The Knots on the fence kit point outwards to stop confusion if you place from the side or front. Also I like to have multiple kits set up to have a plan to close all gaps etc. Cheers. GG
Having multiple kits is a great tip! I always end up having a gap that is easy to break, so placing four kits before even building the base would be huge.

This is actually what I’m doing on Sakhal. I’m a bit inland from the coast on a mountain that I couldn’t foresee anyone actually walking through. Eventually as you walk in the woods get thick and is fully made of pine trees. There’s one group of trees that are a perfect “[“ to slip a improvised tent into facing inwards. It’s almost undetectable unless you’re right near it. I don’t even have a way to mark it I usually get lost for a little finding it😂
Building my first base on official only made couple gates before. Hidden in the mountains I've stashed 6 large tents one small and a car tent all camoed and have first section build, it will resemble a ant nest l, the entrance is along the cliff edge, gates to chuck players off the edge added, barbed ofc... all solo, lacking in arsenal and explosives but once I'm well set up I'll set out to take my first raid 😂 gonna be a blast

Vid is for basics of building. Not of where to build. Or vulnerabilities. Most people would also built inside the building for hiding the fact that there is a base.
I've finally, after more hours than I care to admit, got to a point where I can survive in the game without too much difficulty. I think this is gonna be my next project.
I used a house with the same layout. When I started, I started from the inside room and worked my way out (just to be able to secure my loot with less material when starting)
Watchtowers are effective You can build a outer multi level perimeter, with barbed wire. Preventing someone from just building campfires and walking over your walls. Razor wire will prevent them, but if you just razor wire a fence. Then they can possibly jump on top of the wire, take the cuts and roll into your base

I was there a few weeks ago man. Eventually survival becomes easy. Here are a few tips. Get comfortable killing the zombies because the items they have will keep you alive. Always take the safe way out of situations and take your time. I like to use greenhouses, windows and sometimes parked cars to fight them without exposing myself directly. Walk don’t run everywhere until you get your food and water locked down. More you run the more food and water you need. Knives or something sharp is important. Always keep a couple on you. Chickens are important as well because they are everywhere and besides food you can craft knives and fish hooks with the bones. When you get a little more comfortable craft yourself a fishing pole. A great source of food. You get far more out of a fish steak than a chicken steak. Always make sure you locate some non perishables before venturing out too far just in case. Keep watching tutorials until you start to get it! There’s so much you need to worry about but eventually it becomes second nature.
This is what i needed. Ive been running around trying to find another tent kit crawling thru dew glistened grass in the dark hours of my mornings. Hoping the skinz just walk the other fucking way. My face is covered in mud and leaves and i havent showered in 2 weeks. Ive got a wicked cough that only a smoker would love and my shoes are carrying a conversation with one another. Ive been rummaging thru bookcases and department stores looking for books and phamplets on building and all i had to do was pull out my phone and youtube this shit. Im crawling back to my hole.
I love this video for beginners to veterans but I think you forgot to mention the other work arounds for tools like to make the base you could also use a farming hoe and to biuld the fame and stuff you can also use a meat tenderizer but sadly the biggest loss is there isn't a different tool you can use for making a gate

Ok maybe it's because I have been a builder is a ton of ganes before I started dayz but I've only been playing day z for less than a year. Less than 2 weeks ago I started to look at build tutorials just to see if there was anything I didn't know. Sadly there is not. I figured out the walls soft side hard side day one common sense same with the gate and the platform even figured out the double standing tall wall. It's not a mystery really. It's all right there to help you figure it out as you go. The thing that messed me up the most is the locks still does sometimes it will go 2 clicks really fast and miss counting it but it's not hard. I'd advice if you have a vehicle to help with resources use sea chest you can put like 9 or 10 rocks in it or 10 stanks of planks drop them in the trunk takes up 100 spaces it just helps gathering stuff way faster than carrying it around
Oh since he does not mention it if you want to go say to high walls after you build the first part of a wall just attach the fence kit to the top of the first wall build it just the same way you can go higher if you want if you can reach the top of a wall you can make it taller

I feel like im not carrying more than i need yet ive got maybe a 1/4inch of stamina and can only run for 2 seconds...is there a way to shuffle things around so i have more stamina or do i simply have to carry less? If you only can make lower or upper metal. Would you want the bottom to be metal so the can’t just destroy it and crawl through or are they able to climb over it anyway if the top is destroyed
So when you build a base, do you have to run all over the map once you respawn just to get to it again? I’m new to the game so I’m not sure if there’s a way you can choose where to spawn or not
So I'm a bit confused about some of the recent patches/updates is there or is there not base/wall damage for official servers? I've found a couple of bases and typically don't raid just out of respect for fellow survivors, but I decided to give it a go once and the wall just would NOT break no matter what I did lol. 😅

Very much so, first off food can be easy especially on chernarus if you watch my first "HOW TO HAVE A PERFECT START VIDEO" it goes over mainly food in detail. Secondly, there are lumber mills where you can just use a saw and get planks easily. As for the rest, looting industrials; )
When putting the wire on the wall to make a gate, how do you choose which side you want the wire to go? I've made a gate but coz the base of the gate is too far to unlock the combo lock which caused being locked in my base coz I couldn't reach the combo lock to unlock😫😩
I literally see these items left and right. The day I think "Hey lets grab some tools and stash them to build a base" No tools were ever seen again. My kingdom for a Saw and some Nails....so dumb lol. That said, I'd rather bury my shit randomly...much safer and more secure than a base. IZurvive helps mark locations...to eliminate remembering. "Yeah...but anyone with a shovel can just rob you...it takes effort to raid" You never found one of my stashes...Building a base is a multi-player effort....and a couple players can take it down with know how.

build shelters to use primarily for stashing loot
To help if you don’t have space you can build a wooden crate and put 50 planks inside to save you from walking so much
better to clear out your inventory into a crate.. Walking with crates, metal sheets, logs, etc is miserable and dangerous

just build discrete shelters all over the map to stash your unwanted loot
With everything it took to build a base, it only takes me my fist and bone knives to break it down.

Hello, yes basebuilding shown in this video is from VANILLA DAYZ and is the same for PC & Console.
But always keep in mind that bases are temporary and always have stashes to keep valuable loot safe
you know you can rotate the kits with mousewheel right?

They can do that yes. The idea is you have to AIRLOCK yourself so they can't with ease ;)

I see piles of logs alone the road from time to time. These cant be used for building?
Get a saw, you can cut straight planks out of the logs if they are already cut.
