I always think about Bellatrix Lestrange and her decent into darkness whenever I hear this. I love the original AND this cover. The original seemed to be more like what the song title is, Teen Spirit. But this cover, on the other hand, is more creepy and the lyrics really fit the tune just as well as the original. I love it!

I almost had a heart attack when I heard this watching Black Widow, I was sooo excited that it was getting attention. I've been listing to this version for years, it was so good I even tried to do the spotify thing where you can get your own music synced because it wasn't available on there (or at least I couldn't find it). No one else knew about it, it was like my own 'personal version' of the song and it meant a lot to me. But, wow, I just about lost it when I heard this in theaters.

Smells Like Teen Spirit is timeless. And has perfect longevity
Whereas the original song seemed to be about boredom and even the rebellious anger one might experience as a teen, I feel like this cover manages to capture boredom in a lifeless way as well as teen angst perfectly. With the rise of depression and anxiety amongst teens and young adults, I feel like this cover fits the youth of this generation in the same way the original fit the generation of the 90's youth.
