALWAYS start with an auto, and then a Q I think maybe is a bit linear thinking. If it’s always an auto into a Q then jax can always prep his E accordingly. Whereas, if sometimes he changes it up on jax - throwing out a Q as his opener, it silences jax and can catch him off guard if the plays prior have been Auto into Q. Just a thought! As I’ve mentioned, great coaching as always! Agree with most of what you say.
At 10:35, is there some explanation that I'm missing? The student's reasoning for going straight for the Q makes sense to me, and it's what I would do in that matchup too. Neace sounds like he's just saying "Auto Q" out of habit, but it gives Jax more time to react with E, and if Garen lands the auto but gets his Q blocked, that's worse than just landing the Q. If I did start with an auto, I would rather go auto-E and save Q for after Jax's E.
I think its less about this matchup and more the habit he should always have. I could be wrong, but I think Neace would rather him learn the muscle memory and drive the point home rather than getting an extra Q in this game. Also in this matchup if you auto first and can bait jax's E and then as soon as counterstrike ends he can just auto Q him.
@@jifx7385 That's pretty much what I'm saying, though. It sounded like Neace was trying to teach a habit, but I don't think that habit is appropriate for the matchup. And what you're saying about baiting Jax's E is basically the same as what I was saying too. IF Garen starts with an auto, it's better to go for E next and maybe bait Jax's Counterstrike so Garen can save Q for afterward. But if Garen wants to land Q up front, he should be trying to surprise Jax and land it immediately.
@@MrL1193 Nope. Auto Q always. Your Q doesn't immediately land, you can cancel it like any other AA. Auto, Q, cancel Q animation to not get dunked into his E, after E follow up with your Q and E.
What I truly despise is what he said, looking at the LP gained (+13) and went "this is what I don't like to see" and you were 100% right with your reply Neace, "start playing better then". That's soooo true, many people are guilty of this, they play like sh*t but then feel entitled to the +18/+19 LP whenever they win. Improve your performance, play better, carry your team, and make sure you're the best player on your team even when you loose, even you, reading this, don't bring yourself down cuz you're hardstuck silver, if you put the effort in, you can climb, at least to low diamond EASILY, I know you can do it, you know you can do it, Faker wasn't born already a League God, he trained for it. Now go and knock it out of the park💪
Until the system literally keeps you down for months. When you get a loss streak filled with all the usual griefing and you are having deathless games yet still go -22LP and only +11? It's disheartening to say the least. "Imagine your perfect win conditions..." lol, for starters it's 10 people playing and taking the match seriously, aka what we queue up to do in ranked! But when that's not even a reliable base line, when the algorithms don't pick up the adc crow hopping in base since they lost turret, when we get the support bots, when the jg proudly types "ur a jerk, i'm not ganking u" and such? It's true we can only control our performance, but this is a team game. If the team's not there? There's only so much an individual can do.
@@Undomaranel except the guy's performance actually deserve the low lp gain. I don't wanna be mean, but his trading sucks for someone playing garen in plat. Jax is also an extremely telegraphed champ to go against. His only engage is literally a jump onto you, it won't come from anywhere else. Yet the guy missed a ton of chances, like neace said, auto q e and run with phase rush. The whole point of that rune is to get short trades in YOUR favor and dip out. Yet he fails constantly to proc it because he doesn't auto-q. I honestly think his playstyle would work better with conq or grasp.
@@Undomaranel I get where you're coming from, but still... I don't fully agree, trust me, I have been playing since season 3, and I'm comfortably hovering around D1/masters, I've seen it all, and majority of the times it's just a case of people being bad at the game, sure, you'll get the griefers from time to time and whatnot, but they're really not as common as your brain has been wired to think they are. Now, I used to see it like you, and say stuff like "it's the system that keeps me down" until I managed to hit diamond/masters, once I did and went back smurfing in silver/gold, it all made sense to me, and my way of thinking completely switched to "man, I truly was just trash". Again it's all just psychological, most people think they're better than they actually are and that they should easily climb up the ladder, and blame the "system" when it doesn't happen, cuz putting the blame on external factors it's easier than actually putting in the effort to improve. Think of Chill Neace for example, he took a hardstuck bronze account, the account was f*cked, but he managed to effortlessly climb to gold 1 (at the moment of writing), and he's not even tryharding, he's playing every champ A-Z off meta so yeah... I'm not at all sold on this "system conspiracy", both based on my personal experiences and other stuff I see, like Chill Neace. Sometimes I wish everyone would climb just to realize... They were the ones holding themselves back all along (btw, this said, I don't want you to feel attacked, I just explained why your way of viewing it, is completely wrong)
